Phoebe’s power in this was in a sense “negligible”. The power of Premonition and it didn’t even show her getting shot at which could’ve been used to be on the offense and defense.
Phoebe's powers all together were the bomb. They did her dirty taking them away. Anticipation of your moves, seeing past future and present, channeling and flight. Cmon!!!
Literally!! The writers of the show actually wrote themselves into a corner and had to take her powers away because she turned out to be the most powerful! Especially in the future when she could channel and use powerful attacks against her enemies.
@nina84374 defense... knowing how your opponent is going to attack and countering or channeling their fireballs or whatever back at them. And let's not forget she was the O.G. spellbinder.
I just realized that season 2 really tested them on whether they were innately good or bad. Yes they use their powers for personal gain throughout the seasons but in season 2 they killed using their powers. This was done after inspector Rodriguez baited them to choose to be killers or protectors of the innocent. Season 2 also showed what would have happened if they continued to walk the thin line with phoebe being burned after attack cal in morality bites
Darryl is so unrealistically unphased by this revelation and didnt even ask for any proof of such an outlandish claim. Also, I don't think it's that easy for cops to just "make bodies disappear" but even if he did it wouldn't avoid the real consequences of them potentially having a murder charge on their hands. Despite the plot holes I love this show so much and I would give anything for more of it. Phoebe's power's really were negligible where she could have gotten a premonition about it.
So tired of the disregard for the powers of sight and premonition. Phoebe was only two years into her power, it’s not like she was as developed as the seer who had hers for almost 100 years and could pull visions at anytime, borderline astral project into peoples dreams to not only send them visions, but create visions and alter them at her own will.
@@COSMICCFREQUENCY144thank u. Folks forget Phoebe only had her abilities for a year and some change by this time. She still needed to touch things. She can't grab a premonition out the air.
You forget that in the season 1 finale, Andy gave Darryl all the evidence he had on Prue, also he's been around enough weirdness and unsolved stuff to finally put 2 and 2 together. When he actually saw them use their powers he freaked a bit but he already speculated.
You're forgetting that Andy used to be his partner. I think he eventually got why Andy believes in the supernatural and why he's been protective of the ladies, specially Prue.
Also poor audience. The actor playing Daryl was apparently hugely muscular under his suit, but they never bothered to show him shirtless. Meanwhile Phoebe tripped into something magically slutty every other episode. We should have gotten hunky Daryl showing off his pecs!!
you all seem to forget that he's already had a somewhat idea of it, he knew his partner didn't die of 'natural causes' in season 1, he's seen so much that he also knew couldn't have been mortal causes, but supernatural, so it's natural he wouldn't be so surprised here, and plus he knows the sisters aren't criminals.
@sandiego2380 thank u. Folks forget Andy kinda dropped that knowledge on him in season 1 finale. He didn't tell him straight up but he gave him inquiry plus he's been around it enough, inadvertently.
The "negligible" almost seems like a self-criticism of the authors towards Phoebe's power. At this stage: Prue has perfect control of her power; Piper has perfect control over her power; Phoebe has NO control over her power AT ALL. At this point in the series, this is unacceptable. In episode 1x20, she finally evolves in the mastery of her gift: she manages to provoke premonitions on command. And they abandoned this development right after. I guess they were afraid of Phoebe becoming an omniscient character, but they could find the balance between an evolving power and not seeing everything. In theory, as a good professional killer, Hellfire should have feared this power. Instead of “negligible,” she could have written “Can anticipate my attack by seeing the future.” In practice: negligible indeed, since Phoebe has as little control over her power as a beginner. That she unrealistically underestimates this gift shows to what extent the authors failed to properly develop this power.
Actually she called on a premontion for the first time in season 2 Alcatraz episode, when she saw Piper missing her plane. The writers favored Prue and Piper over Phoebe a lot. It's very evident I'm season 3 when Prue essentially begins to have every ability Phoebe has.
In the first few episodes she could call premonitions on comnand. We saw her do it with the lottery ticket. They took it away though because it would unravel the plot in future episodes.
This is so good. How girls were attacked. Daryl's reaction. Who the girls are. Revelation is great. And he immediately believes them. Barbas was behind everything
Barbas is suppose to kill 13 unmarried witches to stay on Earth before midnight. But he had somebody else do it. I think if he succeeded, he still would've gone down, cause he has to do it himself, and no proxy. I said before that they still don't know the Dream Sorcerer was a mortal too. It's only during S3 with Pure's stalker that she take moral dangers seriously. She may've known, but that's all cause of another thing. Like meeting Max last season, while the stalker was full on direct by herself. Piper and Phoebe alright knew before hand.
Because if you remember in season 1, Andy was already into esoteric beliefs. Season 1 episode 1 literally opened with this Darrel and Andy talking about the witch that was murdered lol. Do you watch the show?
