29:33 "...I have no idea why I'm doing this...." And so it it for all 100 milers. And yet we push through, get them done and then sign up for another without answering 'why?'. Love all of your videos Marcus. You capture the spirit of these races so well. I always want to film my runs but in the pit of despair I'm always too fucked to care. I did the 100km and was at the finish line when you crossed but missed you. Next time brother and well done again.
Awesome, I was volunteering on the DNF bus Friday & Saturday night and spotted you at the CP early hours of Sunday morning you looked good so I knew you would finish, but guy 276 I was worried about him on Saturday and Sunday when I saw him at around 2-3am each time he looked like death I have no idea how he finished, awesome.
Thank you for the video, Markus. My son Nick ran the race and finished 34th. I was quite worried about him running at night in the mountains. Because we were following him we had a good idea how tough the race was. But all of your video coverage was "icing on the cake". Brilliant stuff, and well done for completing. Most didn't!
I managed to get just over 80k before missing the cutoff for the 100k race. I have no clue how I managed to keep going. The terrain was insane, especially with some of the steep downhills and watkins path up Snowdon where there was a bunch of loose rock. Felt like an adventure. Congratulations on the 100 miler, hopefully I can get this done later.
Hey Marcus, thanks for this excellent video. I ran the 100k this year, and really enjoyed re-living various sections from watching this. I have seen a few videos from UTS now, and definitely prefer yours. Great editing, commentary, and overall vibe. Congratulations on finishing the 100 mile course. It's a beast!
Thank you Marcus! Again a beautiful movie capturing the essence of trailrunning for midpackers. The course looks indeed beautiful but brutally technical. Good luck at Lavaredo. Ive done the 50k and it was one of the most beautiful races I did. I'm sure you will love it!
Thanks Marcus for the great video, as always, and sharing some part of the journey with me! Video describes the race and feelings there very well - and captures the beauty part nicely. It was great to re-live the race.
I tell you I was waiting for this video like for a hollywood blockbuster. 😂 Seriously I enjoyed every minute. Great work Marcus! Congratulations for finishing this one. 🎉 Thank you for letting us being part of your experience.
Another brilliant film from a really hard ultrarace. I thought the footage looked beautiful. Excellent colours from this 360 camera. And a massive applause for finishing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
The barefoot guy is a very special character and is an elite runner when he decides to put his shoes on. He has won absolute 100M Julian Alps by UTMB last year
Strong finish Marcus! Looks brutal that race and beautiful. I was following your dot all the way! Hard job that as well!😂 I will be going back to Val´daran for some more heat and thunder. Or hopefully not. And then UTMB. Will follow your race in Lavaredo and can’t wait for the movie to come out. Have a good race! If not before, see you at Kullamannen!
My girlfriend and me did it in almost 40hours. Toughest race of our lifes for sure. Congrats! The section between the Cnicht and Gwastadannas was the toughest for us... perhaps because we didn't expect more bogs. That said is a super beautiful race that will push you to the limits.
Great film Marcus 😊me and my husband find your vlogs brilliant 🤩 We did the 25k, was hoping to catch sight of you and say ‘hello’ Congratulations on finishing one of the toughest races out there! To live with T1 DM is challenging but to take on ultra running is absolutely amazing and it shows that other people living with this condition do not have to be restricted!! Well done, can’t wait to see what you do next!
Amazing Marcus, what an adventure. Much respect to all you guys taking on the 100 miler, I did the 100k and that was enough for me! Great video and congrats on an epic achievement
Hey first of all fantastic film! You had some beautiful shots and amazing angles. You managed to put a very good film together. Also, well done on finishing! I'm going to do this race next year, my first 100M!
Such a tranquil film. Thank you for sharing your experience. I can't imagine additional challenges you have to overcome in addition to the usual ultra grind because of diabetes. You are an inspiration 🙏
Another really impressive video Marcus! You have to try to enjoy everything about a race and the togetherness between the runners is one of the most important elements! I want to take part in Snowdonia next year too, the 20k.
I love the barefoot runner - I bet he got disqualified for some ridiculous reason. Beautiful race! Well done through the ups and downs mentally/physically and literally!
He did get his tracker back at the next aid station and finished the race. Met him at Lavaredo again and he told me that he was carrying the mandatory shoes in the bag. The rules does not say that you have to use them 😁
An excellent video. It made me homesick….I used to ride my bike around that area as a teenager….A great effort. Very well done….and enjoy the Ring of Fire in my home county! 👍🍷
That was incredible Marcus! Bloody impressive running and a stunning video. Reckon this might be your best video yet. Looking forward to seeing you at Kullamannen. Your race schedule this year is epic. Can't wait to see your Lavaredo film. It's definitely on my list of future races!
@@MarcusKjellberg you are a legend, 30 hours driving and then 100m you seem like just walking in the park for 2 days in that terrain, my solo goal is to experience that mentality.
Great video, Ian helped keep my spirits up. Heat and blisters got to me and I only made it 70 mile before the cut off stopped me. Nice to see what I missed out on
Thank for documenting the race, absolutely brilliant 👍🏻. I had the pleasure of sharing a few moments with you but unfortunately I DNF @ 40 miles. I’ll be back next year to finish, would you consider doing the race again next year?
Crazy sh*t this is! Massive congrats. This is the first year I am not racing it. Short note: the first UTS was already 6 years ago, it is the third year under the UTMB conglomerate (and I can tell you from first hand experience that the first couple editions were extremely savage).
Well done Marcus, fantastic video as always. I was looking out for you at the start but wasn’t looking at the front 😂 I finished the 55k, was too hot for me not sure how everyone managed 100miles in that heat. Congrats again!
Amazing race and content as always Marcus - congrats! Please do a video on how to DYI-fix that amazing foldable race plan you're showing at 01:50 haha - so cool!

The Snowdonia is a different kind of a beast. 100 miles in one go took us 44 hours without any sleep or any stop. Also it is much walking up and down while RoF is runnable the whole way. Very different experiences and two great adventures.

But you fight and keep going. Saw it was a long movie before I watched but time went by fast. So then it was probably good, it was good, congratulations on a successful run and interesting film.
