The Flashing yellow to dropped signal (red aspect) was mighty fine @ 9:59 in OKC. Unusual meet (with Amtrak) and a rare sighting of a dropped signal by the freight in Texarkana@ 14:43...whew almost missed that one. Thanks for the great pics!

I caught a hobo riding the autorack train in Manchester ga 3 weeks ago.
Yikes, the location of the openings makes me horrified to ride auto racks, for fear of the train suddenly knocking while getting in or out. They musta been desperate for a ride lol

I was a Conductor for N. J. T. Never seen stuff like this in Jersey. Lol. Most working yard job out of M. M. C. In Kearney N. J. A diesel and electric together to go down to long branch and or bay head to pick up car's diesels electric to bring back to Kearney to be fixed and or one's 90 day inspections. Or 3 and 3 with car's bring to long branch or bay head that are fixed.

Why is it you never freight cars going through Strasburg station but you see bringing them at the main line at leeman road ?
Freight cars go to the transload facility, which is well before the station.

I have a probably dumb question: When they have those rail grinder trains, and there are multiple tracks (like say Elkhart or Flagstaff), why don't they do them side-by-side-by-side to get the job done faster?....or am I overthinking?
The rail grinding train is slower than a slow local doing pickups and set-outs. Tieing up one line at a time is workable. Tieing up both main lines at the same time would cripple the railroad. Where you have a double track, trains in both directions can be moved around the slower traffic. I live a stones toss from a major single-track line and there are days where the traffic pattern is completely weird due to the grinder doing its thing on the subdivision. In the case of single-track with passing sidings, I do not know which traffic would get priority and which would take a siding and wait.
Dispatching has to be one interesting, ever-changing job of live 2-D chess. Remember, you're not allowed to remove pieces from the board, and you don't get to sleep on a problem overnight.
I didn't think today's children were interested in trains any more.
