I just realized that the use specific renders, shades, and coloring for the same characters depending on what world they are on, Olympus has a more cartoonish intermediate Blender animator look, Toy Box exaggerates the plastic look of things, and Caribbean has photorealistic appearances. I now understand why the game needs to take so long loading into a new world but runs so smoothly and transitions take so little time in said world. The game needs to completely swap out nearly everything graphically per world. I am pretty sure Kingdom Hearts 3 is not the first game to do this; however, it is amazing nonetheless.

Some small additions that I've noticed:
    A) When Luxu asked the Master about what was in the box, he reacted very surprised if not shocked by the answer. Now, the Digital Daybreak Town alone would not be that surprising an answer, even for Luxu who doesn't know that the memories saved there can be used by the vessels developed in the future to restore the lives of those sacrificed. But according to the plan the Master told Luxu (i.e. not his actual one since that one depends on Luxu reacting in certain ways to his fake one), one of the 13 Sentient Darkness' would be locked up in that Digital World with no apparent means of escape. Therefore, Luxu is shocked at the Master ordering him to carry around a trapped Sentient Darkness to later be opened instead of hiding or destroying it.
    B) According to the Master of Masters, he does not plan on sacrificing anyone. Now, this gets a bit tricky to interpret since we do not know who he all considers a sacrifice, e.g. do the children turned Darklings which only happened because they served a Union, an institution which he created, sacrifices or does he say they would have fallen to darkness either way once it would have taken over the world?
However, assumming he considers the Children who have died in the 1. Key Blade War to be sacrifices, then while we do have Data Versions of them meaning their memories, as well as the possibility of creating replicas for them, we saw their hearts leave for Kingdom Hearts, meaning they would already have been reincarnated as someone new, instead of the Dandilions which we know are stored in the Dream Eaters due to being in a Sleeping Word.
    C) You were right in that Brain or at least someone who looked like him was the last person we saw with the box. However, we saw him right above the Keyblade Graveyard, meaning it could have been moments before he buried it there, therefore clarifying if it had been opened previously and where it stayed in the mean time. Also, this would still match the description of "having been guarded by Key Blade Wielders through the ages", just in this case dead ones.

    Several thoughts:
    - I have a feeling that the MoM might be who told Maleficent about the box. The use of dingbat as a descriptor would fit his demeanor and being in a black coat, hood down, it could be an easy sell as just another member of NeoOrg.
    - For some reason, I can't get "I open at the close" (from Harry Potter) out of my head when thinking about the black box. Its way too convenient that it only appears at the end of the game. Possibly linking to how it 'appears' again, maybe it was tied to Xeahnort/darkness losing the prophesied battle OR light expires battle wasn't in KH3, a red herring, and the box's content will lead to the real fight. But what would that say about the masters intent? That he wants darkness to win this fight?
    - What about the seven crowns mentioned in I think the first part of the KHUX finale, I kinda feel that's whats possibly in the box.
    - Vibing with the idea of it being a literal black box, maybe it being left in the keyblade graveyard, it was meant to gather the light/darknerss/spirit? of those who passed in the Keyblade War. Assumable that their would have been more people fighting then Dandelion's who escaped so being able to capture them could be a big advantage for a fight against the darkness. Also, would explain how the Foretellers could be summoned back, if they died and are contained within the box, then Luxu could easily just bring them back from it since he knows at the very least what it contains.
    - Regardless, I think its going to be a Pandora's box situation, theirs so much emphasis on it that from a story writing perspective, it just feels like the best pay off. Especially cause it could be opened by anyone now that its back.
    - Also, low-key been thinking for a while now that Luxu and MoM aren't on the same side/fighting for the same thing. Which going with my idea earlier, it would make sense that the MoM could have told another party to look for the box and that that would be enough pressure for Luxu to spill the beans and get NeoOrg to look for it too.

I think Luxu is the "dingbat in Black". After all, Xigbar is right above them, and says "May your heart be your guiding key". Xigbar knows Maleficent is Greedy and Prideful, Darkness traits. He is leading her on a wild goose chase so she will stay away from Xehanort's Keyblade War. I believe Xigbar already know where it is and when it wil appear.
For evidence, see Xigbar conversation with Zexion in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. Or, I will tell you. Xigbar already knows Xemnas's Secret, but is trying to incite Zexion's curiousity and need to know.

