As a casual gamer who also thought the original Dawn of the Dead movie was great ever since I’ve anticipated a game that uses the same plot line. Dead Rising should have been that game. I’ve since bought and played many zombie games. Most are enjoyable but not exactly what I want them to be. Recently I’ve played RE4 VR on Meta Quest 2 and it is now my favourite version of this classic game. Honourable mention must go to Days Gone. Less zombie, more infected taking on hordes is not for the faint hearted. Nice list, thanks for posting.
Wow. So many zombie games! Over the last year, I have replayed every pre-RE5 Resident Evil released available on Series X and they all hold up in their own way. I was surprised how much fun I had on RE4 of all games. Then I did another run on the Trumbull Valley map in State of Decay 2. Still great. I hope with Microsft taking control of Activision in a few years, we get some kind of collection of classic CoD Zombies maps. I never liked how much the newer maps make you run around. I always enjoyed hunkering down and making supply runs for perkacola in those games.
@@JMMREVIEW What was better was them adding the Homecoming map to the base game last year. There was more story and meaning to the locations of that map so it was nice to explore it all again with the adjustable difficulty.
As a big fan of zombie games, I think the perfect game would be a mix of dead rising, days gone and state of decay. A big open world, but more urban than days gone, where you have differents factions, vehicles to drive and maintain with the state of decay resources and crew management, a game in third person where you have to do missions for the different factions across the map, while trying to maintain a neutral approach or you can join one if you want, which could impact the story, a bit like the stalker games. The dead rising way for weapons, you can pickup pretty much everything to use as a weapon, or upgrade the ones you have, or your vehicles. It,s would be awesome.
Literally been watching your videos since I was 9 years old and you calling back to Dead Rising being number in your first list in 2010 made me feel so old LOL. RUclips has changed so much but you can always take the time machine back to when things were better, even if for a brief moment.
I am so glad I watched this video! Like seriously! I was trying to find a game like project zomboid for the Xbox since it’s only a PC game. The Last Stand Aftermath reminds me so much of the game! You just got a sub from me!
7:11 Worse yet, one of the achievements in the game calls for you to kill 65, 000-odd zombies. That's the ENTIRE POPULATION OF WILLAMETTE, where the mall is. How do they keep respawning?
My dad used to play State Of Decay on 360 like 5 years ago, it looks awesome so I’m gonna try to get it since he has it download in the Xbox series X :)
Deadrising but first person shooter with good graphics and good guests and where you eventually leave the mall and go to the street and different locations
I remember playing the last stand when I was a kid it was my favorite flash game. I like that the starting character even if he does die looks like the original guy
I want to get back into gaming mostly just for apocalypse games. This video was pretty helpful because I can’t decide between new xbox or ps5. I have been leaning more towards the ps5 because of the last of us and a few other games. Unfortunately I am still not sure what one to go with
These are great zombie Games bro. I love zombie Games !! Dead rising has too be one of the best zombie Games ever made!! I feel like the Xbox is missing out on a couple of phenomenal zombie Games tho. They are Days Gone which is criminally underrated!!!!! And the last of us 2. If you have not played those games bro I urge you to do you will not regret it!!!
@@JMMREVIEW I wouldn't say so . Very exciting missions & great gameplay & aesthetic. The zombies are called freakers & are real fast . You ride around on your bike , but you have too fill up with Gas & if you run out & freakers get you man it's scary like thousands of them in a horde. I think it's a little Gem.
That would have been really nice! I missed out on that game when it came out and I can't find it anywhere where I live and I don't want to order it used from another country because the last time I did that with a game, the case and disk came in 4 pieces and the seller lied about which region it was for 🫤
I try and only pick one game per series to give the list more variety and I have chosen State Of Decay 2 instead. When State Of Decay 3 comes out it will probably be on my next list.
"The source Engine is a masterpiece" Clearly you've never worked on the source engine lol. It can be a real headache to work with at times. Unreal is much Easier and better imo of course.
I am not referring to developing games using the engine, I am talking about playing games on the engine and specifically back when source was released. Of course Unreal is better now but not back when source was released.
I don’t mean this in a mean way AT ALL, But man, I hate when people “rate” or “judge” sod2 yet they aren’t even good at it, In the video on the sod2 clip, he almost dies and is just shooting zombies while having some behind him, this never happens if your even slightly good at the game, just something I wanted to point out, I love your videos, not hating
anyone here in 2024
I really need to do a 2024 version of this!
Nooo

