@@spicydong317For real. All that amazing story and world building lost behind cryptic item descriptions, which must be told by lore channels... it's a tragedy.
I adore Ansbach's dialogue here, he is probably my second favorite character in the dlc just because he feels like the lost nobility of Mohg back to take its vengence. An idea that maybe, just maybe, Mohg was not entirely a lunatic and was (perhaps slightly) more than the raving nightmare we saw as a boss.
If the fight extends a little you can hear this epic dialogue: Leda: “I can’t fathom to understand your reasons, how has it come to this?” Ansbach: “you and I, fighting, what a tragedy”.
Completing everyone's quest is basically mandatory for this fight. If you don't do that you won't get the full experience and the fight itself will be extremely tedious. But man is it worth it in the end

I think from everything that’s talked about from this fight, I think the most striking thing is the arena. Specifically how it just becomes ABSOLUTELY covered with EVERYONE’S blood, yours included during this fight In a way, It truly felt like you were making an art piece with everyone here fighting for their ideals. And that EVERYONE left a piece of themselves there
Leda: I'm sorry for speaking to you as a compatriot when we stood before the withered arm. Me: Heh, was this your first time in the position being betrayed by a compatriot, Leda? Then clearly, you have never earned a seat at the Roundtable Hold.
looking at her lore, it's indeed possible that it's her first time in the position as the betrayed. it certainly wouldn't be her first time in the role of the traitor though. it seems like a paranoia-driven urge to stab all her allies in the back has been an issue for her since long before she started following Miquella (if anything Miquella's charm suppressed her worst traits for quite a while. she might just be the only one where the charm was a good thing)