It can't be Darkness that Pete's referring to, because Darkness wouldn't be a "dingbat" in a black coat. Not to mention Pete wasn't there to see her talking with it, so how would Pete know about that unless Maleficent told him the details of the conversation, which seems unlikely given her personality. She'd have just said "Someone told me" or "I have my ways of knowing these things" or "It is etched", none of which would have given him the knowledge of a "dingbat" in a black coat.
So while Darkness MIGHT ALSO have told her about it, someone in a black coat did as well. And given MoM talked to Young Xehanort 75 years ago and is seen in the ending on top of the building, we know he's at least somewhat active and able to manifest in this general era.
I'm not sure if Luxu and MoM "aren't on the same side", but Luxu is "The Traitor". Which can mean a lot of things. For example, it could mean he's on MoM's side, but at some point or another will break with or try to oppose his mission. Ava did this herself when she kind of decided to try to change destiny by making a change to something. I can't remember, but I think it was either who she gave one of the books to or a note or something she left in it? Regardless, Luxu could be doing something like that, a kind of "what if there's a better way/defy fate" type of thing.
The thing is, MoM already knows the future and seems to have planned for it, so it seems Luxu's "betrayal" would be part of his plans. Perhaps even an ESSENTIAL part of it. That he NEEDS Luxu to do something "wrong" vs his orders. Like what if he told Luxu to never open the Box because he NEEDS Luxu to open the Box at some point, and that "betrayal" is actually essential to his plan?
I guess we'll find out in 10 years or so. XD Or maybe sometime sooner in a side mobile game.

@@SubduedRadical Also Luxu's name was given to him by Mom. Luxu name contains the recusant sigil, the x. The sigil of traitors.
Luxu already betrayed by telling Ava what he thought he knew. That there was just the Idea of a Traitor to attracted Darkness. Ava attacks him, and the strike that rings the bell occurs. Then, the Foreteller Keyblade War happens.
However, Mom wanted him to follow his Heart and do that

Another hypothesis is that the box actually contains Quadradum which is a virtual world created by the Master, tailor made to be of neither light nor darkness but where hearts can be alternatively transferred to instead of the final world when perishing. The nameless star and Yozora are data copies of Kairi and Riku (that’s why they share their likenesses) that the Master created after gaining knowledge of their existence through the Book of Prophecy. Yozora was told to save Sora because he was literally programmed to do that but the actual heart residing within Yozora is of another person who we haven’t seen yet. (Possibly KH’s version of Noctis) This could also lead to the denizens of Quadradum actually being the data copies of wielders from the OG Daybreak Town but without the magic of light and darkness ended up turning the world into a more real world modern day setting more focused on technology and the creation of the Gigas. Some elemental magic may still exist based on what we see in the Beat of Lead Toy Story world trailer.

    So.
I have a weird theory regarding Brain and Luxu.
Names are important and Kingdom Hearts, I'm recently going through the games again and I've been seeing hints that Luxu was Xigbar all along. I think Xigbar "Braig" is the physical body of Brain and the mind of Luxu, almost like Xehanort and Terra were in one body.
It just seems too much of a coincidence that Brain is just one letter removed from Braig, you just have to remove the N and add a G. But you notice that Bragi and Braig are the EXACT same name just with the letters rearranged, and we see that Bragi is in fact Luxu at the end of Dark Road.
With Brain saying he'd need more than one lifetime to fix things, I think somehow Luxu gave him that opportunity and "Braig" is in fact Brain's physical form. What COULD be interesting is if Brain has his moments of taking the body and implementing his own agenda and hid the box from Luxu.

I think Maleficent may be wrong about the black box appearing after the Keyblade War, since that timeline's version of her time traveled before the war even took place. So she may be banking on a notion she is unaware has already passed. But she does at least know of the box's destined disappearance and reappearance, so she may learn more in KH4, and find someway, or be led by Darkness, to thwart the ranks of Yen Sid and the Lights, to find a way to get to someone who knows how to get to the box.

