Bro, you did really good. Thanks so much for testing out our products. I really appreciate that. Do you mind if I use parts of this video on our channel to refer folks to come watch you? I have been a fan of your work for a long time. Your real as hell and I love it. I would love to build something with you!
I smashed my head on the like button- for FOX’ sake, DOOOOITTTTTTTTTT😆🤯
That would be friggin amazing if y'all did sonething together.
That’s a PRO TIP!! 😂
Do it! Do it! Do it!
Two of my favorite channels
Looks awesome. I’d love to see an update in a few months about its durability. Countertops get so much abuse that I always wondered how these would hold up over time.
Epoxy countertops are super durable. I did my coutertops with Leggari about 5 years ago, and they're still going strong, still as gorgous as the day I installed them.
I did mine with stone coat three years ago and still holding up great.
Would love to see you try it on a larger scale like your kitchen to see if it adds any challenges or if it is just as easy.
Yes. Pour it on the house countertops, but maybe with another color or swap the pigments, make it black with white streaks.
I've used StoneCoat for years. Love it! Zero VOCs, long pot life, great working medium.
YES! Please redo the countertops. I loved the whole series of you guys redoing your kitchen but it felt unfinished because of the countertops. I love Stone Coat and really want to redo the counters in my kitchen but I'm not quite there yet. Please let me live vicariously through you. 😂💙
I've used SCC for about 3 years now and they have a ton of helpful videos. Their ultimate top coat (matte, or gloss) is some super durable stuff that won't scratch, mar, fade, etc.. I highly recommend that if you do anymore countertops in the shop. Hell, even at home. The piece you did there looks great nice work.
Yes, definitely re-do your kitchen countertops!!!!
Big YES to the kitchen! Any excuse to see more home renovations
Love stone coat, love John Malecki! I have used the stone coat on several projects for home and office. Can't say enough of about how both channels have motivated and inspired me to do more projects. of course the desk I use daily is coated in stone coat epoxy and inspired by some of John's work.
Both tops look awesome, always in for more home reno videos. Have been waiting to do something like this for the laundry room counter... a lot cheaper than stone. Love the channel and what you guys are doing
I’m about to do a full kitchen renovation and am pretty much convinced Stone Coat is my best option for countertops. So glad to watch The John Malecki tried it out first!
Definitely looks awesome. Do it at the house
You guys should also look into leggari epoxy as well for counter tops and floors. I haven’t used them but have watched lots of videos on them and stone coat and from the videos leggari seems easier. But both have awesome results
Looks great, absolutely use it on the countertops. And if you like the matte finish check out their ultimate top coat, it gives that honed stone look and is tough as hell.
Stoked to see you guys using Stonecoat. I have been a fan of theirs and used their products for years. I’m confident you will love it for a long time.
Thank you for testing this product. I’m renovating our new house with this stuff so I’m so glad to see someone I trust use it and say they like it. Great video
I did the same marble kit for my laundry room remodel and we love them as well. I will say that definitely don’t try to do a ton at one time because they say you got plenty of time to work it but that time goes by fast when doing a few pieces at once. Easy and cheap to redo though if you mess up :)
I love stone coat have used it a bunch comes out great even when you mess up. You can do counters, showers, floors, river tables and the art projects. Love there product.
To add an even more authentic stone look, try roughly adding Bondo to the edges and then sanding down the high points. It gives it a "chiseled stone" look on the edges. Very nice!
Nice tip!
I have used the stuff for years. Made a desk top for my kid, made a couple tv trays and if I can do it, anyone can. Its fun to play with and all the differing colors, there is a lot you can do with it.
Yes , do your countertops. I've used automotive bondo on the edges to mimic a natural stone look and it looks great.
I say do it to the kitchen with Sam of course. Lol It looks freaking awesome!
Extra points for using the original cover for Blink 182. The second and third release had a nurse with a white hat, as opposed to using "the red cross",which defies the Geneva convention.🤘
That is freaking cool. Probably going this route for my bathroom counters instead of doing a concrete top. Keeps weight and cost down and looks just as good
Stone coat is great, I used it for my Walnut bar top it turned out beautifully, and their customer service was great when I had questions.
Did my counter tops with this. Used spray paint with it and some flake. Been three years now and still looks like I did when I did it. Holds up great.
I used this on bathroom countertops…I went simple quarts looks. Came out awesome
How has it held up with the steam and stuff? And did you also use MDF?
I built my own kitchen and bathroom countertops (first time to ever do anything like that) and used Stonecoat epoxy. They have a roll on sealer that gives the matte finish you were aiming for, and would still be food safe if you were doing kitchen counters. Rubio, I suppose, is okay for a bathroom but would probably need reapplied periodically. I love Stonecoat epoxy and can't wait to do more projects.
I think it's the ultimate topcoat product that gives it the matte look. Plus it is super super durable.
Thanks for doing this. I have watched a gillion of their vids and was scared to try. Gotta go for it, now that you proved it out.
That came out really nicely. I think about this process whenever I walk by a worn out coffee table or something. I picture doing this to the top.
Looks awesome would love to see you do your countertops, I am thinking about redoing our entire kitchen now
I did my kitchen tops with this product and we couldn't be happier.
That looks absolutely stunning! I'd definitely be interested to see it, if you decide to use it on your kitchen worktop.
Beautiful!! You can frame theme like a picture- it's a work of art!!
I'd like to see your countertops redone. But, definitely use the Ultimate Top Coat from Stone Coat Countertops.
You should consider some of the videos from RK3 Designs on You Tube!
