Herod was a great release and a very unique DNA but is ever so slightly reminiscent of Lubin Idole but that is an obscure fragrance long forgotten by the frag comm. I just watched Erica WhateverHerNameIs's video on PDM's Perseus, but I'm puzzled as to what she was wrong about? I will, however, hold my hand up to not knowing what Perseus smells like.
She's not a reviewer. She's trying to be famous and/or make money off subscribers with no real love for fragrance. She is known of dating a very old man in the show marrying millions for his money and fame, she clear states in the show she is trying to be famous. Then he dumped her and she clinged to Jeremy fragrance and dated him for a while for the very same reasons. He got ride of her now she using her current boyfriends collection of xerjoff which isn't hers and his contacts to get free bottles. Case and point her hawking curlys new fragrance.
Love your Nose. Usually agree on most fragrances with you. BUT, PDM Layton exclusif does NOT smell like ANY clone. Nor does Carlyle, both amazing fragrances as is Herod, although that’s derivative of many sweet tobacco fragrances. Keep doing what you do with honesty that’s appreciated by us fragheads.
Yes Sir, the only PDM scent I own is Herod & I bought it from a discounter. The rest of their fragrances felt kind of soulless, but thanks for the honest review
I’m so glad I found this channel. New to the fragrance game , but I’m like at least 40 fragrances in . I enjoy a good scent . Just want honesty from a perspective , think I found it and I didn’t realize what a minefield of BS is out there . Much appreciated
I understand the review. However, to chastise other reviewers for trying to turn a profit, but then close with a pitch to flip a profit off decants is confusing. Whether you are trying to make a buck off a positive, negative, or fair review; everyone is trying to make money at the end of the day. If the product was garbage, I wouldn't even bother telling people to buy a decant using my code and taking their money.
I'm not one to tell you to blind buy or where to purchase, I give my honest thoughts and give you an option to get a decant if that's what you want. There's a HUGE difference from being honest and having links to just selling items off fake bs like compliments, best of when that reviewer knows better.
When I first started collecting fragrances starting in 2019, I ended up buying a bunch of full bottles of PDM, but after a few years they seemed synthetic and boring so I ended up gifting all of them to family. I proudly do not own any PDMs at present.
I think Redo is a true fraghead but the whole FBB got em. He's different than others like Erica, Curly that don't have a passion. It's somewhere in Redo tho.
I don’t disagree with a lot of what’s said in this video, but one of the selling points for me is it just performs really well. While even at discounters I find it overpriced, the staying power is a big plus
Some people rail against Mancera because for various reasons, but I love Mancera because they're not afraid to take their perfume line in different direction, and they often do very well...and almost all of their perfumes are stellar performers, at a fair price. I also love Parfume de Marly...but yeah, I gotta admit they need to stick to their tried 'n true PdM formula (whatever that may be) because when step into different directions (like Perseus and Sedley for example) I'm left thinking they made a really expensive mediocre designer scent. Go figure! Enjoyed.
Not sure what the PDM formula is?? I haven't really felt them make something that is original which would make you fall in love with the brand. At least for me.
Sup Marc, Man I was actually hoping to like this fragrance but honestly Terre D’Hermes Parfum is superior than Perseus imo and the Eau Givree flanker is pretty reminiscent to get the job done for far less.
Never had any desire to own any of the fragrances from this house. I always found them super synthetic and harsh when I spent in stores. To each their own, but I never got it
I was flabbergasted and very turned off when i saw what price PDM goes for these days. Delusional pricing by them Glad I got what I need from them years and years ago, which isn't many, but I'm still enjoying my oldies
Personally really like some PDMs, love some subjectively...but this is very redundant their most uninspiring fragrance I've smelled...they seem to be going down on a slippery slope with the reformulations first and then releases like this..ugh..(I probably put Althair in the same boat as this..almost...at least in the past they tried ...Haltane, Greenley, Kalan all great releases in the last few years IMO..some more polarising and don't work for everyone but that's good they don't have to(I'm talking Haltane and Kalan here ..) PS their retail pricing is really not great on the value side decent with a big enough discount(never payed full for any of them).
@@robes08 That to me is another lackluster release... won't be picking up a bottle even if I somehow come across it at 50% off (usually buy my fragrances by subjective preference and that one doesn't do anything for me...); will be watching the video regardless :D
"designer fragrance with niche price!' lol I already have Terre d Hermes Fraiche so I think I'll pass on this one. For grapefruit I love my Aqua Fahrenheit. Great video like always and love those glasses!
there's a (niche) Grapefruit scent coming later this year by Jean-Christophe Hérault 'Intuition' that leaves this and practically every other grapefruit scent in the dust. would be great for Robes to review it.
