      100000 percent agree. You can thank Lars and James for the awful mix on Justice. A tragic lost opportunity for what could have been the best metal album ever IMO.

    • @7BlueDodger
      @7BlueDodger 3 года назад +3

      I agree as well. It took a long time for this album to grow on me and that’s mostly because there’s no fuckin bass present. But after playing with the EQ on my stereo I got as close to a decent mix possible and realized that this is a badass album. Doesn’t have the charm of Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning but I think that’s also part of the appeal of And Justice For All. It just hits you harder and is way less forgiving than the other albums. Still not my favorite Metallica album but a really solid set of songs to play live, because the album mix stinks lol 😆

    • @bryanharrison3889
      @bryanharrison3889 3 года назад +1

      And that's the catch 22. If you want to make real metal, you have to settle for less budget and lower grade production value, and if you want the big budget, huge studio sound, you gotta sell out to get it, and well, once you do that, you're not making metal albums anymore.

      More like after 1985. The were signed to a major label on New Year’s Eve 1984. That action alone brings them into the mainstream… and they got bigger as a result. Also, their first headlining stadium tour wasn’t until 1988 for …And Justice For All. They were still an opening act for Master Of Puppets. They opened for Ozzy on that tour. They may have headlined clubs up until that point but that’s a smaller circuit and should not be confused for full blown Headlining Stadium Tours. That didn’t happen until 1988.

    Metallica in 1991: We have to write shorter songs
    Them literally 5 years later: Let's make songs that are over 10 minutes long (The Outlaw Torn among others).

    Great album, I love And Justice For All but agree with James. Sounds shite and some songs are too long like the title track is so god-damn boring. He really upped his vocal abilities on the Black album, very powerful singing on some tunes.

      @@Joel-ry6ol why are you confused? I dont appreciate something automatically just because its Metallica. I have my own ears and brain.
      I have never been more disappointed to listen to an Album than when I was an excited 16 year old listening to Load for the first time.
      I take that back. St Anger was even a bigger let down.
      Load has since grown on me slightly. I like Outlaw Torn and Bleeding Me but the album overall doesn’t get played.
      St Anger and Reload are still 100 percent trash in my opinion.
