Holy Cow Jeff…! That footage close to the end, where the dozer dropped down (sunk down) in the “sea” of dust, was a heart stopper for me, and then when you backing up, and turning, that dozer just kept leaning over…, too freaky for me., I am sure I would have big a hole in the seat, and not with my teeth. Great variety of camera angles, great video, Thank you sir.
Growing up in Southern California in the 60's we would have to haul our own household garbage to the dump and the landfill would cut slots like that to bury garbage into and then pile it over and over keeping the majority of garbage under a layer of dirt. The hill grew taller and wider as time went by. Now that site is being used for industrial businesses from what I can tell using google earth. Seen more Seagulls there then at the beach. The beach was 70 miles away. The video from various veiws is pretty cool, thanks Jeff.
As always bro a great video, the dozer could do with a visit to the carwash once this job is finished one would think let alone what the filters will look like. Safe travels
Fantastic video as normal. We all knew what was coming at some point which added some suspense to it. Not only great filming ,way better than many can manage on RUclips , but educational regarding the geological factors involved in this work. Hope my posts are not too long but how many yards is the D9 pushing generally on this work? The other thing is that the engine never seems to change tone pushing flat or going up the ramp which has to be 30degrees? What incline could the dozer actually climb without a load before the tracks lost traction? 50degrees? Great video again. Ron
Are those icicles hanging from under the dozer? About a third in from the left @6:50. I have a feeling that the more a camera plays up losing audio etc., the more likely it is to be put in harms way where it might be crushed or melted. Do accountants recognise RUclips 'consumables' as a legitimate business cost? That's a great sky @15:00 I hope you don't mind Jeoff, but I have borrowed that to use with the Photoshop Sky Replacement tool.
I like your different camera views, valve cover cam, undercarriage cam, cab top cam but question is has the camera ever fallen off and been crushed by the blade or track? Don't know about you but I really hate dust! Wonder if high pressure mist sprayers on the blade would reduce the dust, would require 2 or 3 hundred gallon plastic water tank mounted somewhere like over the ripper frame but the fine dust really is a maintenance cost both in labor and wear and tear. Combines used a fan blower system over the picking head to blow the dust away wonder if anyone has done something like this to earth movers?
love watching the nine! Just got done working my two 583H's up and across the state from ya in Nampa. Say Senior Jeff P. Dirt, you ever have to replace a recoil spring in a nine? My tractors are pretty much stock D8 undercarriages and I need to inspect on of my recoil springs cause it's holding grease but dropping track really easy. seriously the idler is constantly coming in and out. but I don't want to die a horrible death and have it hurt the whole time I'm dying.
Jeff, if you have to fill in those gaping holes, take out your air filter and go tap it out into the hole. That way you can control how fast you fill it in.
Can’t call you crazy! Love the way your Cats purr, your skills are great to watch. But if I lived in the USofA I would have to come down and straighten up the headlight on the D9, cheers, keep well !
Howdy crazy 🤪. All you can do is turn into it and ride it down. Ya that's the flour that flows like water. You almost need to put a box scrapper on your ripper frame to catch all of the stuff coming off your track frames Lol...
When I was young I was put on the 9H , I ended up bending a ripper lift cylinder, I wasn’t too popular. At that time none could be sourced in NA. They gave me the equivalent 70’s D155 to rip with. It wasn’t even close to ripping what the 9 could. The only time I hated the 9H was when i had to spread burn piles. No cab.. loving your videos 😊
Especially with how fine your soil is the water automatically fills the voids left from the big rock I’ve been well what your doing and had a big bridge and it was 4-5 feet deep Jay’s getting a derma braid the worst is corse sand coming over top of blade as it rolling and the fan launches it forward then the wind sand blasts you keeps ya looking young people pay good money for dermbraission
oh well you do get that sometimes (has pushin dust and dirt had any effect on yr health over the yrs jeff) good onyou love yr posts stay well cheers from australia
I've dropped my old D9G off many a drop off, the first time you do it is a bit daunting but once you know the machine it's great. The secret is, if your gonna do it, do it don't piss around, hesitation can get you in trouble. I near got stuck once and snookered as I hit a spring so only had one option. Back off a straight drop rock bench about 25ft high. I got the loader and put 15 loads of dirt against the bench to land on, got to the balance point, dropped the rippers as it went I pulled and stood hard on the left clutch and brake. It was a bit hard landing. I heard after a few weeks that The truck drivers waiting said that guys got some big balls hahaha. Now whenever there's anything people find scary at that quarry they say. Naaaaa I'm not doing a Glidden (my last name)
Those powerful machines are daunting when you operate them and compare them to other things. Then you go to Google maps and you zoom out until these massive machines fade into a tiny spec and disappear. Then the city disappears and even the country gets quite small. It really makes you wonder about the awesome Creator that designed this amazing place...
You’re Crazy like a sock full of frogs mate.. 😂 love the camera angles 👍 Nice chemtrails in the background too.. looks like you got some of uncle Klauss’s weather coming in. 😅🤙
Now there Jeff, you go thinking. Maybe next time you’ll go check and see how much fuel you have. Call me crazy 4 saying such . Ur the best Sir Jeffrey.
hey Jeff; just helped a buddy get his D9G (electric start; 15 ft blade) going after sitting for 8 years at the top of a hill near Conifer Colorado; the biggest issue I see are super loose tracks -- the tensioner on one side is shimmed with a stump! ; what would it take to repair tensioners (assuming they're shot)?
Pretty dangerous it you have to remove the spring, if the caging bolt is still intact and the pilot is not broke they can be removed, but if that stuff is broken do not! remove the cover bolts. you can have a rod threaded to go thru the center, (after you remove the broken center bolt) and put a plate over the front and rear covers and remove it, email me your # and I can send you pictures of the tool I made jpaydirt7@gmail.com
I just finished leaving a comment for Letsdig , because of his latest video, where he " Kissed the D6D Dashboard " comment: " Seatbelts are Optional Equipment " !
Man, I was leaning in my lazy boy and puckered tighter than a fish butt, don’t go getting hurt nothing to watch on U-tube, I’d have to go back to Andy Griffith or Gun Smoke reruns.
Could you not crush & use that rock for other projects/sell? 9 seems to run better with fuel, slot dozing vid was the first of yours i watched i think 👍👍
Love the shots from underneath the tractor- Thanks for another good one!
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh wow Jeff! “Pucker Factor”at 24:35? I was hanging on too!
Having a good time and getting paid for it . YOUR LIVING THE DREAM J PAYDIRT
Gotta ♥LOVE♥ trying to work that old volcanic Yellowstone ash. Rough on man and his equipment. 🥴👍👍
Great video Jeff always enjoy watching you dig out a long trench with your D9. Love the Drone footage and the music too stay safe Jeff.
Every time I watch you cut one of these holes I am amazed how those walls stand up. Be nice
To have dirt like that on the last job

