As a 71 year old, this is the only RUclips reference I can find to Daphne Oxenford.I was hoping I could find an old recording of "Listen with Mother", a radio programme on the BBC for young families transmitted in the early 1950s from when I can remember, "When the music stops Daphne Oxenford will be here to read you a story".She obviously had a sense of humour as well, judging by this clip with the late Les Dawson!
i came across her today because i watched the sweeney, she was a beautiful woman and a really good actor. it would be good if there was a video tribute to her on here
Hopefully as I reply you're now a hale and hearty 77 year old. She appeared in Les's radio show Listen To Les, sometimes doing hilarious duets with him. As you say, she clearly had a great sense of humour!
