Amazing video. Quick and to the point and have all the info needed.
Gave a thumbs up for a great and easy to the point explaining of charging which I knew how to do....I need to learn discharging process because I couldn't fly and its been about 48 hrs on 2 full charged cells. Thanks again, happy and safe flying
So glad we could help!
Thanks great info. Really appreciate your time 😊
Great video, thanks a lot.
Can I ask, when discharging my 5300mah 2s lipo will my discharge rate be 5.3? (providing the charger can discharge at that rate)
I'm wondering the same for my 8200 mAH 4s. Can I discharge at 8.2v?
Thank you, this helps me.
My car came wit the 3S batteries and a basic charger. Plug one in and wait for the 3 green lights.
I researched and discovered discharging, balance, and storage charging.
I drive the car once a week at most. Sometimes it may sit for a month (waiting on parts).
I bought a charger with these functions and the manual assumes I know what I'm doing.
I am now "storage charging" the batteries. I will balance charge before next use.
Any other tips or corrections are appreciated.
Well done...thanks.
Awesome videos
TheDeltatangowhiskey thank you!
I have a question, so if I have a 6s 6000maH 100 C lipo soft case battery, Do I discharge first or do I put into storage charge and what is the ratings I put into charger to dis charge safely or storage mode? I've never used these before and want to do correctly thank you
Hi, if I put the charger in discharge mode, what voltage will it discharge each cell down to?
prolly 0
Hello can you help me the settings should i use to charge my 4s 7300mah 70C lipo battery? Pleasee
Set to 4s and 7.3 amps
can you discharge a fully charged battery to storage? also 0.5a for a 6C took me about 45mins to discharge from 4.2v to 3.8v!
I just bought the same c240 duo charger you were using in the video. But when I charge my nimh battery’s my amps go from 0.0 to 3.0 and constantly go form 0.0 to 3.0 amps while I’m charging they are 3000 mah batteries. And for my lipos they are 7000 mah and I set it to 7 amps but it doesn’t go all the way to 7 amps only around maybe 4 or 5 amps max is that normal? The amps also fluctuate from 0.0 to 4 or 5 amps for the lipos too
Nice
Thanks!
Is there a video about tuning coming out any time soon?
TheDeltatangowhiskey currently all our tuning videos are in our online course, have you heard about it?
@@illuminatedrones no i have not. Just stumbled across your videos
TheDeltatangowhiskey gotcha! Yeah, we have an entire online course that teaches FPV! Including tuning! You can check out more at www.fpvunlocked.com
Great video. I balance charge 4 1550mah 4s lipos. 4 x 1550 is obviously 6.2 but my iMax b6 charger will only go upto 6amp is this ok?
Yes, that is fine, you just don't want to go over 1C. Charging it slower is totally safe.
@@illuminatedrones Cheers buddy 👍
Hi. I charged up all my lipo's ready to fly only to find out my motor is screwed on my fpv. So it will be a few days or couple of weeks till I fly again. They are all fully charged. So Can you get to storage charge from full charge with the battery charging device?
If your device allows that, then yes, you can.
can you discharge multiple batteries a the same time with the balance board?
Yes, you can. You want to follow the same protocols though.
@@illuminatedrones all the batteries have to be .2 or les from each other aswell ?
It’s a best practice, yes.
I’m using the c240 charger. I have a 6s 9500MAH battery and I’m trying to storage charge it. I set my Amps to 4.0A and start the storage charge process but my amps while during the process never exceed 0.3A. I don’t know what to do and can’t find any guidance on if my charger is defective or if I’m doing something wrong. Anyone have any advice?
In discharge mode it is essentially taking the power from the battery and releasing it as heat. It can only do so much at a time, so when discharging you usually won’t see it go over 0.3A. It’s a different process then charging it.
Is keeping a lower charge rate always wise? (like you charging at 2.5A instead of 3.1A) Example... if I want to balance charge four 1300mAh 4S batteries, is it unwise to set the charger to 5.2A?
As long as you didn’t go past 5.2A you will he good. A lot of chargers won’t go that high anyway when balance charging but you will be safe if you do. I like to charge my batteries a little bit below 1C or, at most, at 1C as explained in the video. Thanks for the comment!
@@illuminatedrones thank you for the help. I wish I watched it sooner, I charged up 4 batteries the day I got them, and it started downpouring. I left them charged for 4 days, just discharged last night!
Did I miss something? Where was the discharge section?
At about 7:35
Is it possible to changing and discharging my lipo battery at the same time?
I want to build a robot that always on power and charging too
You can't plug the balance leads into the wrong plug they won't allow it
That won’t stop people from trying to do it. I knew a guy who forced the XT90 plugs to go together upside down and wrecked the whole thing.
What a confusing video