Cheers Marc , I would most probably enjoy this one as it happens, and if by happenstance I was to receive a free bottle I feel it would be my summer scent 2024 ,form how you describe it ,Oh shit wait ,would that make me a potential big time fragrance reviewer ?? Lol 😂,great review man have a good one. 🙏✌️👍
Parfums de Marly has more(female) sales people on youtube than in the stores. Its a hyped clone brand that was waiting to be taken over by a conglomerate. That happened with many niche brands. I'm not a PDM hater but their strategy is very obvious.
Smells a lot like terre Hermes mix with dolce K edt something that has been done before trying to bring in a modern way but still cannot replace the original
I also have Layton, Carlisle, and Byerley. I'm puzzled that he thinks they're a designer house with niche aspirations or pretentions. Carlisle is a fantastic fragrance.
@@Teeb2023Percival does have that designer DNA. I guess because the a majority of fragrances they make similar to some designers is my guess. But Percival is the only pass I give PDM lol. Percival is definitely high quality. It’s just a great man’s cologne smell. Nothing crazy or super niche but it’s great. Even though it does have that Fierce feel. But I don’t remember Fierce smelling like how Percival smell.
@@Teeb2023he is right to some degree. I do wish PDM did have a dedicated perfumer. I think it would help them have a lane. But I think they already do with Carlise, Layton, Haltane etc. I think they’re just making more of fragrance friendly at this time.
Is it me or are the bottles different colors? I agree with you on PDM but I am a sucker for Percival though. That is exactly what you are talking about, an already existing scent (mb legend, Fierce) amplified. Luckily I got it secondhand for a good price. Retail would be way too much.
I don't see a difference in color but perhaps it's how the light hits them. I do pan PDM on many things but I think quality control over bottles and design isn't one of my issues with the brand.
the prices of fragrances in general has become ridiculous. glad i purchased a few years ago and still nearly full. for example got Tere de Hermes Parfum 75ml for $50 from fragrancex about 8 years ago. what a difference these days
I still don't have that parfum edition, it's missing from my collection. It's around 120 CAD now at discounters. Probably retail it goes around 180. Those prices...
I'm very surprised to hear this review. The grapefruit note is very low quality and synthetic smelling, along with whatever they use to emulate vetiver. This was a low quality miss.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I do enjoy the grapefruit note and feel it's well done vs all the grapefruits i've smelled. Sadly after the video was done this scent really went downhill fast and the drydown is simple vetiver.
@@robes08 it uses a new extract LMR's 'Grapefruit Heart' which alone is fantastic and responsible for the vivid grapefruit. later in the year we'll get a FAR better Grapefruit scent incorporating this material.
Hey Marc! PDM is a clone house. We all know it. I was hoping you could recommend your top Guerlain L’art & La Matière for me? Preferably what’s still available including their rereleases.
Spiriteuse Double Vanille is the standard vanilla (best in the game imo), then move to Tonka Imperiale (the best Tonka Bean in the game) , Angelique Noire and Cuir Beluga should also be sniffed.
@@robes08 I have those, brother. 🙏I also picked up Feve Gourmande, Oud Nude and Honey Tobacco. My wife wears Rose Cherie. I love Angélique Noire, but do you think that’s too feminine?
"The shady car salemen of the fragrance community!". 😂😂😂 I have to say I dont own 1 bottle of theirs. I did buy a decant of Layton, and I was done! I will say I do like Godolphin, but I have Tuscan Leather...so, why???
I don't like this one at all. Did not think too much about Terre d-Hermes and I love my Eau Intense Veriver. I still enjoy Nisean that has been discontinued by PdM .. like Haltane, but nothing from PdM on my current shopping list.
Hey love this one and bought it. I would like to buy something cheaper that smells like this to use everyday everyone is saying tdh eau givree but i dont see a grapefruit note in this one. Am i missing something?
@@Wooooosaaaaaa i like Herod but Divine Vanille is practically the same thing for less than 1/3 the price. as for Greenly i'm not sure i get the appeal, it's a synthetic smelling fresh scent with fruity nuances. there are far better, less synthetic smelling options if someone wants a 'niche' level fresh scent.

you're not a credible reviewer if you're not giving a % of lukewarm & negative reviews on new perfumes. how is anyone meant to believe a critic has any sort of acquired taste if they like/praise everything.
