No forgiveness is not a side effect it is an action that someone does, it is a willingness to let go of any ill will or retribution. It does not require understanding as someone can understand someone’s reasons and still cannot forgive. It is not something native to humans as it only come from God Himself.

From his quotes about how he reveals in darkness, how it’s the hearts true essence even though it killed his friends. He killed his friend that he supposedly cherished without a hint of remorse. I get this is a massive retcon but this is just stupid.

    • @TheKira708
      @TheKira708 4 года назад +1

I’m on the fence about that. I think there was more to it then just that. Also he wasn’t completely alone, he did have his brother Eraqus whom he considered. I could understand if he lost *everything* an left completely alone.....but he did have people. Also his journey to different worlds and seeing everything end the same way possibly as his friends and being manipulated but the Mom and possibly Luxu, that’s what made him become the man he became.
Every Villain believes they are the Hero In there own story. I Imagine when the Master of Masters identity gets revealed we will all feel the same way.....like mabe the Mom lost people in his life too an he did all of this too change everything and to start over. I don’t mind the sympathetic villain but I feel like well hopefully they don’t over use it too much. I mean everybody hates Xigbar now too because he’s really Luxu an who knows what if we come to find out he lost family and friends to which is what led him to be so devoted to the Mom and became the Xigbar we all know.

There is a saying that those who fight monsters must be careful to not become one themselves. Xehanort became not just a monster but possibly the greatest monster to ever rise.
The story of his past of how he became a monster isn't an attempt to redeem him but a way to show how he became one and why. Xehanort saw the world in a way that we as the players of the series have yet to and as we dive into his history we can see why he felt the extreme solution needs to be used. This isn't seeking justification for his actions but seeing the underlining problem and figuring out how to fix it. The scary thing is that there are many parallels between Sora and Xehanort just as we have many parallels between Riku and Xehanort.
Are we seeing the road of a man who went to far to show a different road than Sora will choose or are we seeing a glimpse at the road Sora will follow?

Okay, I was just re watching the scene with Woody just to understand Xehanort's character more and came to this conclusion and then I see this video pop up in youtube. Amazing as always! The line that Xehanort mentions in that scene with Woody and the others "Your friends are your power? Ah... How very true" seems kind of upsetting. I know that we would usually analyze it or say it as if he is mocking Sora, but to me it felt like Xehanort believed in that too.
Then there is the scene where Sora believes that he doesn't have the power without his friends, I feel like that scene shows us how Xehanort felt or feels like on the inside.
I really like Xehanort's character in the story because his character has a depth that helps us understand and relate to his character.

So he made this mastermind plan to change everything and to start over. Y,know I just feel like the sympathetic villain plot is very over used. I don’t mind it now for Xehanort of course since he was the series FIRST main villain. Eraqus is a hypocrite. Him and Odin put the task of destroying the darkness in Baldr so why is it Xehanort’s responsibility on the deaths of everybody? If Xehanort kept it a secret to himself is because he had suspicions which were later confirmed but then it was already too late. However Vidar, Vala and Vali already knew and never said a thing and only thought Baldr will never go for his own friends. These upperclassmen are the ones to be blamed the most, not Xehanort.

He is indeed a tragic who had lost sight or perhaps, misguided. I had never hated any villains in KH lore because they somehow had this reason I can actually understand and Master Xehanort, though terrible, he actually have my respect for being this extremely knowledgeable Keyblade Master. Out of Eraqus, Andem the Wise, and Yen Sid, he is definitely the wisest and most knowledgeable Master, his knowledge is probably the closest to Luxu and MoM. Nah.. I’d rather the KH story continues without romantic plot lines. I don’t even like the sora and kairi love story since it doesn’t even have any importance to the whole KH itself so why not just stay away from a romantic plot this time.

I am really looking forward to going through the Dark Seeker Saga again after getting the full Dark Road story. I am sure that there are going to be a lot of things that change how we look at different scenes. I know that after we found out about Terranort a lot of the scenes with Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas changed, and more recently all the scenes with Xigbar/Luxu changed.
All in all though I am kind of seeing Xehanort in Dark Road and all the later Xehanorts as different characters. I am also having trouble connecting Eraqus with his older self. I am sure that once we learn more about the story it will be a lot easier to see them as the same characters and I am looking forward to being able to do so. At this point in time in Dark Road however both of their younger selfs are much easier to like then the men that they grew up to be. I am sure that they will get to the point where I can see them as one and the same person I am just not there yet.

