I have tried to do this, I have my. ABRSM Grade VIII distinction and to do what Les did to play the correct notes but In 2 different keys is very difficult to do.No One has done this since Les passed an absolute treasure, a legend and one of The funniest clever comedians to have ever graced the famous west end stages
Les Dawson was a legend who will never be forgotten. The way he told jokes and his all round banter was total perfection. Everyone knows that he was a good pianist but his off key piano playing was so funny. Even Blankety Blank was worth watching and very funny when Les hosted it. These so called comedians today haven't got a clue about being funny. Les is irreplaceable .
Do you know whenever i watch him i always look down my nose at him and his comedy..but within 30 seconds im wetting myself laughing because he,s just so funny
You. Have to know what you.’re doing to pretend to play wrong. The genius was he played the left hand chords correctly but then veered off key by a semitone or tone in the right hand. Very difficult to do
Yes (AlanMfluff), the dialogue over the top of LD clips was hoighly annoying! BRILLIANT performances though of LD. Very interesting to hear that he also played JAZZ!?
I have watched this over the years more time than I can count. Les Dawson was a genius. Grew up in the 70s and 80s. Still love him ❤
He even made my mother laugh and my mother was a misery by profession.
I’d buy you a virtual pint for that brilliant comment 😂
I like to hear and see Les. What I don't like to hear and see is people talking about how great he was.
Thats why he was always on T.V.and had his own shows he wasnt good he was fabulous and i watch him on you tube and still laugh
There's just nobody funny like this anymore. I'm glad I was born in the 70s and grew up with this on TV.

That "feelings..." bit at the end of the vid, I reckon, superclipses anything that even the grandmaestro Victor Borge did - genius as he was. imo
He was just so naturally funny that as soon as he arrived on screen or stage you just started laughing, and then the magic began.
My comedy hero growing up legend much missed
Feelings what a beautiful love song. Well it was.
Do you know whenever i watch him i always look down my nose at him and his comedy..but within 30 seconds im wetting myself laughing because he,s just so funny
You sound like a snob.
@@mojopin70 Do you not see the irony there
To play that "bad" you've got to be good, really really good !!
Absolute legend.
Was a master of is Craft!!... Sorely missed😂😂👌.
A true comic genius.
Proper comedy legend. :D
He was so good, he could play badly - it always makes me howl with laughter.
Too many people talking about les, shame we can’t watch him play without the interruptions.

That was hilarious!

Re:TJ Yes its Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor by Edvard Grieg, also immortalised by Morecambe And Wise in their classic 'Andre Preview' sketch.

Fabulous
Peter drury sent me here.....
Same lol
Same
Ricky Gervais speaking about Les Dawson's piano playing on Sam Harris's podcast sent me here.
You’ve got to be able to play so well to play so badly on purpose.
Who's the charming bloke talking about Les's rendition of Feelings?
Robert Webb (Peep Show, Mitchell & Webb).
@@leec6707 Thanks Lee
One of the most talented pianists. It's actually a little tricky and requires skill to play in this way.
What is the song that Les is supposed to be playing at 2:46, before the piano falls apart of course!
TJ Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 16 - Edvard Grieg.
Scott Robson I'll take your word for that!
jimboj Why don't you just search for it?
Yeah, that would take almost as long as to type this reply! I was just pleased someone knew and the OP wasn't asking me!! Thanks dude.
Yep, that was it! I even had the CD with a wonderful recording of it on my desk- I should've known!
Thanks for the response!
8 just didn't get any "FEELINGS!!!"
typical modern documentary with nonentities stating the bleedin obvious all over the clips. Thanks for posting anyway -better than nothing.

So difficult to do.

why bother at all with showing the ten seconds of Les, better just to have the talking (not)
Hear Hear.
This is one of the few cases where the talking heads actually added value.
Feelings woah woah woah ....
Is just about rhe way I have heard most people sing but they think they sound ok..

The work of a great comedian disrespectfully presented distorted!!!