Awesome video! I have a video on Maleficent where I analyzed her timeline, I wanted to say, I think Xigbar could be the only one who told her about it. It’s one of my earliest videos. Mostly because he was sweating where it is and needed help to find it. Between KH2 and Dream Drop/Coded, Maleficent wanted to claim the Castle That Never Was- yet Organization Xiii still used it. I think Xigbar may have bargained with her about it and gave her some information so she would go away. Alternatively, I think that she may have been told in the past, and that there is evidence that she didn’t finish time travel after UX. But the evidence of that surround Lauriam and Elrena and their destinations after time travel, as well as the events that theoretically transpire around the collapse of Radiant Garden.
I can definitely see your point in all of this and I’ve touch on much of the same ideas. Right now I’ve just launched my theories on Yozora and Shinjuku, please come on over to my channel and check it out!

I've been operating under this assumption for awhile since the UX finale dropped and if we do assume it is data daybreak town in the box it would also explain why the Chirities had the ability to protect their wielders heart by storing it within themselves, after all they were created by the MoM so it must tie into his plan in someway, because of this I've been thinking that it may be that the data within the box could be used in the same way as shown for how Roxas returns in KH3, by using the data of the individuals stored within the digital space to prepare the bodies/replicas for the ancient wielders.

Thanks for your explanation and analysis. I conclude that this plot was "literally buried" during KH3 because everything else was so busy. So, again thanks. Because of you, I just read through the Union X/Dark Road plots and I'm a little clearer on the whole situation. The problem, is how this plot will be integrated in Kingdom Hearts 4 via a long exposition cutscene or a very long recap that makes the information accessible. It'll be essential if your Data Daybreak Town theory comes true, which is likely. They still have the cutscene models so they could make it a full level. But it'll be tough to explain since Back Cover X was only the first third of that story and Luxu/Box/MasterofMasters were just teases for stories to arrive later.
…Also, your "X" marks the spot was beautifully delivered. Keep up the great work.

Like if a casual player is playing KH4 and all of a sudden this box that was hyped up all throughout the last game is opened and its....DATA DAYBREAK TOWN!...... theyre gonna say WTF is that lol

    • @SubduedRadical

@@ComicCrossing Considering almost every non-console KH game has been remade for a console release, that's not too impossible. Granted, I beat Union Cross in ~4 days (they extended it for a month, so I decided to give it a shot, took about 2.5 days, but I wasn't able to play for one day and I spent some time on day 2 researching more advanced things about how Supernovas/Renovas worked when I started hitting the missions I just couldn't beat), but I get that not everyone got to or...even knew the game existed - I didn't until sometime in 2020. Kept seeing RUclips videos referencing it and was like "What is this? It seems to have important story going on for the series..."
The irony is, I think I made a character a VERY long time ago when it was a PC thing, because I remember logging in and getting a bracelet to capture light and trying to find the Dwarves in Snow White's world. But I don't think I played it more than that, and reading the game's history, I CAN'T have because I think that version was only in Japanese, and I could only read English at the time...
Anyway, point being, I figure they'll make SOMETHING at some point that includes Union Cross (though the total story of it is complex considering the events happen 2 or 3 times, since you had the "first time" then people being remade in the Data world to do the first part of the entire game's story a second time, only deviating towards the later part because the Keyblade War didn't happen in the Data version) and probably Back Cover. And probably, like the bonus mission in 2.8 (I think?) Final Mix that had you play Aqua after the events of Birth By Sleep, there'll probably be some extra extended mission/story that leads into KH4.

I am not sure what to think about this theory tho, maybe because it's too simple? hahahaha
There are several questions to understand this scenario... Would it be only Daybreak Town that's inside the box? What about Game Central Station and every other world? And the Dandelions, are they still in the datascape? Their hearts are now being carried by their Chirities in Dream Eater forms... Dream Eaters lives only in the sleeping realms, so wouldn't they now be in the sleeping realm as well? Luxu told us that a datascape that goes into slumber simply "shut down", differently from Brain's previous thoughts about a "stand by" mode... Dunno, it's such a headache hahahhaha
But the parallel with a airplane black box is amazing. I really think the box may be some kind of backup for the World, just can't feel confident to what kind of backup...
Plus: The 4 darkness remnascent from the data, the evil inside the Pandora's box... Doesn't it give us some "four riders from the apocalypse" vibes? War, Hunger, Disease and Death... Just an idea I have been thinking lately. I am pretty sure they are out of scene yet!! Hehe