Jeff you sure do have that ol d9 running good it doesn’t smoke nearly as much as it use to.

Always nice when you can push with the wind, even nicer having an air conditioned cab ❄️ yet even nicer pushing slots with a D11T💪🏽
Very true!
That D9 has a great clean burning engine even with a full blade of dirt pushing up the ramp at the end of your hole.
switchblade turby
Dirty political and clean engines
Looks great for all the dc people.
Crazy 😜😂😂 Thanks Jeffrey ❤️ it.

Jeff can't wait till you've got one of the H's working . I love to see a good D9H at work . Your lucky to have your G & H's . Stay safe Cat Man 👍👍
No technicality problems either predictable with the new
Good morning Jeff,
Thank you for the video and your effort as always for another great video!!
Take care and stay safe 👍😎🇬🇧.

Awesome machine and operator!
Thank you very much!
Jeff when its so dusty like in this video how often do you have to clean your air filters ?
At least you’ve got a pusher fan.
if he's really lucky/good he's got a reverse blade fan hub!
Just curious.... Why didn't you have a scraper in there?? That D9 and a scraper could move 3 times the dirt or more, faster for about twice the price
Your crazy. Great video as always.👍
That slide off the side of the pile was pretty scary. I’m assuming that wasn’t exactly planned.
He let Bert Reno make a pass

Was there a clean pair of shorts needed after the slide off the edge?
That is sure a Great sounds of that big cat 🐈 and how much it will push you are sure a good operator also
oh well you do get that sometimes (has pushin dust and dirt had any effect on yr health over the yrs jeff) good onyou love yr posts stay well cheers from australia
Slip sliding away 👍
If I was rich I would buy and have restored a D9 just because a machine that great needs to be saved for all time.
Maybe the torque conterter wants some scrapers to push
I remember playing in my sand box as a kid.. it didn’t have much rock.
Call you Dusty lol.
Can't beat an early finish to get to a kid's party.
Those buried clean rock voids can supply an additional ecological benefit,, Future Rattlesnake Dens!! 🐍🐍🐍🐍
no thanks
Tell us true Jeff, when Killdozer went sidehilling off the pile didn't just a few drops run down yer leg ? Thanks for sharing.
Bless You and Yours. 👌👍
He was putting it on grade

LOL..... Paydirt did not do his pre operation walk around and fluid level inspection. Tsk Tsk! 🤣
Really dusty casino, Jeff. You and your "Slot Machine"
The undercarriage angle was pretty cool
Jeff does like cutting those stack high slots.... Always good content Jeff, thank you... Please don't test the ROPS...

Yes sir Mr Paydirt, at 24: 35 I'd be needing new clean drawers. 😳🤢😉😁
Pretty nice work, video is top notch!
Much appreciated!
At 25:30 to 25:50 the dust in the grill looks like a big grizzly bear 😀😀🇺🇸
so jeff on this one did that time at 20.40 did it pucker you up did me you save her good job
Lots of water when backfilling, that how we used to fill voids.. i get water isn’t readily available for you out there
not sure this crap would wash down in but that's a good idea
You folks could use a pile of rain or snow or both.
Well Dang, He does operate that machine above a idle! Lol...
The camera angle of the underside I thought here we go the problem camera is a gonner
Your crazy! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You need to get a License so you can blast your own rock to the size you need.
I would only call you crazy from the safety of a computer screen. My boss's computer screen.😶🌫
Always knew you were a Dirty Old Man 😁 and me thinks the seat vinyl would have a couple of bite marks in it now too hey?
Keep those air filters clean
A farmer could get killed in a hole like that. Thanks for your time Jeff
I've dug hundreds, haven't lost a farmer yet, I don't even think the help has backed a truck in one yet LOL
that slide was just a wee bit of nuisance. The old girl wasn't going anywhere. Looks like a long day my friend
If you've never came off the side of a pile!, You are not an operator! LoL
Or flipped a scraper 3 times
And still have good girlfriends
Few fat gals along the way
Take two of your d9 and weld them together back to back for the ultimate slot dozer then you can push both ways and cut out that wasted backing up! 😀
that is a great idea!
Handled like a pro.
Can you tilt your blade forward or back on that dozer ?? Would it cut better if it was tilted forward a schose ???
You’re Crazy like a sock full of frogs mate.. 😂 love the camera angles 👍 Nice chemtrails in the background too.. looks like you got some of uncle Klauss’s weather coming in. 😅🤙
Are your good looking science teachers alive
Great videos as usual 👌
