As a teenage girl, i feel like i am not the target audience, but my fixation on watches has brought me this far lol
Anyone who loves watches are welcome to this content. Have fun.
NO WAY!!!!
I have 4 daughters. I hope at least one of them eventually takes up watchmaking or at least collecting.
YOU ARE THE TARGET AUDIENCE watch enthusiast.
Welcome to the passion.
You’ve joined at a great time in history. Though P/W are not in vogue right now. You have the complete history which the original owners didn’t know how there watches would be placed in history. I myself love railroad watches. Buy them now why’ll they are inexpensive. And save them. Remember all horological fans know. The real beauty was on the INSIDE.
So welcome.
That’s awesome!
Bravo, Bob…Bravo. That took a lot of time and effort to research and produce and for that, we thank you. This was highly interesting, informative, and entertaining…well, to some of us, anyway. Also, I think that anyone who payed rapt attention to the end, can now safely describe themselves as a “watch nerd.” If the shoe fits….LOL. Thanks, Bob…great job.
It was a lot of fun making this video ... and a lot of work. I hope to do another next year. Thanks for watching.

I love watches because they are such well engineered tiny machines and am amazed that mechanical watches can maintain their accuracy while being shifted around as we wear them on our wrist.
Thank you, Sir👍👍👍. Highly Informative & Entertaining! 😎🙂👏
I tried to be educational while sprinkling in a bit of humor. Glad you liked it. Tell your friends about my channel so I can continue to make content.
thanks for the great effort to make such info easily accessible . a question that always crosses my mind is what was the reference time people use to regulate their watches in each town and how was that time maintained accurate in the 18th and 19th centuries? thanks
Good question. Glad you enjoyed the video. Tell your friends about my channel so I can continue to make content.

BC and AD are the calendar we use. What is BCE and CE? There is no clock or calendar made with those times.
Excellent video other than that and very informative.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. BTW, BCE and CE stand for Before the Common Era and Common Era. They are non-religious terms.
I think glass can also be dipped in liquid boron to give it extreme strength.
I know there are other hardening coatings used, but didn't know about boron. Thanks
Waltham were ahead of rolex making the first waterproof watch with a sealed case .
Also zodiac was before the sub and fifty fathoms .
Thanks for the info
23:10 scary jump alert
Why scary?
Citizen Eco-drive (Solar Quarts + Lithium Titanate Battery) or Apple WATCH SERIES 1-9 how the system on a chip clock works from quartz or similar timing mechanism in IOT or internet of things smartwatches & fitness trackers, Samsung Gear units, Fitbits, Garmin Smartwatches or many other digital watches. Amazing how all computers have a clock to synchronize electrical signals
Some timing mechanism is always needed
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you found it helpful.
Clepsydras also used in Ancient Greece! The name is Greek actually 😂
Interesting. Thanks for adding to my knowledge
Put your camera lower on your table... lol.
Why?
Moving your hand in water doesn’t increase appreciably the pressure on the watch! The difference is a fraction of a percentage. Unless you can move your hand at tremendous speeds which we as humans are nowhere close to! Is a myth being perpetuated for so many years... if you read some watch forums, there have been people who made the calculations to disprove this myth.
Probably true. However engineers want to cover all possible impacts
Seems more like History of mechanical advancements... It's just missing a lot of time measuring instruments.
Perhaps
Or get a highter chair...
Why?
Bro that music...just dont
Why? You don't like any music on videos or just the music I picked?
@@adventureswithtime its just the music u picked for this video... that bag pipe or whatever is atrocious
