I prepared myself a lot before this episode to have (finaaaaallly) the reunion between Leif and Thorfinn… for nothing. Because for once the anime decided to not make a time jump and to show us what happened for Thorfinn and Einar while Ketil and his sons were having all of these troubles far away. I wondered about this introduction scene being about a new character, if it would be to present a new important person, like they did for Einar. It made sense at the end of the episode : the guy is Arnheid's husband.
And after spending this entire episode spending time with our guys and seeing that they finally found peace, they are having fun, they have the impression to almost be free and they're trying to imagine what they would do once it's gonna truly happen… it felt that Gardar appearing like that was destroying that peace. Because nothing good can come from that situation. Even if Arnheid still loves him, wants to be with him, how can they escape ? I don't have hope for him, and also in fact for her.