I'm probably in the minority but I don't purchase PDM's for origionality. With PDM I'm paying top dollar for quality ingredients, a scent that is approachable in my office space and finally performance that will last me through 8 hours of boardroom, council meetings and client luncheons. My days of shelling out $300 for a 3 hour scent are long behind me. Haven't tried it yet but I figured with all the fake hype I'll wait and see. At least it's not another Middle Eastern cheapie, that seems to be the "Hype Train" these days.
I don't think you are in the minority, many people that buy this brand just graduated from designer scents. Not sure if many are looking at originality. Approachable and performance to me isn't worth the price they ask but that's me, as for quality I don't agree with you at that one, they are a little step above designer.

Thanks for keeping it real
✊
Love your Nose. Usually agree on most fragrances with you. BUT, PDM Layton exclusif does NOT smell like ANY clone. Nor does Carlyle, both amazing fragrances as is Herod, although that’s derivative of many sweet tobacco fragrances. Keep doing what you do with honesty that’s appreciated by us fragheads.
Appreciate the support.
I own 250+ bottles and only one pdm Haltane because i like the way they clone😂 it. The Praline Note just works for me. But they are a clone brand.
😅
An Expensive clone brand at they....they have some quality but too pricey since they changed ownership.
Yes Sir, the only PDM scent I own is Herod & I bought it from a discounter. The rest of their fragrances felt kind of soulless, but thanks for the honest review
Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad I found this channel. New to the fragrance game , but I’m like at least 40 fragrances in . I enjoy a good scent . Just want honesty from a perspective , think I found it and I didn’t realize what a minefield of BS is out there . Much appreciated
Be careful out there, it's a jungle! lol
this is excellent awesome ambergris accord in the base
Your nose has grown! Congrats lol
I watched Redolessence back in the day when he was really good but nowadays..
I think Redo is a true fraghead but the whole FBB got em. He's different than others like Erica, Curly that don't have a passion. It's somewhere in Redo tho.
Appreciate the no bullshit reviews, very hard to come by these days
🙏
I tried this and I largely agree. It’s not bad but I’ll pick TdH 100% of the time.
Exactly, panda is on point!
Thank you for your service, Sir. Appreciated.
✊
Sup Marc,
Man I was actually hoping to like this fragrance but honestly Terre D’Hermes Parfum is superior than Perseus imo and the Eau Givree flanker is pretty reminiscent to get the job done for far less.
100%
Love the content thank you so much for your honesty. I 💯 agree with you on pdm
My pleasure!!
Never had any desire to own any of the fragrances from this house. I always found them super synthetic and harsh when I spent in stores. To each their own, but I never got it
same, I'm still searching as you can see but some brands as just what they are.
I was flabbergasted and very turned off when i saw what price PDM goes for these days. Delusional pricing by them
Glad I got what I need from them years and years ago, which isn't many, but I'm still enjoying my oldies
which ones did you get Mr. Bateman?
You are right about that Genscent and Red are sales, men so sad so much talent
especially Redo, but alas money speaks.
Keep up the good work, Robes! 👍
Thanks, will do!
PDM is a really despicable brand. Charging a fortune for fragrances that shouldn't cost more than Joop fragrances.
It's a designer brand at best.
The more I sniff PDM's the more it smells like a designer brand to me. A video on Althair is coming soon on the channel as well.
@@robes08 That to me is another lackluster release... won't be picking up a bottle even if I somehow come across it at 50% off (usually buy my fragrances by subjective preference and that one doesn't do anything for me...); will be watching the video regardless :D
"designer fragrance with niche price!' lol
I already have Terre d Hermes Fraiche so I think I'll pass on this one. For grapefruit I love my Aqua Fahrenheit. Great video like always and love those glasses!
Appreciate it!
Is it redundant if I already have Eau Givree?
I love my grapefruits in light blue forever and TDH Eau Givree.
there's a (niche) Grapefruit scent coming later this year by Jean-Christophe Hérault 'Intuition' that leaves this and practically every other grapefruit scent in the dust. would be great for Robes to review it.
Yes it is. I wore this only once but honestly after that grapefruit (which is good) it has no backbone at all. I'd still with Hermes.
noted!
After every three releases of PDM fragrances, followes a mush up of those three to create and release their next fragrance.
Just a circle of releases.
@@robes08 Exactly.
This fragrance smells great. It reminds me of Roja Parfums Elysium Pour Homme Parfum.
