I really appreciate this video series. It was instrumental in my selection of this machine. Videos like yours are great for someone who never had any exposure to sewing. I don't always feel comfortable asking for help in person (generally feeling like the only guy who has ever been in the store). I'm looking forward to enjoying this machine and new hobby for years to come.
I bought this sewing machine Emerald 118 about 10 years ago brand new. Took a class to make pajama pants then had to move so packed it up. Just got it back out (life happened) and it looks foreign to me. I have no clue how to set it up or work it. Now I should be able to at least thread the machine. Hoping to learn how to use it finally. I can’t find anymore classes. Thank you for this.
Thank you for these videos! I have saved the playlist and will be coming back again and again to refresh my memory and learn some new tricks with my machine. I like your quick speed of talking. To each his own. I am so appreciative!
Thank you for your tutorial. I just got my Husqvarna Viking Emerald 116 in the mail. Wish I had watched this first and gotten the 118. Read the manual before I plugged the machine in, but watching this video is much easier. Now I have to find the threading the needle video. Thanks again! P.S. You do not talk too loud or too fast. You are just perfect!
Thank you so much for this video! (And the other videos in this series). It allowed me to get up and running much quicker. I used to sow 25 years ago. I am happy to see that this machine has some neat smart functions to make life easier, and you help me discover them! Thanks so much
Hadn't used my machine for a couple years but needed to make some Covid mask. This video was great to familiarize me with my machine and remember what a GREAT MACHINE it is
I just got this thing for Christmas, and I had my first lesson on it yesterday. I was pleased to find this tutorial to keep me from cussing out the machine and myself! It seems easy enough, setting it up, but it's still so new to me. Any particular reason the needle up/down button wouldn't work? Did I have the machine threaded the wrong way?
I have this exact same machine and i have to ask how exactly you were able to get the bobbin thread pulled up so quickly. ive had this for approximately 2 years and it takes me on average an hour and a half to get the thread up. ive tried it the way you demonstrated in the video, ive pushed it into the bank toward the needle (as shown on the bobbin cover), ive opened the entire case and screwed around with it until the thread came up, and every way leads to more frustration.
Should the thread that is in the x pattern always only be used on the horizontal spool holder? Or can the stacked on be used on that? (My first time sewing ever and my hubby bought me this machine).
Hi Carisa, It is recommended to place cross-wound thread on the horizontal spool holder and the stacked thread on the vertical holder. The rest of the videos in this series will help tons! Thanks for watching. ~Sara~
I am sorry to make this comment, but this video is not good. The woman speaks so fast and do not show step by step, she just run and run. This is a youtube video, why the rush!!!!!! Why the camera does not came close and show us very close? She talks so fast ... There is not need to talk so fast, it is not a real classroom.
Probably because this is not a beginner's machine and she's talking as if you have a good knowledge of using a sewing machine previously, since this machine is more intermediate price range. I found that she didn't talk fast at all and understood everything the first time.

Alguien me puede ayudar a encontrar instrucciones en español, muchísimas gracias
My hook timing is off so my machine (Viking Emerald 118) isn't picking up the bobbin thread. How can I fix this?
Hi, When the needle will not bring up the bobbin thread, it is time for a trip to your local sewing service store. ~Sara~
You can't see anything... The loop you pulled up with the bobbin. No clue what happened there.
