- Today i received written permission from Think / Department for Transport to upload the recently televised Think Bike Think Biker awareness advert to my RUclips Channel (so long as the video is not monetized).
The television campaign ran from 2nd March until 24th March, so unfortunately you won't see the advert on TV again for sometime, advertising will continue in participating petrol stations until 31st March.
The government have spent £1.2m on this campaign to get just one months worth of advertising, hence i guess the allowance to upload the content to youtube.
Visit think.direct.gov.uk/motorcycle... for more information relating to this campaign

THINK make some fantastic adverts. The one with the guy pulling out into a road without looking right, into the path of a bike was really good. Really made me jump when I first saw it. Stuff like that hits home for drivers.
Brilliant advert, love the Think! Biker campaign and as a matter of fact would love to work for them. Knowing that you are working for a brilliant cause would be epic. Nice one!
Just flicking through old comments looking for something and found this. The CBT thing only works once every 2 years. So as long as you're speeding isnt often, you would enjoy it
There's a huge 'think bike, think biker' road sign gone up about half a mile before a dangerously congested junction on my daily commute, i've noticed that since this advert went on television in March that some car drivers have definitely paid more attention to my presence on the road at the congested area. Of course this could be my imagination (i'm a hopeless romantic) but it certainly feels like the advert was taken in by many. Some will switch channels rather than watch something nasty...
Outstanding! What a clever way to reach people who don't know any motorcycle riders!
Great call to other drivers. Thanks for posting.
I think these kind of ads play on your emotions more though and because there's no graphic image it can be played all through the day rather than late night. Putting names to the bikers for start, showing the happy couple on a bike, "new dad" written on the back of the fancy sign 1:15 - 1:19. Also the song, the fact that you could end up killing someone, who, had you had a better meeting may have been your best friend.
Spread the word!
such a good advert, the only advert i ever watch :D
I like this advert =) puts a big old grin on my face. biking's a brilliant thing
Love this add, at least they are trying to bring awareness to bikers.
One hand they are trying to help, the other they **** us about trying to stop us modifying bikes.
agree completely, i've said to people before that cbt's could also be helpful in place of car speeding fines, only problem is drivers would enjoy them lol
I don't know, people seem to shy away from the very serious adverts that have a large emphasis on a biker's injuries. As Dan put it, "some will switch channels rather than watch something nasty". I think this advert is very clever, and could help raise biker awareness without being graphic. Unfortunately, I have to admit that sometimes you have to show some people the graphic reality in order to help them be aware.
Good one! Thanks for sharing.
Good point.
Imagine how something massive like that affects stability. Crazy. Good ad though.
I still think the best way to make people think of motorcyclists is to make new drivers complete a CBT before they can take their car practical test. Put someone in the position of a motorcyclist, you soon sit up and take note of their vunerability and you do something about it. I've improved since I did mine, how about you?
In Germany trucks and buses must be decorated like a new year tree so you'd have the idea how long it is at night. I don't see why bikers couldn't do that too.
Since replacing my headlight bulbs with Ultra Bright 100% Brighter Xenon bulbs I have had two cars a day (on average) pull out on me. Today I had to slam the brakes on to avoid an old man in a BMW. I hit the brakes so hard I locked both wheels !!
I'm a cyclist and face the same issues. Problem is because I am slower and don;t have an engine I often find some drivers will just bully me out of the way. To be honest I don;t think it's a fact of "drivers don;t see motorcyclists/cyclists" but half that and half ignorance.
Great vid! I'm sending this out to everyone I know!
LOL!!! I'd wager NT8 actually attracts more attention than those signs.
I bet even if we rode around like illuminated Christmas trees, some car drivers still wouldn't see us !
0:20 Paul is being tail-gated like a fucker!
Made a good point
They had the same campaign last year.
Great ad. :-)
Don't forget to look out for Dan!
lol awesome :D think i might get a neon sign now :D
Good idea, if only they still showed the cycling ones...
I need to find me a Helen! =D
hahaha, that's awsome, wish we had add's like that here ;/ hehe
I fukn love it
I agree with you mate, but at least its better than nothing.
note how the voice over says dan coincidence??
unfortunately if someone doesn't look no matter how lit up you are the same outcome will happen :o(
i dunno, @navythomas8 and @lauriejennifer almost ride around like that ;-)
This is great, but it's ripe for parody. Would love to see this commercial in a wind storm and the riders sailing away.
looks like navythomas8 bike!, LMAO :D
do people who drive cars subcrible to you?
shame cage drivers dont bloody watch this