Thanks for sharing.
😅😅😅👏
Parfums de Marly has more(female) sales people on youtube than in the stores. Its a hyped clone brand that was waiting to be taken over by a conglomerate. That happened with many niche brands. I'm not a PDM hater but their strategy is very obvious.
they just recently were taken over, you called it.
PDM seem to be designer fragrances with niche pricing. Nice but definitely not worth the price.
Totally agree
Still waiting for that Kalan review. Imagine the same Grapefruit note with a lot of pepper added
I do have a sample of that somewhere in my fragrance room.
Smells a lot like terre Hermes mix with dolce K edt something that has been done before trying to bring in a modern way but still cannot replace the original
truth
To be honest. Layton, Carlise are original from the house and will stay in my collection. Percival I enjoy as well.
I think they’re just making more of fragrance friendly at this time.
thank you for sharing your faves of the brand.
Love honest review 👍
Thanks 👍
Is it me or are the bottles different colors? I agree with you on PDM but I am a sucker for Percival though. That is exactly what you are talking about, an already existing scent (mb legend, Fierce) amplified. Luckily I got it secondhand for a good price. Retail would be way too much.
I don't see a difference in color but perhaps it's how the light hits them. I do pan PDM on many things but I think quality control over bottles and design isn't one of my issues with the brand.
Eau Givre’ > Percious for sure. Even though the sales dude at the local Nordstrom doesn’t agree lol😂
Of course the sales rep would not. They need to sell product, he should start a youtube channel 😂
@@robes08 😂
It gave me massive TdH vibes. Not something unique or special at all.
100% agree
the prices of fragrances in general has become ridiculous. glad i purchased a few years ago and still nearly full. for example got Tere de Hermes Parfum 75ml for $50 from fragrancex about 8 years ago. what a difference these days
Yeah I got a 75ml Parfum from 2009 for $80. I’d wear that over this
I still don't have that parfum edition, it's missing from my collection. It's around 120 CAD now at discounters. Probably retail it goes around 180. Those prices...
Hey Mark, I was wondering if you have any plans to review Amouage Rose incense?
Just blind bought the old red library bottle.
I have a few Amouages coming but that isn't one at the moment. It's on the radar tho
@@wutru3142how are you liking it? Is the juice still the same in the newer bottles? Or was it reformulated?
You the man Marc. I too find it awesome that you're putting these con influencers on blast
it's just truth, hopefully it opens eyes for some.
Eau d’ Erica is TERRIBLE!! 😂
Worst reviewer ever!
put some respect on the word reviewer. That.. is not a reviewer.
Marc’s recommendations are on point. I would add Neroli Outrenoir is nice for summer and Oeillet Pourpre is classy AF for dressed up occasions.
I have to say I dont own 1 bottle of theirs. I did buy a decant of Layton, and I was done! I will say I do like Godolphin, but I have Tuscan Leather...so, why???
No idea why, and for those prices?
Yeah told a couple friends often that PDM is an expensive clone house.
100%
I don't like this one at all. Did not think too much about Terre d-Hermes and I love my Eau Intense Veriver.
I still enjoy Nisean that has been discontinued by PdM .. like Haltane, but nothing from PdM on my current shopping list.
I'll still continue to sniff the brand and perhaps one day I'll find something decent.
Mark, have you reviewed anything from the Houbigant house? If not, that would be awesome.
Which ones are your favorite
I have not... yet
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like this fragrance and I give it a 9 out of 10 in my opinion and have a blessed day
9!!! Holy smokes
I almost spit my coffee out@@robes08
Yes sir
Hey love this one and bought it. I would like to buy something cheaper that smells like this to use everyday everyone is saying tdh eau givree but i dont see a grapefruit note in this one. Am i missing something?
Sample the Terre D'Hermes line, start with Givree. My recommendation is Tres Fraiche but it's discontinued sadly.
@@robes08thank you
Not Original.. my thought exactly
👌
Great review.
Thanks!
Savage, Robes, just savage.
better than Sauvage. 😅
Tfs I haven’t truly liked a PDM yet they are ok just imho not great tho
sums it up pretty good to me.
The last two releases from PDM been a big skip for me.
The last 20 releases from PDM been a big skip for me. 😎😂
@@robes08what did you think about Carlise? I actual love Layton, and Percival too. Those are the only three I have and wear.
And once again thank you for saving me a bit of coin.