For me it was Leda, Moore, Dane vs Me & Ansbach. Didn't look up what I needed to do for Thiollier and Freyja so they didn't make it and I helped Leda kill Hornsent before he could reach Messmer.
Yeah I also missed out on the Freyja questline, got ansbach in the right spot in that library area but he was gone after i progressed something (not sure what). So it was me ansbach and thiollier vs leda Moore and dane
May honestly be my favorite fight in the DLC. Might not be the hardest but story, execution, music, voice acting, and just everything about it pushes it ahead of everyone COUGHYKNOWIFYOUDIDALLTHESIDEQUESTSANDHAVEYOUROWNGANKSQUADTOOCOUGH
Yeah it was just me and Ansbach and it was ROUGH 😭 I caved for the first time in my 300 hours of Elden Ring and used mimic tear to win since winning the gank is largely just RNG, not skill… fighting Malenia for 70+ attempts was fine with me because whenever I failed, it was because I either mistimed a dodge or didn’t know the boss well enough. Whenever I died to this gank it was because the npc’s AI decided to heal or run me down as a group without giving me a chance to breathe. Also as much as I love Moore I feel sad that I rejoiced whenever he died because holy shit those rot pots made the fight so much fucking harder than it had to be 😭
this is the best gank/npc fight they've ever made, its so emotional and fun and powerful, the music made me start rethinking my actions and it was truly a wonderful fight
This fight is so beautiful and I’d argue even more climactic if you stand mostly alone against all your friends… but holy shit the DLC absolutely PUNISHES YOU if you don’t finish everyone’s questlines. I just had Ansbach and holy SHIT he was passive af so it was essentially me vs everyone. (Also I want to clarify I was at 18 scadutree levels at this point) After about 20 attempts and realizing my success was entirely dependent on rng (mainly, the npc ai choosing to heal or not, as well as which NPC Ansbach managed to aggro since he was so passive he never aggro’d more than one) I caved and used mimic tear for the first time in my 300 hours of Elden Ring. I won immediately and it wasn’t even close. This is still an amazing fight purely because of the lore behind it and the emotion of it but holy SHIT it is hands down the worst designed fight in all of Elden Ring. If you only have Ansbach with you or are by yourself you are COOKED. Freyja’s fun to fight (though her lion claw CAN one-shot), Hornsent is disgusting and horrible and an actual plague-infested rat (those orbs he summons one-shot at 1850 hp and are hard to avoid if Hornsent and Freyja are running you down), Moore would be fine if it weren’t for those DAMN ROT POTS that cover 5 square kilometers (and good luck using a bolus or using flame cleanse me when Leda and Dane are running you down), Dane is also a miserable rat (not as much as Hornsent ofc) because he makes it very apparent that NPC’s have NO stamina (he’s easy to kill by himself but the issue is if you ever need to heal you can’t, he is ALWAYS sprinting at you so if you let him get close you CANNOT get him out of your face since YOU can’t run indefinitely but HE can- combine that with his quick attacks as well as the other npcs running you down and Dane becomes the guy who finishes you off most of the time), and lastly Leda… her Ash of War does massive damage if it hits but it’s easy to dodge- the issue is similar to Dane- she is always running you down and it’s really hard to recover since she and Dane are always on your ass.
This is exactly how it played out for me. The 2 vs 5 was just awfull so i used the mimic the first time in that run. Its only on level 4 but already made the fight a joke
This fight hurts me. More then any other game. These people were your allies. Warriors who fought by side against bosses that motivate and feel like a real team when you summon them. Making me BELIEVE that miquella was worth fighting for and helping them. Then you find out who miquella truly was and what he really did to them. All because they were charmed and manipulated into doing miquellas bidding. When freed, they were so deep gone and believed he was right they still took his side. Miquellas influence and ambition on them, completely made them enemies to us. And having to make once allies turn enemies hurts because you know that deep down, they are victims. I know that Elden Ring makes it clear no matter what you do, everyone and anyone will turn on you in this game or will die because you cant stop them. But those that stay by your side, those that fight with you, those that motivate, inspire and make you feel strong just being there, those are real comrades in the game.
Nah this fight was honestly bullshit. Took me more tries than the actual bosses. They gang up on you and continously chase after you with infinite stamina and gank you with bullshit moves that almost one shot.
@EfecanYSL Yeah, this is a cinematic fight but they should cut the tongues out of the guys who keep saying "we should do player npc gank fight again". Stick to good boss design like the fire giant and radagon.
@EfecanYSL I never use summons, but no matter how fast I kill one npc, it always becomes 3 vs 1. This is when they gonna have to deal with two of me lol.
Neither of the player's allies in this fight are followers of Marika. Ansbach fights to avenge Mohg's defilement and Thiollier fights to fulfill St. Trina's wishes.
I don't know how we went from Halflight to this. This may honestly be my favourite DLC Boss. Never had so much emotions in a single fight and I can say that I replayed the DLC and completed all Questlines just for this fight to be perfect.
I think you have to complete all the quests or progress them to this point for them to show up. For some reason I have a Mohgwyn Dynasty guy there offering to help but idk what that’s about
How people could like this shitshow of a gank fest is beyond me, seriously if any other souslike did the exact same thing they'd be laughed at, ER does it and somehow it's "incredible".
Why do people think this fight is good? I genuinely consider it one of the worst encounters FromSoftware has ever created. The gank squad in DS2's first DLC is better than this mistake. 1. Hornsent's Barin does unreasonable damage and can possibly one-shot 2. Moore's Rot Pots have too big of a AoE where I get rotted when i don't see a cloud for and it doesn't directly hit me 3. It's too easy to get in a situation where you need to heal but the two NPCs chasing you won't go after your allies and only focus on you. a. Yes i know that you need to get them to take damage from them for their aggro to shift, the problem is that this requires going into danger when you're likely one-hit away from death. And going into the middle of a fight is a sure-fire way to get killed. However what ruined this fight for me was a failed attempt that i almost won where Asnbash killed the last one aside from the insufferable b**ch herself and would break aggro from me running away when one hit would kill me and go after the one acticely trying to kill her and not the one fleeing trying not to die. I like the idea of this fight, but the execution is so bad that removing it would make the DLC much better. Shame that such an incredible soundtrack was wasted on this shit.
They somehow made a up to 3v5 gank fight the most emotionally charged and cinematic fights in the whole series

Tarnished: All my friends are dead :(
Leda: I'm sorry for speaking to you as a compatriot when we stood before the withered arm.

looking at her lore, it's indeed possible that it's her first time in the position as the betrayed.
it certainly wouldn't be her first time in the role of the traitor though. it seems like a paranoia-driven urge to stab all her allies in the back has been an issue for her since long before she started following Miquella (if anything Miquella's charm suppressed her worst traits for quite a while. she might just be the only one where the charm was a good thing)

Also as much as I love Moore I feel sad that I rejoiced whenever he died because holy shit those rot pots made the fight so much fucking harder than it had to be 😭
My game glitched or something and only three bodies appeared. Last boss also died before I even got into the arena

Literally the coolest moment in the entire DLC
A boring pvp gank fight with cheesy dialogue? This was so lame
Thats actually epic .... The followers of mohg and st trina coming together to stop miquella
(Also I want to clarify I was at 18 scadutree levels at this point)
After about 20 attempts and realizing my success was entirely dependent on rng (mainly, the npc ai choosing to heal or not, as well as which NPC Ansbach managed to aggro since he was so passive he never aggro’d more than one) I caved and used mimic tear for the first time in my 300 hours of Elden Ring.
No mercy, grind the "age of compassion" into dust.

1. Hornsent's Barin does unreasonable damage and can possibly one-shot
2. Moore's Rot Pots have too big of a AoE where I get rotted when i don't see a cloud for and it doesn't directly hit me
