Instead of bringing new internals to the iPhone SE 2016 Apple choose to update the faulty curved glass display into SE 2020 and SE 2022 keep them as slim as possible so that you're forced to upgrade 1-2 years down the line due to failing battery. Not much on the market in terms of a phone that is actually a tool and not a media consumption device. The media and the technology companies don't make a small phone not because there isn't demand but because they want you to be glued to the screen. This is just another way of showing how capitalism doesn't work for you. Small phones are minimalistic, utilitarian tools but the problem for companies is that they don't consume content, apps and features from their market place. Sure there are "distraction free phones however these are missing basic indispensable features such as navigation (for which Apple and Google share a monopoly and nobody talks about it - hint . . both being in the US) and messaging apps. Basically the opportunity to install apps.
