Cant wait for next Episode when Thorfinn and Canute both at the same time says "It truly was a saga, Vinland Saga" and then Einar'd all over each other.
"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how" is one way of describing how Thorfinn has changed. I don't think I've ever been so proud of a fictional character as I am of Thorfinn.
@rodvincetolosa9386 yeah lol I already knew lol. Frankl even says it's from Nietzsche in Man's search for meaning. Don't know how i made that mistake lol
This chapter in the manga is called 無敵 normally it means invincible, but the kanji literally mean no enemies, as in unmatched/ no one can be your enemy. here Thorfinn choose to not have enemies, by not participating in a match he became unmatched It’s a really good word play
"who negotiates for peace by beating a man? i've only just met you today.. we dont know each other, or bear each other any grudge. Why should we have to beat one another? it's foolishness. There's absolute no reason for so many grown men to get together and shed blood. We just met today, you are not my enemies. I HAVE NO ENEMIES" -THORFINN GOATSELFNI
this is amazing deveplopment for thorfinn but it makes even more epic when next episode thorfinn says F*ck peace and then cuts canute head off and uses einar´s body as shield agaisnt arrows and escapes
Canute reveals his ultimate goal: to build a paradise on Earth, which he views as an act of rebellion against God's logic. He believes that humanity can't find happiness under God's rule and that the current state of the world, filled with chaos and destruction, is a result of people being abandoned by God. Canute sees the Vikings, who are known for their violent and destructive behavior, as a prime example of this abandonment. He believes that these people, who commit sins as they wander lost, need to be saved in order to build a true paradise. To achieve this, Canute plans to unify and guide the Vikings, using their combined strength to defy God's rule. He sees himself as the only one capable of this task, and he is willing to go to great lengths, including war and conquest, to accomplish it. In essence, Canute's statement about defying or fighting God is a metaphor for his ambition to change the world order and create a utopia on Earth, contrary to what he perceives as God's flawed design. *It's very much like Thorfinn's vision of a utopia, only Canute wants to seize it by any means necessary, with diplomacy first. They are two sides of the same coin.* Canute, for all intents and purposes, is a very progressive king. His display at the end to the waves wasn't to show how delusional he was but how powerless he was to do anything on his own.

That’s so beautiful!
@@YayReacts It's a quote from "Man's Search for Meaning" written by holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl. Very short and very good read.
@@WhizBang817 Thats Nietzsche, no?

‘I have no enemies’ is a much better sounding dialogue than ‘I don’t have any enemies’

Yeah dude, i loved this one, more anime like this one please haha

Cnut trying to stop the waves actually happened historically speaking.
I totally agree that I would consider it a waste of time. For me, I would have thought “This is none of my business, I’m outta here” and left asap.
