    • @cdgaragetoys9193
      @cdgaragetoys9193  2 года назад +1

      That might be the case. Might take your small battery out and have it checked somewhere. Typically autozone or most auto stores can test batteries. I’ve also seen alternators have a very small like 1 amp draw when a vehicle is completely shut off. It took me taking the alternator off and taking it to a starter alternator rebuilder to find that problem.

      Depending on the age of your compass the auxiliary battery could be going bad. If you don’t have easy access to a code reader. You could probably take it to AutoZone, orielly auto parts or your local big chain auto parts store, they will usually hook their code reader up to it free of charge and let you know what the codes or lights mean. Hope this helps.

If makes no sense for the engine to run while being stopped for an extended period. I came here for just the opposite info that you’re sharing. @@cdgaragetoys9193 right it does not show the light. It will remember the last setting of the button pressed. Their are 2 batteries in the compass. The main battery you see and a secondary battery under that one. I’ve heard the secondary battery can go bad and cause that problem. But if the light is on after plugging the plug back in their is an issue with the start stop system. You may have to have it hooked up to a scanner to get the diagnostic code to find the issue.

  • @migilacutyrojo

    So with this unplugged . What is the Aux battery doing . if it is a bad Aux Battery will it still drain on the main battery to keep a charge. It seems to me that the Aux battery or back up battery causes most of the problems with these cars. With this unplugged will, a dying Backup battery still drain the main.

    • @cdgaragetoys9193
      @cdgaragetoys9193  3 года назад

      From my understanding the auxiliary battery is there to maintain electrical system if the main battery goes down. It also is a backup for the auto start system to start the vehicle if the main battery goes down.

    • @migilacutyrojo
      @migilacutyrojo 3 года назад +1

      @@cdgaragetoys9193 This was sent to me on jeep forum. Does anyone know if this will work ?
      The stop start system is junk. We all know that. Some of us simply disabled it with third party tools and have never had an issue since. A dash warning saying the stop start system is not ready is (by itself) not a big deal. It's like if the sunroof wouldn't open. That's too bad but you don't need it for the rest of the car to work.
      The two batteries, the PCR and the IBS and all the associated wiring has to be perfect for this car to work properly. Those are simple parts all sitting together at the batteries. Can't really test the IBS that I know of so just replace it, and the batteries, triple test the PCR and I bet it works then.
      However, once you get through the five stages of grief about how Jeep will not fix this for you and come to "acceptance" then you can fix it yourself and be happy. Get AlfaOBD, OBDLink MX+, adapter cables (and security gateway bypass if needed) learn them well because they are dangerous tools that can eff up your car real good... Then disable stop start, replace the two batteries and the PCR with one good Northstart/X2 AGM, and probably never have an issue again for years (most likely).
      I only disabled stop start and the battery-draining anti-theft alarm and I've not had an issue since, even if the car sits for 10+ days, still on the original batteries which were giving me the error message about it not ready/charging/whatever like yours. It's fixable but you either have to do it yourself or sell the car and get a Honda or a Toyota.

      @@cdgaragetoys9193 It's worth a try. my battery keeps dying and I have no idea why, I noticed the msg that the start stop was not working so I am thinking that is what's draining my main battery.And no one will touch it because its so much to remove and the dealership doesn't have an appt until Friday... :(

      Have you had your main battery tested? I’ve seen 6 month old batteries do what your saying. People think something is draining the battery and it’s actually a bad battery shorting out and draining itself.

      @@cdgaragetoys9193 not yet because no one will touch it. I made an appt with the dealership but its not till the weekend. Because there is so much involved in removing the harness they won't even try.

      I was asking if you had the main battery, the one that you see when you open the hood tested? Autozone or oriellys or about any big auto parts store can test the main battery to see if it’s good and they don’t charge for testing a battery. Might try that first.

      That’s really unusual. The stereo has no connection to the auto start stop system.

      @@cdgaragetoys9193 It was odd, because the radio worked for awhile, then an alert showed up on the instrument panel that said something to the effect of "battery saving mode" & the music went silent. The radio stayed on, but no sound. I pulled over & plugged it back in & the sound came back on???

    Hi bro
    I have a compass
    When I start it from the remote control
    It's work but after 5 seconds it's turnoff ,
    This words come ((Remote control disabled start vehicle to reset.))
    Can you give me your hand?🙏

      Check the fuel level.
      I know that if the LOW FUEL light is on, and you start it remotely, it will only run for a few seconds then shut off. An active check engine light will prevent the remote start from working. Once the code is cleared, the remote start will work as normal. Also, after a few unsuccessful remote start attempts, you need to start manually start your Jeep to reset the system.

    This should not be done, there is a button to safely disable the system -use it. This is also misinformation and can have many side effects on higher trim levels and optioned models. If you disconnect this voltage sensor the compass now thinks there is a voltage problem with your battery and goes into battery protection mode. If you google that you will see that in protection mode the jeep starts to shut down unnecessary things to save battery voltage. On mine the remote start failed to work due to low voltage reading, also the jeep shut down my heated seats, steering wheel ,lane keep assist, auto braking ,blind spot monitors rain sensing wipers, power tailgate and sunroof operations and sunroof, auto wipers and lights. After I plugged my sensor back in all was restored. There was no additional warning light besides the "A" only a message in the start/ stop screen menu about battery protection mode. So beware doing this, also in my state it won't pass it's inspection with any dash lights on. Finally this is not Chrysler's idea it was mandated by the government and is and will be on all cars going forward.

      Thank you for the comment. On my compass their were absolutely no side effects, codes, or issues with anything you listed you had issues with. I even had mine hooked up to a $20,000 dollar Snap on scanner to check everything.

      what you described is completely misinformation and a blatant lie. There has been absolutely zero issue with any of the functionalities you mentioned above, upon unplugging the aux batt sensor on my 2022 compass trail hawk.