👏
To my nose it smells a lot like John Varvatos artisan XX
interesting. Now I kinda want to smell XX
Hey Marc, you forgot to say that this fragrance is sooooo SEXY!
It is actually a pantry dropper!😂
😵
PdM's mailing list: lowest brow, highest common denominator🤷♂️
🗑👏
Theres about a million other fragrances that just do it better with better pricing lol
👌
warms my soul when someone dislikes PdM as much as myself.
🤝🏻
Smelled all of them and only Altier (the other orange one) and Greenly stuck to me
@@Wooooosaaaaaa i like Herod but Divine Vanille is practically the same thing for less than 1/3 the price. as for Greenly i'm not sure i get the appeal, it's a synthetic smelling fresh scent with fruity nuances. there are far better, less synthetic smelling options if someone wants a 'niche' level fresh scent.
👌
LoL "clone house." PDM innovated the game with Layton.
Layton is a Clone of ysl la nuit de l’homme🤣
innovated? PDM? No, the only thing they innovated is using youtubers.
@@wailali5646not really
Just not a fan of Parfums de Marly. I really enjoy Sedley, but the rest are just okay.
Thanks Fuzz!
Thank you
Welcome!
Indeed nothing special. Too expensive for what it is!
100%
Brands, especially RUclipsrs' brands (lmao) scared of your nose Marc. Dont expect them to risk their wallet sending products to you, cus they know for sure you will smash them hard just like us buyers, and cus those sht wont worth the ridiculous pricetag that they priced. Those products are just reviewed by their so called YT gang. Speaking about YTbers' trash, Lately a lady with curly hair just released a bottle that cost more than 200 bucks made me and my chumps laugh so hard XD. It's 2024 and people still think about shortcut to wealthiness with some kinda smelly juices. Like COME ON, WAKE UP! IT"S 2024! XD
RUclipsrs only send bottles to friends to review (to promote). That's it, I don't see any bottles coming my way anytime soon. The curly hair one is just using men and the insecurities some have to make money off them. It's a sad display.
Who is OD deras?
Don't know what you are referring to?
@@robes08 that was the Google caption from your video ... a YTer without a nose ... Remember who you meant?
@ToriZealot oh eau d'erica. She's new to the game , tried to be famous and rich on a TV show called marrying millions. Tried to be with an old man millionaire, didn't pan out. Went to Jeremy Fragrance for fame and money, didn't pan out. Now, trying the influencer route on her own, she's trying to go the Curly route and manipulate little boys that don't know any better or men that have insecurities.
@@robes08 yeah recognize her face ... indeed was not impressed by her "assessments" ...
First in the Building
Appreciate that!
Yeah well… it’s no SBoy;-)
that... it is not.
Marc, life is too short to review products you don't like and list other reviewers you don't agree with!
I'm a reviewer, so a true reviewer that will review terrible product to okay product to excellent ones. It's being a reviewer, you will have a spectrum of content on my channel.
you're not a credible reviewer if you're not giving a % of lukewarm & negative reviews on new perfumes. how is anyone meant to believe a critic has any sort of acquired taste if they like/praise everything.
Erica might not have nose, but she has two other big qualities.
😵
Literally never had my nose on any PDM, I must live a sheltered life ...
keep it that way lol
@@robes08 I can understand the different scale of quality my friend. Someone with your expertise and experience in this game probably has a high bar to meet. Thats why we tune in, your good at what you do and package the message in a way that we relate to. Well done sir.
I hate this brand
😅 this made me laugh. Thank you
Awful brand 🫡
yep. quack!
We appreciate you for not trying to sell, but keeping honest reviewers all these years. However the fact is, Arabian clone houses really do swallow expensive niche brands and you are losing quite a good amount of viewers due to the fact that you do not review cheaper clone fragrances. Let me express this way, if you view perfumery as an art and think that clones are bad, all the modern mainstream art derived from the older artworks.
Almost none of Robes long time followers/subscribers are clammering for him to start covering dupe/clone houses.
@@caseyplunkett6083exactly. Marc has a real job. He isn’t a washed up gym employee or a used car dealer turned influencer pushing shit products like most of these people.
clone boys always trying to drag everybody else into the gutter with them to wear their sewer juice. Just go enjoy your clones and be happy. If you wanna see reviews of low budget stuff, go find a channel that does low budget reviews or start your own.
Hell no! I hate cheap clone houses!
In general the quality is just not there even if they smell nice. If anything I feel clones cater to a different demographic. I’m happy Marc doesn’t cover them here
You are appreciated sir 🫡
I appreciate that