Let's see if I'm similar to xehanort by doing a checklist. Tragic past: check. Strategic in decisions: always, so check. Care about others of my world: unfortunately even when I was a kid, so check. Hiding my sorrow with a calm demeanor: check. Willingness to try and change what's wrong with your world: check. Will easily do borderline evil deeds to achieve goals: no, at least not now. Considering last listed item as a check: yes, if I can't do what I set out to do in a peaceful way.

HMK is right. We don't have to forgive xehanort because what he did in Birth by Sleep, Dream Drop Distance, and KH 3 were all terrible Acts but that doesn't mean we cannot understand and sympathize with why he did it. He wanted to fix what he considered was a doomed World anyway and decided to change things for the better even if the world saw him as evil. I don't agree with the methods but I understand the reason.
It's similar to how Obito's story came full circle. Fans don't completely forgive him but they do understand how and why he wanted to do it.

i always saw sora and xehanort similar to each other. I just find it funny how those 2 have done similar acts such as stabbing themselves with the keyblade, both became heartless, both had multiple versions of themselves.
And now sora lost kairi and was willing to change the timeline in order to save her while xehanort attempted to reset the worlds maybe because the darkness killed his classmates? idk maybe it's nothing but those 2 are very similar sometimes.

Honestly, Xehanort is a phenomenal villain, and his story is tragic. I don't honestly think of him as a villain like I used to, rather a misguided hero. Someone who saw a way to fix the world he concluded was broken, only it went from being his goal in life, to the only thing that mattered, where not even other's lives, worlds, or even the World as a whole, were of consequence when held against his objective. And frankly it paints the Master of Masters in a chilling light. Think about it; he knew because of The Gazing Eye that Xehanort would experience the loss of all his friends, and would take on the burden of their loss as his own failure. And he approached him, at this vulnerable state, and whispered in his ear of the way he could make it all better, if he were willing to step up and do it, knowing and expecting what it would do to Xehanort. That is seriously sociopathic behavior.

I only play KH3 and a bit of Union Cross and Dark Road, but it was obvious he was more deep that the typical bad guy. Knowing what certainely happened to his friends, speech of other version of him hits different.

Also it gives the narrative another reason to cement Sora as the good guy as he didn't turn to darkness after losing his friends like Xehanort did.
As I'm typing this I just realized, Xehanorts plans for Sora throughout the franchise has always involved taking friends from people, he took Ventus and Terra away from Aqua. Riku and Kairi away from Sora. and Goofy and Donald "died" too (Goofy with the boulder and Donald with zetta-flare) and idk how to even describe the whole Namine, Roxas, Axel, and Xion situation but they all lost each other too. Xehanort is making everyone experience what he did.

Hmm. Even though Nomura didnt have much of a hadn in final fantasy 15 as much as in versus 13 there still seems to be a bit of him lingering in there.
There are a lot of connections and similarities you can make between Xehanort and Ardyn from ff15. Both are very tragic characters that get set on a path that will walk them down a road of darkness and loneliness of course their set up differs considering Ardyn was simply a pawn by the gods to awaken the True King. However Ardyn and Xehanort both had great loss Ardyn lost his lover Xehanort lost his friends (albeit still had eraqus and 2 others) both trusted in something so much only for it to disappoint them. Ardyn believed he was doing good and was granted a gift to take the starscourge out of those that were inflicted unknowingly making him no longer eligible to become king. Ardyn believed that what he was doing was a good thing that no one suffered but then he was treated like a monster and a criminal. Xehanort believed he was doing something good but even he was only a pawn in an even bigger game not that he knew but Xehanort believed he was doing something good for their world something it needed so there was no more suffering. Madara Uchiha could be looped into this too but im just stick on square enix stuff atm.
Regardless there are so many heartbreaking similarities between Xehanort and Ardyn