State of Decay Homecoming was a very nice surprise hope we can play SoD 3 when it comes to game pass.
@@JMMREVIEW What was better was them adding the Homecoming map to the base game last year. There was more story and meaning to the locations of that map so it was nice to explore it all again with the adjustable difficulty.
I still play stubbs the zombie.. was so expensive had to buy it again a year ago.
the legend returns!
🤣

Dito.
SoD2 is probably the best community/survival zombie game that has ever been made, the devs are constanty releasing new updates for it too.
I heard it just got an update, but I haven't tried it yet. Is it any good?
@@JMMREVIEW Its not bad, I enjoy it, it changes how the plague hearts work, also allows you to send out survivors to destroy plague hearts
@029 20 I'm looking forward to SoD3 surprised we haven't heard more about it.
@@JMMREVIEW honestly, I think they're using SoD2 as a testing ground for 3, maybe that's why we are getting all the new changes and updates
@029 20 that's what I have been thinking, at the very least you would hope they will use what they have learnt working on SoD2.
Dying Light 2 had lots of bad crítics. I not consider Dying Light 1 in Number One of your list
Bro put the last stand aftermath and didn’t put dying light 1 on The list 💀
I loved that game. Haven't played 2 yet but I hear it's not as good. But he did put dying light as a honorable mention
7:11 Worse yet, one of the achievements in the game calls for you to kill 65, 000-odd zombies. That's the ENTIRE POPULATION OF WILLAMETTE, where the mall is. How do they keep respawning?
haha yeah, I really wished they would stop spawning after you kill the population number.

Totally agree I wish there were more zombie games set in a mall.

I love re2 remake and dying light 2.

I've never played Days Gone but it always looked very scripted to me is that the case?

@@ubatzstronz6414 thanks for the recommendation I'll keep it in mind 👍
Left for dead 1 is still my favorite zombie game ❤ it
If you like L4D I would recommend Back 4 Blood.
Have u ever had the last stand aftermath crash?
I can't remember a time where it crashed no.
Dying Light is STILL the best.🤷♂️
state of decay 2 easily
BRO! I made a nickname for State of Decay called S.O.D and I couldn’t remember what it standard for😂😂😂😂, THANK YOUUUUU!!!
Am I the only one that still craves a Survival Horror Game...?
No you are not! You should check out Tormented Souls ruclips.net/video/Pz2ZsoWmjsg/видео.html
I enjoyed Dying light 2 but honestly I loved the first one. Especially the DLC and the better rag doll physics
I Just wonder when the walking dead survival instinct will become backwards compatible
I think they have stopped the backwards compatibility program so no new games will be added but the ones that are compatible will remain playable.
That would have been really nice!

I was playing all these games when I was ten
So many hate RE3: remake but I love that….honestly I love it way more than re2:remake
People hate it because it could of been dlc. Done right it would of been amazing
Playstation has all these games plus probably the best zombie games ever made, Days Gone and The Last of Us.
They don’t have State of Decay 2 tho
The last stand has always had that map where you run outa gas
I wonder did The Walking Dead copy last stand then?
@@JMMREVIEW more then likely I mean last stand started as like a flash game I used to play it all the time when I was younger
what about Stay Of Decay?
I try and only pick one game per series to give the list more variety and I have chosen State Of Decay 2 instead. When State Of Decay 3 comes out it will probably be on my next list.
i think DL1 is better in almost all ways compared to 2
After playing DL2 for a few months after making this video I agree with you, it was a bit of a let down. DL2 will not be as high on my next list!
Left 4 dead 2 is my number 1
How can you put Dying Light 2 on the 1st place. While, clearly, the first one was way better...
Dying light should’ve made the list it was such a good game
I try and stick to one game per franchise for my lists just for variety really.
The best zombie game of all time is Left4Dead

Subjectively L4D can look better to YOU but I was talking Objectively.
U can not convince me that L4D looks better than b4B u have to be near blind to think that dude.
No killing floor 2
