Changing up the scenery with a huge Egyptian/Ancient world fighting its way up the Nile River to the Pyramids would be unique and amazing! Yes, I just want some ancient zombie games rather than all modern or the occasional sci fi one Medieval zombies also has some room for zombie types without going rediculous (IE, a zombie knight, just a regular zombie, but with full plate armor)
I doubt you guys will see this but you should definitely do a deep dive on Project Zomboid. It's such an hidden gem with years of development with an incredible modding and multiplayer community.

Haven't played DL2 since release, and man is that game alot of fun. The sounds of the city are satisfying, the NPC interactions are great, ( not as good as the first). But overall, excellent zombie game and I'm pumped to play again in a couple of months to see all the new updates.
Honestly it doesn't compare to the first with how many details the first game has. There will not be very many games that could come close to the first Dying light.

State of Decay 2 is still rolling along strong, with update 30 (THIRTY!! and it's free) due this month with some pretty major overhauls to certain systems. It's already a great game, with a bit of a different spin on the genre because it's about managing a community of survivors, not just your character. Highly recommend it, especially if you have Game Pass. I can't wait till we hear something concrete about State of Decay 3!

DL2 Is one of the best parkour games of all time and one of worst zombie games of all time as well. I had lots of fun climbing,jumping,chasing,flying,crawling,runing beside the wall And got huge disppointment about what I expected from a survival zombie game which is simple,a world without governing of one rule,lack of enough resources,feeling lonely while considering an unknown mystery beging to be solved and at last and most feeling too much FEAR. Lots of potential on this game has been wasted into a fantasy unrealistic world. original dying light stands superior in every kind of aspect in this genre except of not enough high jumps made you always fear not to fall😂
@kaeotik to be honest I played DL1 not the time it released but I played too much RDR2 and AC stuff so I needed a new atmosphere I'd played Dead Island 2 before playing DL1 and some other gamers had told me DL is well screenwrited narative open world game which make you having sympathy with Cyle Crane and it did even years after its released its well enough realistic world with added some batman stuff like graple hook which make DL1 gameplay so smooth and so fast,I have never experienced any bugs not even a simple one so that epic game forced me to try the 2nd version directly and I expected most of all a good story which is another frustration at the 2nd episode too. Zombies are not frightening at all The entire atmosphere looks like a half modern half medival world with some fancy modern zombies alongside of dumb old ones with no real story about virus spreading that had occoured new types exactly like the first episode or a truimph zombie game like LOU part 1. Another problem is the environment Roofs,lights,grass,trees are too shiney too much live and warm colors Make you feel safe and secure and also lighthearted at any time of the day Vice versa DL1 Even after 200 hours of playing and finishing the story three times in a row still feelling the fear of volatiles snorings when the night comes!

The sequel is a disappointing one for sure, side quests like quarantine zones have lazy design, they all looked the same and bland. The new introduction of zombie chase level is a joke really, imagine you are the volatile and you have to wait for permission to hunt the player on level 4 chase lol, totally unrealistic.(They could have added an area with volatile nest and doesn't matter which chase level you are at night, they will come and hunt you down, which i think makes the game even better.) I know the design team has to cater the taste to all kinds of players but come the fuck on. I lost my hope with techland and already put them same category as cdprojektred, in the bin.
I gotta agree on the worst zombie game part, i literally forgot the game was supposed to be a zombie game partway through my first playthrough. There's just way too many human enemies to fight, and the nightime, while having great sound design, is so insanely easy unless you actively try to get a chase going.

Wish Devs would get away from Syfy and get back to realism and have it where the player isn’t punished for using their favorite gun. Say you like using a classic AK47 but the M4 does 10x more damage your pretty much forced to use the m4 over the AK47, or say you like using a sniper but an SKS does more damage and has a higher fire rate then you can’t get into the old school sniper style you want to play. Or what’s even worse is like in the division’s weapons system you get your favorite gun but you have to trade it out for a higher level gun that’s not your style. I’m also tire of the syfy shooters with exo suits and special powers, guns that look like they came out of a cartoon. I just want realism back in gameplay
The Callisto Protocol a zombie game? I know it takes a huge inspiration from the Dead Space universe, and in Dead Space those creatures doesn't look like zombies. But still, there haven't been really any cool horror games lately, this should probably be something else considering the director is coming back again from the original Dead Space game.
Necromorphs aren’t zombies. As you say they don’t look like zombies because they’re nothing to do with zombies. They get infected and turn into creatures who attack. But it’s a very specific enemy type that spreads infection, (I’m 99% sure about both of these ^>) and the marker itself infecting people.
7 Days to Die, on Steam. Alpha 20 came out this year with 21 on the near horizon. Mod community is HUGE and some mods completely change the entire gameplay.

