Ableton NOTE is the new KING on iPhone 👑

- Ableton NOTE is the new KING among iOS music sketching apps. It borrows the nice workflow from a few other music apps (like Auxy, FL Mobile) and makes for a new unique music experience. Watch my video and learn how you can quickly start sampling a custom drum rack (kit) and build up a quick music loop with ease.
You don't even have to hit record...or play to a boring metronome. 😄
Just start playing and Ableton NOTE will record what you perform, analyze and set your pattern loop length and recognize your tempo. This auto tempo feature is something you might find in more expensive gear, like the Octratrack or BOSS loop stations.
And Ableton Note is just $6!!! No subscription. THANK YOU ABLETON!
Thanks for watching,
// Mattias

Can you export as a stereo file to use in other DAWs?
Unfortunately not, only export to ablproject and auto upload via Ableton Cloud (max 5 songs selected to sync at a time). But you can just record the phone output if you work in another DAW. Simple n quick. That way you can also record a performance 🥁😄
@@MattiasHolmgren good point. where there's a headphone jack, there's a way! The integration with Ableton Live is probably what makes it really special though.
Haha, absolutely. Personally I do this kind if line audio ”resampling” between many of my devices. Its often quickest way and does not require much fiddling. And you use the tools you’re comfortable with.
That said I wish Ableton adds wav / aif / mp3 export since everyone can already transform it into that if they want. 🤭
Its awesome that Ableton Note has the same / compatible instruments and drum racks as Ableton Live so you can continue build on the arrangement there.
An awesome feature I didn’t show in this video is that you can resample the output from Note directly in the app! Just hold the ”microphone / sample button” for a few sec and the recorder toggles mode! 🎉😄🍿
... it has an "Export Audio" function ... with a few options .... ;-)
@@usingabletonlive yeah noticed. ;)
Amazing, thank you for your great demonstration !
Thanks Note is an awesome app! 🙏😄🎉
Love this video!! You’re the best 🦄⭐️💥
Thanks me lady ❤️🎉😋

Amazing for my iPad. Really uses the real estate much better than the phone.
Yeah most music apps are more comfortable on iPad. 🎉 But as a quick music sketch and sampling / recording app on the iPhone Ableton Note works extremely well.
I couldn't find any midi set up. I hope it's there too with Bluetooth midi
I don't believe Ableton NOTE will input from midi device at the moment. Maybe in a future update!? 😄
Will this run as an auv3 instrument in another daw like GarageBand? I only ask because you said there’s no way to export the audio files to use in another daw
Yes, you can export into audio wav and m4a. I don’t think note will run in another daw. Its not a plugin in that sense. Its just a regular standalone iOS music making app.
First time I really dislike being on Android. I've wanted this for so long, got so hyped when I found out about Note, just to meet the disappointment of finding out about the iOS only thing.
Yeah I know its sad, but most developers choose to release on iOS because its easier to know hardware (mobile) specifics and its better optimized for audio processing. Android is a nightmare of different devices. I’ve released many apps myself for both platforms so I know the struggles. 🎉
@@MattiasHolmgren yes, I'm also in the business and have felt the struggle. Too bad iPhone's so darn expensive these days 😅
Yeah prices have gone to astronomical levels. Its a pity… 😔
@@juhlinpar iphone se $429. not too expensive even compared to most other androids that are similarly capable, and you'll have all the magic of ios
Long press the mic to re sample.
yep, that's an awesome "hidden" feature of Note. Long press the microphone to switch regular sampling to re-sampling! 😄🌞☕
Can u export midi or audio? Or turn the idea into an ableton live project?
Just saw that you can convert to ableton project
Yes, when within a set / project you can press the cog-settings.icon to the top right and select Export Audio. .wav or m4a- ;)
It's actually not the new king, not even close. I use Ableton on desktop, I love Ableton... but this mobile app is actually quite inferior to several of the note/sketching apps that already exist in the App Store and those apps can even export their projects as Ableton Live Sets all ready to use in desktop Ableton.
Until Ableton adds the missing features, like piano roll to make chords, a sequencer, a compressor and the ability to sidechain, it will remain waaaay down the list in the song note/sketching app foodchain.
What are🙂 your favorite/best note/sketching apps ? Thx! (like piano roll to make chords, a sequencer, a compressor and the ability to sidechain)
How would you say this compares to groovebox app
Novations groovebox app is very close but does not have sampling , multi effects

Um, no it's absolutely not.

Not even close to be king
I want to see more comparisons to Koala sampler. one of the best things about Koala is it's available on android. tired of Apple's nonsense.