Also, I'd love to see you and Mike do some projects together. I love both of your work!
I love this and think you did an awesome job! For the next time, and especially if you do the kitchen counters again, I recommend investing in some quality PPE (as resin fumes are toxic, even in a well-ventilated environment) and making sure to support the MDF all the way across to avoid the bowing you had in that one.
Seen their videos and questioned if it truly was that cool and think I will try it after you did this! Also give it a shot on your kitchen counters! You don’t like them so you can’t ruin it only improve or help you make the decision to redo them!
yes
Looks great I’d love to see a video of you redoing your kitchen countertops
Awesome was thinking about doing one of stone coats kits as well.
Try reverse cast concrete countertops.. they are super simple to make and turn out better than any pour in or over products on the market.
You dont know how amped I got on my lunch break when I saw theirs a new video up!
Uou just scratched a tiny surface of whats possible with stone coat epoxy! Ive done a ton of tops & people love it! The color and techniques are literally endless! Looks good!
We've been thinking about doing this too. You made it look easy!
Great product I have used it many of times. Going to make new countertop here in the new couple months.
I love this channel! Honestly this has me wanting to do woodworking and epoxy myself. That said I have a question due to my lack of knowledge, what kind of wood board did you use for this?
You should absoulty do your kitchen countertops! They have a product called the ultimate top coat that you can get in gloss or matte that really takes a beating. I can't wait to do mine!
LOOKS GREAT Keep on banging out the awesome content
That's impressive
I have to say, I am not sponsored by or connected to Stone Coat but when we bought a house and it had those hideous pink laminate countertops, as a temporary solution for a year or so, I did a Stone Coat finish over the top and it turned out great! I'm not sure it would be what I would do as a long-term kitchen, but for 18 months we had it on our countertops and it was MUCH better than what was there originally and only cost like $120 for the whole countertop.
We did the black one with the white marble spray effect. Looked great (though it did lose the luster of its original sheen and turn more matte over time).
Really like it at 7:38. After sand it, is more blurry and less details.
Yes to doing the kitchen counter tops
Love the Blink cover pop up as John puts on gloves
House countertop are a must to complete the kitchen
John, I am thinking about doing this now with a small countertop we are adding to basement on top of some cabinets. MDF is flat and stable but should I seal the bottom with something so it does not get wet when cleaning?
I'd seal both sides.
for more scratch resistant top with a matte finish use the stone coat ultimate top coat
It looks damn awesome man, but i had just a question. Is it warped a bit? Cuz it seems in the video that it is. Great project otherwise, loved the end look.
Woodpecker square for a circular saw guide. That is the classiest cut I’ve seen in awhile.
I've worked with epoxy for 4 years. Played with other epoxies that were less expensive...never again! Nothing but trouble with the off brands. From fish eyes, divets and disgusting oders to severe allergic reactions that still affect me over a year later. SCC is the best and worth the extra money. I've never had any issues with it and highly recommend recovering your countertops with it.
Gotta love the Johnny bravo reference, new floor goofin
Never clicked on a video faster 😂❤️🍻
You should do your counters you hate plus look at stonecoat countertops play list for other finishes for matte, honed, or leathered looks
Legarri also has some really cool products. They have one that makes it look like concrete, I would love to see u try them out as well
Superglue the brush fibers near the handle. Something I learned from a fan of industry garage.
Pretty interesting work, John! Fantastic! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
You should do it to your kitchen man. It came out bad ass. I’m definitely blown away by how it turned out.
Yes to trying it in Johns kitchen.
Would you suggest that if this needs a sink cutout, do it prior to the finish, or afterwards?
Yes, please do the kitchen counters!
You did FANTASTIC!!! I’m a SCC Distributor and would LOVE to do a RUclips colab with ya!!! 😊😊
Looks beautiful its exactly how I would of wanted it.
Hey. Thanks. Great review.
Stone coat is a phenomenal product, we redid our countertops and we love them!
Love it.
A collaboration video of you and Stone Coat Countertops would be awesome you should do it
I’ve used that product in a few different kitchens, and my clients have loved it. I especially like that odd shapes can be made without seems.
Have been wondering about this stuff may have to try this out
Yes I think you should do your home counter tops with this stuff
A little bit late, I just recently found your channel, love your videos
Totally need to redo the kitchen countertops!
Nice job, definitely do your counters
How well does this do with heat? Like if hot pasta or a hot pan gets on the counter
I painted my countertop and used a "sea sponge" to dap the dark color on.
You got this! Oh wrong channel. 😜
When calculating volume, 1mm thick pour for a square meter is 1 liter of epoxy. Which translate roughly to 0.04 inches thickness to about 9 square feet is about a quarter gallon or so. An inch thickness would therefore be 25 times that or about 6 gallons.
Definitely give it a try with your kitchen counters
Okay. Now to do yours at home! Nice looking top😎
Would this kind of finish be durable for outdoor use if you added epoxy to both sides?
Looks amazing. I would think that is authentic stone if I didn’t just watch it being made.
Hey how much would you charge for a mold just like your Steeler one you did but for the Raiders
Love your channel. That epoxy countertop is fine as frog hair. Can you pour over existing countertops. What would be the prep>
Looks great!
Looks great. Do it in your house. My grandmother's is very similar pattern except hers is white with blue.
Very cool project boys. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends keep making. Stay Squirrely. God bless.
Yes.
Can food be prepped on with or without the Rubio topcoat?
Yes definitely do your kitchen
Yes! Do your kitchen counters.
