Great video Lloyd, truly inspirational. Keep up the good work. Believe it or not this is the first time I’ve ever commented on a RUclips video. I just had to say something after watching that!
I got the bug from another 12 hour race called "The Big School Run". It's in Worksop and is amazing! It's based in Worksop college (a posh boarding school) and is like a proper old-school X-Country corse. You can camp, stay in the dorms and even have a evening meal and cooked breakfast (highly recomended). It's reasonably priced and now is one of my races that I do each year.
Thanks Tony 👍 It was a great event and we had a fab weekend. That pizza did taste pretty good and a hit of caffeine always goes down well! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
What an epic video! I could feel the energy of the event and your positive attitude all the way across the pond her in the U.S.. This episode Made My Day . Many thanks 🙏🏽 👍🏼😜
That's awesome mate, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and the energy came across! 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Absolutely fantastic video and congratulations with doing 80miles, especially in the first run in the new saucony Xudos. Looks an awesome 24hr event. Something I would love to do. Keep up the amazing work 👍
Thanks Daniel, glad you made the final cut! Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Thanks Wes 👍 Really glad you enjoyed the video, I'm sure you'll enjoy the event. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Wow! Really enjoyed this Endure24 vlog! Well done mate, what an effort! 👍 Great atmosphere there as well. Hope you get on your prime form for TDS at UTMB 2022! 🙏
Thanks very much! 😊 It's was a great weekend at the event, we had a fantastic time. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Great to have met you in person Loyd and to have shared a few brief moments for a conversation. As I mentioned, love the channel and looking forward to some more great content. Great running as always and best of luck for TDS.
Really enjoyed the video . Great insight to the whole Endure experience. Those shoes are something else aren’t they - you would think they are tailor made for you to be that comfortable over that distance. Well done Loyd & well done Saucony👍
Thanks Roger, really glad you enjoyed the video 👍 It's very rare for a pair of shoes to feel like this straight on the box but when it happens it's great! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Cheers Michael 👍 I'm not sure I was looking that strong on my last couple of Laps! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Good evenning Run4adventure and all the runners. Excellent video and fantastic race. Loyd, you are a super-runner. Here is my like. A nice week for everyone. ⛰🏃♂️☀️
Thanks Mark 👍 It's a great event, I think you'd really enjoy it. I'm thinking of going back next year and racing it to see how far I can get! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, its really appreciated 🙏😊
Been waiting for this one! It was so good to meet you and the family were thrilled to see themselves. I think when you filmed, you didn’t realise the connection to me? I don’t remember getting offered any Jaffa Cakes!! It was a great event and I would highly recommend it. Those guys at Fenix were really helpful, both last year and this year. That race is pretty special for sure. I was happy with my 75miles but I know all too well the ‘lure of the van’ haha
Great to meet you and your lovely family Ian. You're right, I didn't realise it was your family to start with. Thanks for watching mate and hopefully we'll bump into each other again at an event soon 🙏😊
One day, people who watch this video will think back and remember the times of youtube's ridiculous copyright comliance a say; "good riddance they got rid of this copyright concept. How on earth did they manage to make any videos at all back then?". Thanks for another great uplaod;)
Really enjoyed the video Loyd, looks a great event with a wonderful atmosphere. Glad to see that your training for TDS is coming along well, 80 miles for a steady effort is pretty good going!
We had a great weekend at the event Tim and I'm feeling a lot more confident about the TDS now 😊 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, hope you guys are fit and well 🙏😊
Thanks Paul, it only just held up! It's amazing what the bady and mind are capable of when you start pushing your limits! 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
It's a great event Juliet 😊 I'm feeling a lot more confident about the TDS now but it's still going to be a massive challenge! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Incredible effort mate 😊 really enjoyed the video mate. I'd love to have a go at a 24hr event to see how far I could go. I still think it's amazing doing 80 miles in a brand new pair of shoes! Thanks for the video mate 👍🏻
Thanks Aaron 👍 Really glad you enjoyed the video. You should definitely give a 24hr event a go, they're really good fun! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its appreciated 🙏😊
Wow! Incredible performance, Loyd and not to forget Liga who Endured 24hrs of support duties. Awesome Team effort! Still couldn’t believe you ran 80 miles in the same shoes and also how fresh you looked at 40, 60 and 80 miles!! Congratulations Loyd and I can only imagine what a positive boost that has given you for run up to TDS👍 Q on calf guards/sleeves - what’s your take on them? I was recommended them years ago to help with calf cramps as they “stopped oscillation” but I still get calf ramps on ultras (especially the RAT 😱). I didn’t see many runners at Endure24 with them?
Thanks Paul 👍 The weekend went really well and I'm very happy with the out come. The shoes performed amazingly well and my bady played ball as well. I've used calf compression before when I'm running distance and it can help. The RAT course is notorious for cramps because you're spending a lot of time running off camber! 😲 Thanks for watching and supporting the channel mate 🙏😊
@@ianl4518 How was the plague? I thought of you all on that really hot weekend as I know from experience the hot and humid conditions that occur on the coast path amongst the bracken trails. I need to revisit the Plague as I got timed out at Port Loe the first time 😢 Hope you had a great race and good weekend!
@@DartmoorPaul Sorry for the late reply. I was on holiday with my iPad, which for some reason doesn't notify me! The Plague was a bit of a disaster. I'd had a hamstring issue on and off since E24 but I rolled the dice anyway. Sad to say I dropped at Carhays on the way out. I was 40mins under cut off but it was getting so tight it was silly to carry on. The night was very humid. I did wonder how bad those steps could be, very very bad is the answer 😅 The trails wer extremely overgrown.
Thanks Michalis 👍 It is a fantastic event and we had a great weekend, you should definitely give it a go. I might go back next year but race it and see how far I can run. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏😊
Looks incredible, I'm entered in for it this year. Quick question is when do you have to leave the campsite by after the race? Do you hang around a few hours or are you even able to stay over night Sunday??
Thanks Ozenfant 👍 We had a great weekend at the race and it's given me a lot of convinced when it comes to the TDS. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏😊
I am running Endure24 in Leeds this year, 2024, I am aiming for 85 miles. I have run a few 100k ultras, but this will hopefully be the furthest I have ever run. Do you have any hints and tips to run 85 miles at Endure24?
It sounds silly but just keep moving forward and don’t waste too much time stopping! 24hr races are the only type of races where you get closer to the finish even when you’re sitting down! 😁 Go into the race with a plan and try to stick to it the best you can, it’s a great event and I’m sure you’ll love it. Best of luck 👍
@@Run4Adventure Hi Loyd. A big thanks for your advice on Endure24. I had an amzing weekend, even though the weather weather was VERY changable. I didn't get my 85 mile target, but I did manage 65 miles which is the furthest distance I have ever run. I had to stop at 01:30 to sleep, sacked off my 85 mile target and just enjoyed the mornings 4 loop with no pressure!
There's two hills per loop, I did show them both in the video Scott. Ones at the beginning of the loop and the steeper hill is around half way round. Neither of them are that bad and it actually breaks the loop up quite nicely. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 😊🙏
It sure is but a looped event is very different. The loop was only 5 miles so if I had any issues it would've been no problem to change my shoes. If it had been an 80 miles point to point race then I wouldn't of risked it! 👍
What an epic event! New to your channel, really enjoying your content and your love for running really is an inspiration!
Amazing achievement off a longest run of 17 miles, well done.
