    One button start : )
    This is the best setup by far. Brings the viewer right into the experience. I love being able to look up at my recording light for verification. The Icon Variant is a very good helmet for this mounting technique as there's a ton of room under the visor. Nice work! PS: you can also very carefully fill the tiny space around the lens with clear silicone so water doesn't creep in : )

    Dan, brilliant! So simple, but so cool.

    i use the ext mic so wind noise is removed, the idea is to unplug the external mic when stationary or slogging the bike off me, i might just annotate on the next video which mic is being used so that those that are interested get to see the differance

    That's a cool set-up Dan. You could get a screen protector for a cell phone and just cut it to fit over the lens.

    cool, got it now - good idea to complete the cam with the torches!

    Wicked setup. Amazing what a person can do with some foam, velcro, and some time!!

  • @danmoto73
    @danmoto73  12 лет назад

    yes it does, ext mic when plugged in immediately takes over the audio, if you need any help just shout

    cheers man, i am working on one for my road lid, involves the chin bar looking slightly bigger but i think it will work as it's fairly inconspicuous when viewed face on

    Very cool Dan, that's exactly where mine is mounted. I keep the waterproof case on mine though because I was too worried about water getting in the camera. I don't know why that have to make the case so you cant use the external mic jack with it, also don't know why they made it so dang bulky... You got a cool set-up, hope it works well for you on the d2d!

    Thats one helluva an idea Dan!! Think I will give it a try this summer! Think I will keep mine in the case though! LOL!!!

    thanks man, one of the helmet manufacturers needs to team up with gopro and produce an integrated gopro helmet system rather like schuberth did with bluetooth systems

  • @danmoto73

    that's it, one button start (i always forget things when talking)
    yes i need to spend some time waterproofing it, feels slightly heavy to the front with the lights on as well but i'll put up with it, just need to grow some neck muscles
    i heard that you use magnets, i was worried about doing that in case it interfered with any of the camera internals, i used them on my vio but as it was only the lens magnets didn't worry me, i'd like to on this as velcro can be a real pain once you get muddy :)

    i've seen a few people drill the case for the mic and add some silicon sealant to protect it, i'll probably sorry at some point when the lens gets destroyed from a roost, just got to remember to tilt my head when it happens

  • @danmoto73

    it depends on your visor size and position, it works on AB's icon varient but i can't get it to work with my shoei hornet unfortunately, thanks :-)

    i'm going to need them anyway for the 24hr enduro, it's a bonus that they will help with recording the event :-)

    I use very strong magnets and all is still well. I'll post sumn' to facebook perhaps : )

  • @danmoto73
    @danmoto73  12 лет назад

    yeah it's not waterproof, but it's at eye height and protected by the visor so i figure unless i go headfirst into a puddle then i'll be ok, for rain i can just snatch it off and chuck it in my backpack, thanks :-)
