The entire Leif/Thorfinn prison scene is anime-only. The animation of Leif's expressions as well as the lighting of the backdrop as Leif's words finally brought Thorfinn around are all splendidly done, props to the WIT storyboarders and animators for going out of their way to make this one.
The first season covers a bit less than 8 volumes of the manga. And rn there are 26 volumes and 4 chapters of the 27th. So yeah, the story has just begun here in s1

There are a ton of tragic moments throughout this series, but the one that's stuck with me ever since first encountering it in the manga was that shot of Askelaad after hearing King Sweyn's plan for Wales. He's shocked, terrified, and for once, VULNERABLE. It's genuinely heartbreaking knowing what that one sentence did to him. The anime did an excellent job adapting that scene. What makes it particularly heartbreaking is the fact that even though it's a big moment, there's no "BAM, GOTTEM" sfx added. It's just that ionic, melancholic piano from the Dagger OST.
So many emotions in this episode.. nay, this whole series! 😭 I’m so so happy this is a 10/10 in your books Teddy. Rewatching this with you has been a blast, thanks for taking us along for the ride and I’m so not ready for it to be over (but also impatiently waiting for the next one haha)

Hello Teddy. I've been meaning to ask you this, I just found out about the work of Junji Ito. I've heard that name before and it hits me when I see one of his book called "uzumaki" then I remember you have one in your bookshelf. I haven't read any of his book yet but I've read his diary cats. Pretty funny. I just finished the anime and it was really intimidating. My question is, have you watch his anime and will you react to it after this show is over?
Uzumaki or the Junji Ito collection? I tried watching the Ito collection but I felt like it didn't do the manga justice. He's my favourite mangaka and I felt like the anime adaptation did him dirty.... there's going to be an Uzumaki anime coming next year though and for that I'm more than excited and definitely will be reacting to (if I'm still doing reactions🤣)
@@teddymecheto Junji Ito collection! That was creepy from start to finish. There are some book of his that makes me interested just by the cover itself which is "smashed" and "shiver". Just because I remember the artwork from that cover, I never thought I'd seen it in the anime. Now I know what smashed really is, the tall model, centipede, Tomoe and the skin with holes. Didn't know about uzumaki before but from what I've seen in the review video, people have these creepy spirals and turned into a snail? Wtfff Anyway, since you're fan I'm sure you must have dissatisfied with the anime but I find it very enjoyable. The short stories really hit different. Will you react to it for us so that everyone will know about it? Lol What anime will you react after this?

I'm not sure junji Ito gets views on RUclips although it's amazing and his work is top tier idk if there will be many who will watch it now since it's been a while since it came out. I'm actually happy you enjoyed the anime though cause in my eyes he is Kami-sama in the horror genre regardless hahaha

Man, I teared up with Leif’s speech. The man left all his dreams behind to get Thorfinn back home. What a legend.
The speech followed by the shot of light and darkness with Thorfinn hiding in the cell corner give me goosebumps every time

Completely agree with your thoughts on Vinland Saga it easily climbed up in terms of how good it is and is easily a 10/10.

Vinland saga manga is in its final arc and the anime will have 4 (5 at most) seasons if they adapt the whole manga
