I absolutely love the brick stepping-stone pathways with the grass between them. That's one of the ideas I may have to incorporate into my own landscape. Thank you, Jim, for taking us along for these garden tours. It's always so refreshing and inspiring to see other peoples' gardens! ~Margie
Awesome subtropical garden; they need some fruiting bananas in their garden. Sounds like that Liriope spicata is tough enough to walk on down there? Those palms out front look more like Mediterranean Fan Palms. (Chamaerops humilis) Just amazing the size of plants down there!
Absolutely beautiful. I live about 30 miles from the gulf in south Louisiana and I have several of these plants. I’d love to get some more of what is shown here. I can imagine how great it smells with the Confederate jasmine, rosemary, and gardenia.
Such a densely packed tropical oasis! All the ferns, elephant ears and tropical vines and perfectly positioned fragrant plants. A sensory overload indeed! Some great ideas Jim, thanks for the amazing tour.
I really enjoyed this tour! The architect did a great job ensuring that it feels cool even when it’s not by creating this shady oasis! The sound of water from the fountain is a wonderful touch! Lots of familiar plants in this one. Thanks for giving us lots of inspiration and information as always, Jim! 🙌💚🌿🌳
Appreciated the tour from this beautiful garden in zone 8b. I live in a town nearby and was thrilled to get a tour with so many plants and how they have incorporated them into their landscape. Jim Putnam, your videos are so helpful and full of helpful hints and inspiration. Thank you for your channel and all the work you put into them.
You had me at the screened-in front porch! One of my favorite HGTV shows is set in Laurel, Mississippi, and almost all their renos do away with the screened porches. IT DRIVES ME NUTS, but then, I'm not the one paying for it. ;)
Thank you for the tour! I particularly like the distinctly Southern take on Piet Oudolf's naturalistic design, embracing the plants that are native and truly thrive in the region. And, the modern take on the old brick path that truly grounds the space in the deep South. Bravo!
I love seeing other gardens and really like the way you tell us the names and growing habits of the plants. Extra professional is the way you emphasize the names at the bottom of the screen with the white box and great font. Thumbs up Jim! Thank you!!
So lovely! Appreciate. All the tours you show us. Fabulous to see what other people choose and how they use plants. And something sensuous and mysterious about tropical beachside shady properties. This one is no exception. I’m quite envious as my property is dominated by all sun and I’ve chosen for ease the use of drift and flower carpet roses, crapes, loros, ferns and lantana! ✌🏼🤗
Trying to do multiple things at one time and accidentally put comment for a different channel here...oops! Deleted that one and here's what I meant for this tour. 😉. I love the idea of not having any grass but not as sure about liriope as a replacement. Beautiful assortment of plants giving a tropical jungle feel! Thanks again for sharing so many diverse gardens, wonderful opportunity for new ideas to possibly add to our own. ☺️👍💕
I'm a huge fan of "no turf" landscapes! I love agapanthus and I just managed to find one that is allegedly hardy in my zone (5) called "Blue Yonder". Looking forward to planting it and seeing if it will return and bloom. The eternal optimism of the gardener!
cool that you're able to do this as an individual. I love going around seeing people yards. once again, you're pretty close to my home in Summerdale. Fairhope has alot of pretty homes. also you are actually on Mobile Bay out there. love the video!
Lived in New Orleans are for a time; loved that I could grow tropicals then OUTSIDE! This home has the benefit of being near the ocean, though salt air can be a problem to some plants. These folks seem to be handling their garden very well. Wish that liriope grass grew in Idaho.
Loved this tour! Fairhope is a town I would love to visit. What can I use to kill liriope spicata that has come up in my driveway (no way to dig it up). I tried Roundup, and it just laughed and kept spreading!
This is a gorgeous landscape. I just love the variegated ginger. I’ll have to learn more about that one. What was the large grassy plant down by the street in front of the blueberry? and the brick work is amazing. Are the stepping stone framed with something to keep it all together?
At 13:01-13:02, there is a heart shaped vine on the white post - looks like a potato vine I once had and can no longer find. (It grows round “potatoes” bulbs along the vine.). Can you identify the vine in this video? Thanks!
I love walking through other people's gardens. Thank you for taking us along.

Tropical Oasis. With just a little trimming, the items needing light could flourish as well. Beautiful gardens. Tfs. 👏🏻👏🏻💕

Gotta love a southern garden, especially in Alabama! Beautiful!
So THAT"S what heaven looks like! I'm starting over with a blank slate when we move into our next home. This gives me so many wonderful ideas. Thanks!

Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you to the homeowner & you for the tour of their beautiful & relaxing gardens. Love the "natural" look, all the plants blend together easily.
What a lush and intimate backyard for a meal or coffee, that Mondo Grass really adds a nice touch to soften the brick walkway.
Now THIS is my dream garden! Wish my alpinia did that well. Same zone, same soil, scratching my head…
What a beautiful place. Love the brick work. 😊❤️😊
Love a lot of these plants. I don’t like things too cramped together but what a beautiful bungalow.

Hey Jim! Love the tours. I hope you do some full-sun garden tours as I'm cursed with a house without any shade.
This is so beautiful and serene, gives me so many ideas for our permaculture garden here in South West Florida.
Beautiful enjoyed see this beautiful garden
I love cleome! Every year I save seeds and have them growing everywhere. :-)
Huge help for ideas! Thanks from a local!
wow that is really packed. i wrote down quite a few names for my future dream garden, thanks for sharing.
My #1 favorite garden tour of all time!
Amazing space. Truly enjoy your videos.
So cool and lush. Got some great ideas for some of my shadier spots.

Loved the brick pavers. Beautiful coastal garden. A treat for this Kansas girl.
So many lovely plants. Love the brick work on pathways. Thank you.

Those ginger plants are really gorgeous.
Just like you!

It will evolve in time. Gardens change and can be moved in the direction you want them. It takes a long time, but it is worth it. Thanks for watching.

Loving these garden tours! Thank you!!!💚💚💚
Beautiful landscaping. Love that they utilized the palms to encourage privacy and shade. Hope you get more south
Lovely landscape. Providing plant names and identification is most helpful.
Very nice !
I love these tours! I nearly have a blank slate I'm trying to work with. Thank you!
Thank you, Jim. I have relatives living there.
Absolutely gorgeous! What a paradise! Thanks for sharing.

Nice tour and treat to see this wonderful place, love tropical plants and flowers, live in zone 5b. Thank you for sharing!

Lovely tour Jim! It always amaze me how you know the names of each plant 🌱
Love the garden tours keep em coming!
Love the brick work!
😍 So beautiful!
Great ideas!
Jim, i wish you would travel back to NC by way of Orlando to give me ideas for creating a garden in the back of my house.
Loved this tour! Fairhope is a town I would love to visit. What can I use to kill liriope spicata that has come up in my driveway (no way to dig it up). I tried Roundup, and it just laughed and kept spreading!
Those aren’t windmills in the front... Mediterranean Fan I believe.

Nice
I would love to know names just by looking at the plants another interesting video thanks for your time 👍👍👍👍👍
What is the music ? Enjoyed the tour !
I planted liriope not knowing it was the creeping kind. It was given to me. How do I get rid of it permanently in the space it's in? Beautiful tour!

Why does lichen grow on my trees? Even the younger ones. I live about 100 miles northeast of Pensacola.
👋😄
Jim, love love love the landscapes that you find! Do you use a gimble on your camera? Might help your videos be a little less shaky!
How hardy is that variegated ginger?
What is confederate?
