I build my camp just outside of Vault 76 near the pond. It's close to a few nodes for blood leaf, starlight berries, silt beans, pumpkins and snaptails. It's a great place to passively stock up or cook herbivore meals. I myself got everything I need there to craft Nuka Cola Dark, Sweetwater's Special Blend and more. All that is missing is Cranberries, Brain Fungus and Mothman Eggs (until they make the resource generator available again)
I appreciate that you mentioned best foods for a given bonus and then also the cheaper alternative that doesn't require fancy ingredients or vendor hopping. But for carnivore you missed one, the +75hp alternative for cooking up a bloodbug meat. Way easier for me to keep a stead supply of those than the fancier carnivore +hp buffs, and it's still a decent health buff.
Glad you said Sweet Mutfruit Tea. People keep calling me wrong and telling me to use blight soup. I will no longer have to hear “well I’ve never seen anyone on RUclips do it” ever again.
I will still advise people to craft blight soup instead of sweetmutfruit tea...one of the ingredients is easy, but sugar and Starlight berries are grindy, specialy Starlight berries. In some minutes on ash heap you gather blight to make 50 blight soups, for example. To make 25 sweet mutfruit teas, the Starlight berries alone will take you more than double the amount of time...if the effect was stronger, ok, but it is not, so for me blight soup is the number one choice. I only make smtea if I got ingredients to spend after a cooking session. Also, sometimes I grind Starlight berries, but only to craft berry mentats.
@@joaovasco3059you make so many only for them to expire. The expiration system annoys me, and the cryo freezer doesn’t work properly and takes forever to put all your food into it.
@@BasedHoliday I was just giving and example...and comparing blight soup with sweet mutfruit tea, which I think have the same spoil time. But for real, I usually make dozens at a time...its so easy, I pop one every now and then, of course sometimes some spoil, but as I said, to grab 20 or to grab 40 for example, with the green think perk, is not that different...
I also recommend farming Best Builds camps on the map. Usually there are plenty of resource generators and even if they are locked, you can unlock them without getting a bounty.
Glowing fungus puree is a better option for energy res as uses fewer ingredients. Also, steeped fern flower for +5 ST, Steeped Gourd for +5 END, and Sweetwater tea for +5 PE lasts a lot longer.
I make all the high ingredient 1 hour teas. To make 10 each of infised soot flower, steeped gourd blossom, steeped melon blossom, and steeped thistle tea it takes about 25 mins... people act like it takes a 10 hour game session to make these teas. Every 2 days or so i spend 25 mins making tea. And that's the best herbavore buffs for an hour, hardly any time to craft at all. (All my special blend comes from the daily + tea time event)
For anyone wondering. Sugar maple location has 12 or 13 gourd blossom plants. Mellon blossom are 4 plants behind vault 76 and at several at the Generals steakhouse. All around wavy willard's is about 12 thistle plants( hardest path to get down) soot flower and mutated fern flower are super easy to get, they're literally everywhere. Starlight berries are also a known easy snag these days. Super easy farm for the best buffs.
Found this out recently but on the pathway towards the arena where seismic activity happens there are some food stands where there's some of the Nuka world foods on the counter to be grabbed. Mostly the carnivore ones
Also mention to buy the Apothecary ( whitch gives you flowers to cook ) and a freeser to store crafted food/drinks. They don't spoil. I also store eg 1/2 Wolf Ribs you have to sell to a NPC ones in a while in your Dailey/Weekly
Pepper and Spice are pretty easy to accumulate. Just visit some or all the places with the most spawns somewhat regularly and you are good. You can also get one pepper and spice fairly frequently at the Whitesprings crafting area because people who didnt pick them up spawn them in
I wish they'd make it so when you eat a food or use a chem with an effect if you use something else that provides a bonus it overwrites only if it's greater in value than what was previously consumed. I'm sick of for example I could be trying to eat with Carnivore a squirrel on a stick for 8 AGL then accidentally while cycling through I may end up eating a crispy squirrel bits next to cooked softshell meat or something and it's wasted.
No. You can't stack food items that give the same buff. You could combine 1 of them with Overdrive though. Chems and food occupy different buff slots so to speak.
It's pretty much all the same, but if you're talking about farming XP at West Tek then that is questionable at the moment. This update is supposed to make super mutant weapons/armor now scale to level 100 instead of just level 50 which may make it significantly harder if not impossible to clear rooms in W-T with nuka-grenades, I'm going to try it with psychobuff/tats instead of berry mentats and see what happens. The legendary effect for +INT on armor has also been changed for a while now to +2 INT instead of +1 per piece. One more thing was the effects of Backwoodsman issue #6 are supposed to have changed so that it no longer increases the benefits of cooked food besides hunger satisfaction, so you won't receive that benefit anymore with food buffs but you still have Live & Love Issue #3 I think. Can't think of anything else.
I checked it on PTS with the last iteration, auto axe did 85-95% more damage per hit, compared to chainsaw. Pre nerf, this number was around 200-220%. Regardless its still a no brainer.
Honestly, I’d be more open to do many things in this game, but the many quirks within it really put me off. The whole expiration mechanic is really obnoxious and pointless, and the house crafting system in general is so limited to the point of needing you to waste hours manipulating the mechanic just to make it look pleasant… This just the surface of problems I have with the game, but some actual quality of life chances wouldn’t be amiss. I’d just like a more tolerable gameplay experience.
I build my own camp to have easy access to most of food and alcohol buffs. I got a freezer on top that prevents spoilage for 50 items. Meaning you can stock up hard-to-get by food items easily.
It is true that the food spoilage is (I think) largely carried over from the more soft-core survival aspect from when the game initially released and this game does very poorly at being a survival-oriented game and they have generally only taken away from that aspect over time so it is a little silly. That being said the food spoilage mechanic is easily mitigated. Use good with salt. It really isn't a problem. You can also get the military cryo freezer by purchasing it with stamps I think (Guiseppe @ the Whitespring Refuge) but I don't even use it and I have no problem with food. It's very easy to get/make. CAMPs are only very hard if you want to make something more abstract which is not what the system was really designed for. If you want your CAMP to look nice then you need stuff from the Atom shop and/or more uncommon/rare plans.

deathclaw roaster is generating hot dogs for hp boost

Vlight soup is the same buff just less time. You can gather twice as much and make it twice as easy. (I use thistle tea lol)

Thank you @Angryturtle was looking for some guidance about this😉👍🏼
Great post AT, Looks like we will need as much help as possible to complete The Raid...
Found this out recently but on the pathway towards the arena where seismic activity happens there are some food stands where there's some of the Nuka world foods on the counter to be grabbed. Mostly the carnivore ones
I don't why it was so funny to me to hear someone say "cook wolves" 15:35
Also mention to buy the Apothecary ( whitch gives you flowers to cook ) and a freeser to store crafted food/drinks. They don't spoil. I also store eg 1/2 Wolf Ribs you have to sell to a NPC ones in a while in your Dailey/Weekly
11:20 you cant buy either the Deathclaw Steamer or Mirelerk steamer from the Bethesda ticket system, its not in their "list" so its not available.

Can also find some at the Watoga Supert Duper Mart if you'r vendor hopping for EPR mods.

Don't forget BIV!!
Ballistic Bock and High Voltage Hefe are amazing.

I’ve got a food question, can you have tea and then have blight soup?
No. You can't stack food items that give the same buff. You could combine 1 of them with Overdrive though. Chems and food occupy different buff slots so to speak.
@ i meant company tea
@ as in foods with different buffs

we will test