  • @taqresu5865
    @taqresu5865 2 года назад +11

Analyzing this myself I have few thoughts. Luxu told Luxord he heard the box was "protected by Keyblade Wielders since way back when." That aspect may also be true (or intentional misinformation, which I wouldn't put past Luxu/Xigbar).
But if it was hypothetically true, it means that Keyblade wielders of the past could have had an active role in protecting the box, or its location in the very least.
And if the box does indeed contain 4 of the 13 Darknesses, it may mean that the Master will allow their release only when suitable People strong enough to host these Darknesses will appear, not before. He intentionally had the most powerful 7 Darknesses inhabit himself, Luxu, and the Foretellers. 1 Darkness probably dissipated a mass collective of darkness, tangible as Heartless. 1 Darkness because Vanitas, and possibly also manifested in part as Unversed. So who is strong enough to host the 4 trapped Darknesses? I think it may be Skuld, Marluxia, Strelitzia, and Xehanort.
The Master chose to appear in person before Xehanort for a reason, and in the Keyblade Graveyard no less, egging on his path towards darkness.
As for why I suggested Marluxia, Skuld, and Strelitzia, they're all meant to be Union Leaders, and the only Union Leaders meant to progress into the future. They were probably specifically chosen because their hearts were strong enough to Host the weaker Darknesses.
In other words. It may still be part of the Master's plan to completely exterminate the 13 Darknesses.
However, I think the Master could be completely in the wrong be exterminating the 13 Darknesses, because I think they're all vital in restoring the original Kingdom Hearts and the original X-blade. I still think the 13 Darknesses, and the 7 Lights that make up the Princesses of Light, might be the 20 pieces the original X-blade split into, and I think the original X-Blade was broken when the Master was still young (explaining why he told Luxu the Keyblade War has been raging on the whole time). I think the Master has been trying to take Destiny into his own hands by trying to eliminate 13 pieces of the original X-Blade.

Great video, I agree with the points of the Box containing a backup/server for DDBT but Xigbar's whole search arc seemed a little weird for me. Why would he need to enlist Luxord and Vexen to try and find it if he suddenly knew its location? whether it is in the KBG or any other place, also the fact that the scene where he recovers The Master of Masters Keyblade from the KBG after Xehanort's defeat, shows rhat he already had the box by that point could mean that the box was somewhere else and he just returned to the KBG for the Keyblade
He is even shown grabbing the keyblade that just fell from the sky, so it would mean this happened pretty much instantly after Xehanort's defeat (probably even before Sora and the gang returned from Scala inside KH) so if by that point he already had the box meant that it didn't take him long to retrieve it (assuming he went and got it after he "died" during the labyrinth battles, knowing that Xehanort would soon fall)
As for the master's goal, I think that's where Quadratum comes in place, being a world outside the nornal KH universe the laws of Light and Darkness would work different so maybe all of this was set up as a way to prepare a setting where the darknesses could be definitely destroyed without allowing them to come back (something like the marvel comics where if you take the infinity gems outside their home universe they become useless) MoM locked darknesses fragments among the apprentices hearts and his own as a way to gain time until the future where they could be defeated comes into existence and someone who can destroy them appears, AKA our boy Sora who has learned to wield light, fight darkness and now will have to learn to fight in this new universe (also the "powers" or light and darkness not existing in Quadratum serves an in universe explanation to whu Sora would be Lvl1 again in KH4, on top of the whole "you'll lose your powers after breaking the Nature Taboo" which at least during his battle with Yozora he still had them)

One personal theory I've had tangentially related to anything is that Sora is never truly made whole by recombining with Roxas. That would explain his usage of Rage Form and Anti-Form. Also the continued existence of Roxas suggests the same. Therefore his defeat in KH3 should mean that he should recombine and return to Hollow Bastion after his brief stint in the Final World. Him using the power of waking to save his friends could've split the timeline. If Kingdom Hearts lore allows for fractured timelines, there could be a rogue Sora that has lost everything in that alternate timeline.

Making Vanitas the darkness of pride and he considers himself the darkness of Sora and Ventus so it'll be great to see where that goes.