Other than the telltale games which are mostly great. It is baffling how there hasn't been another good walking dead game. It's not like a difficult series to adapt into a game lol. Like alien, smh.
Actually. One I can remember was. Trying to keep vague but also kind of hard to. The cannibals. I remember that being done in an extremely dark building with a camera focus on someone not even taking part in the brutality. It stuck with me because I could still feel the emotion of everyone in that room.
In my opinion, Dying Light 2 is the absolute best and most interesting zombie game i have played ever. it challenges you to make decisions that will alter how the rest of your story goes, it can be difficult at times due to a few story points where you are running from an insane amount of zombies, but i 100% recommend this game to anyone who is into long, interesting, fun stories.

If you like Zombies, Base building, and with a hint of Personnel management and RPG, you will like State of Decay 2. Up to this day it is still being supported by the Devs.
Biters and Bullets is fun. Neat little take on the Vampire Survivors style of horde twin-stick/one-stick shooters (and it has both styles). The main draw is how the behavior of the zombie swarm more or less requires you to use the level geometry as a defense, because they don't come at you in predictable patterns with big natural gaps like VS. Slick graphics too - the buildings do a cool thing where they flatten near to the ground when you're behind them for maximum visibility. The boss design ain't half bad either. Balance issues abound, but it's a good foundation for a fun mindless blaster. Hooked On You, the Dead By Daylight dating sim, is getting a lot of positive feedback on Steam. But I'm still mad they didn't call it Dead By Date Night. I mean, come on. You have a dating sim and a zombie pun waiting to happen. That joke could have totally killed it.
Hi Gameranx, you forgot to mention The Last Of Us Part 1 Remake. But I'm glad you didn't mention that game as it's already been released twice on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. 😅😅

I love zombie games but I’m honestly sick of them. I want a horror survival crafting game (like 7 days to die or the forest) but with legit monsters and not cannibals or zombies.
Callisto Protocol is not just inspired by Dead Space, it's made by some of the people from Visceral Games, most notably director Glen Schofield. The studio got shut down by EA in 2017.

Would love an actually good walking dead game
Other than the telltale games which are mostly great. It is baffling how there hasn't been another good walking dead game. It's not like a difficult series to adapt into a game lol. Like alien, smh.
Actually. One I can remember was. Trying to keep vague but also kind of hard to. The cannibals. I remember that being done in an extremely dark building with a camera focus on someone not even taking part in the brutality. It stuck with me because I could still feel the emotion of everyone in that room.
Man i want a PS5 so much for GOW Ragnarok and Callisto, these two games will be very satisfying to experience.

In my opinion, Dying Light 2 is the absolute best and most interesting zombie game i have played ever. it challenges you to make decisions that will alter how the rest of your story goes, it can be difficult at times due to a few story points where you are running from an insane amount of zombies, but i 100% recommend this game to anyone who is into long, interesting, fun stories.
I was just looking around my room for unopened games and found the disc for dying light 2, I never heard of this game before. I’ll give it a try and let you know what I think.

Biters and Bullets is fun. Neat little take on the Vampire Survivors style of horde twin-stick/one-stick shooters (and it has both styles). The main draw is how the behavior of the zombie swarm more or less requires you to use the level geometry as a defense, because they don't come at you in predictable patterns with big natural gaps like VS. Slick graphics too - the buildings do a cool thing where they flatten near to the ground when you're behind them for maximum visibility. The boss design ain't half bad either. Balance issues abound, but it's a good foundation for a fun mindless blaster.
Hooked On You, the Dead By Daylight dating sim, is getting a lot of positive feedback on Steam. But I'm still mad they didn't call it Dead By Date Night. I mean, come on. You have a dating sim and a zombie pun waiting to happen. That joke could have totally killed it.

Down with the tongue-in-cheek and multiplayer based games. Up with solo grim atmospheric survival horror. Stronger connections of despair and fear instead of feeling like a cartoon character.
Would love something like the Korean show 'All of Us Are Dead'. Survival builder with multiple options of how to escape. Picking up survivors and clearing spaces as you go
I love zombie games but I’m honestly sick of them. I want a horror survival crafting game (like 7 days to die or the forest) but with legit monsters and not cannibals or zombies.

Callisto Protocol is not just inspired by Dead Space, it's made by some of the people from Visceral Games, most notably director Glen Schofield. The studio got shut down by EA in 2017.

I’m beginning to learn that the more “realistic” and more money they shell out for graphics the less likely the game will ever see the light of day and if it does so much of the stuff that’s supposed to make it actually fun is sacrificed for the sake of it looking pretty
You should've pointed out that the Calisto protocol isn't inspired by dead space but it is actually made by the original dead space developer team along with the lead developer who created the game
