Thanks for the mentioning about the stretch needle! I was just about to give up trying to sew a very thin stretchy polyester fabric. The 'normal' needle just was not taking it at all. Gonna try the stretch needle, hoping it'll work better =)

Love your series, taught me how to use, but... 1:00 - I don't understand, you said zigzag, but you had it on no1 (straight). In this setting, altering the width only alters the position of the needle. Yet... you did have a stretchy straight stitch on 1.5mm length. I don't get how this is possible.

I also bought an Eden Rose 250m 4 or 5 years ago. Could never understand some settings/features until I found these videos. My machine looks so similar to the emerald 118. Is it a version of the same machine? Only difference seems to be color: pink (ugh) versus green (wish mine was).

Hello! At around 2:00 you say you are switching to a zigzag stitch but the stitch selector is still on #1.....what am I missing here? Sorry I'm pretty new at this machine and sewing, in general.
At 11 minutes I believe you moved the Pressure Foot to 0 instead of 1. It is hard to tell because the machine is at an angle. So far I am loving your videos.
No, it was no1. To tell the truth I can't tell that the pressure is much different, however I put it on zero when doing very thin silk to stop it gathering up when I sew.
My machine has suddenly stopped switching to the white row of stitches. It just won't do it. Any tips before I take it in?

How do I increase the speed when sewing? I know about the speed indicator on the machine and I know about the speed on the foot but, no matter how much I press with my foot or how high I have it on the machine, it's a s l o w speed. What else can it be? I've had this machine for many years and never had this happen.
Hi Katherine, Is your bobbin winder on? That will cause the machine to sew slow and your needle up/down button not to work.
How do we know which needle is a *stretch* needle?
