Put this one together quickly on the morning I was lending you the T5. I knew I was going to miss it! This is that patch I asked you not to write over haha. And thanks!
All resolved in the last few chords, all questions answered, what goes up, must come down, faaaaade ouuut. Beautiful. Big fan of the three machines rule.👍👍
That's really great. I love what's going on with the Moog. I just got a Take 5 and first thing I did, just from exploring the presets, was start painting these big Blade Runner-esque cinematic soundscapes.
Beautiful! The Take 5 sounds lovely - packs a punch but retains all its warmth. And that SubH pattern through the drifty FX keeps it all interesting and engaging. Bravo, mate!
I think of the journey into the unknown as I listen to this, and we successively become newly aware of where we are actually going and where we have truly been.
Precisely what you need a synth to do. Leaning towards the Take 5 more than the Teo 5 now. I should relisten with some nice cans nest time. Thank you for your performance, it's just so spot on.
MMMhh not sure I can agree on this. TEO 5 can do 99% of what the Take 5 can do. The contrary isn't true IMHO. The SEM filter is another beast. Both incredible synths tho, you can't go wrong
That Take 5 is sounding incredible. Its Oscillators remind me a bit of Rev2, a bit edgy and sharp but quite pretty when used with skill and of course nice sounding effects.
This was warm and soothing Jay. Loving the low-end on the Take-5. I have all three on my wish list, but still trying to decide between Take 5 or TEO-5. The "three-box" rule seems smart; versatility without getting in the way of creativity.
Awesome work there matey. Sequentials stuff just sounds utterly top shelf! the Subharmonicon is one of the simplest synths I have yet it ends up being in a lot of stuff cos it can really emote. I ADORE running it through a Lyra8-FX. Don't know why but the lyra FX really brings out the best in the subharmonicons tone and the drive circuit can give it some real anger.
Great piece. I really like your three box rule. It's one I need to remind myself of now and then. I love my Subharmonicon. I have it paired up with the M32, 2 DFAMs and a Labyrinth, and the Sub is by far the last one I'd ever want to part with.
Hey, Love your work! I'm about to buy a new pedal, I was wondering which one you'd recommend if you don't mind me asking. A microcosm or a chroma console... Thanks in advance.
They are so different in their roles! The Microcosm is a great "let's just twist some knobs and see what comes out" pedal. Really fun granular effects, though it can be challenging to make it do anything specific. The Chroma Console is a real hot-sauce pedal, just apply liberally to any sound and it can make it a little better. It's not a super creative effect but it colours sounds really nicely. Of the two, I'd say the Chroma Console is more broadly applicable, but both are great. And thanks!
@@JayHosking Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I might go for the microcosm because of how cheap I can get it through my friend. I think the Slöer pedal will be next... one day the console too I guess.. Have a nice day!
NightVerb definitely wasn't for me. I don't think playable reverb fits with my stuff, though I could imagine it being super cool in some contexts. Recorded a couple things with it, though I'm not sure if they'll make it to the channel. And thanks!
@@JayHosking I'm kinda glad to hear you say it to be honest, as I moved mine on pretty quickly too for the exact same reason. It seems like it has a purpose, but a very specific purpose. Unlike the Zen Delay which fits pretty much anywhere!
The SubH has only the one envelope, so when either sequencer 1 or 2 triggers, it triggers all the notes at once, resulting in the repeated notes from lane 1. And thanks!
The SubH has 4 clock subdivider knobs that you can assign to lane 1 and 2. J has 2 subdivisions on 1 and only 1 subdivision on 2 (you can see by the red activated lights below the lane). So one gets subdivided. They all trigger the same env and you can choose which osc they affect... so it really turns it into a polyrythym machine. I am prob not explaining it properly
This song isn't on an album yet, but will be one day. The Solar 42F song is on an album, and it's currently released on Bandcamp (jayhosking.bandcamp.com/album/scenes-ambient-and-cinematic-works). Albums eventually reach streaming platforms 6 months to a year after going to Bandcamp.
If anyone is wondering, his patreon discord is really great. Lots of positivity, and good musicians.
Beautiful playing dude!!

@@JayHosking LOL pressure is on now 🤣 jk I won't overwrite it, amazing patch
Damn, just listened to it again, and it just gets more beautiful!
Into the depths of sound I travel, on a ship in the dark hours of the morning, carried by the ebb and flow of life. Magic!✨✨✨
so beautiful Jay

WOW. Goosebumps. Love the rhythm/notes out of the SubH, huuuuge sounds from the take 5!
Absolutely amazing.
Very well done Love the chordal progression in this as it subtly changes and starts to warp
these chords man. Glorious!
Beautiful!
I love the Pro 3 SE too. To me it’s Dave Smith’s best ever synth and the only mono synth you’ll ever need. It’s just sounds spectacular.
This sound is exactly what Iike most.. even though your voice is missing! Oh my goodness.. and the Take 5 is a blaster by the way! Thanks for sharing

Man this is SOOO good Jay. I absolutely love my Take 5. Your patch here sounds insane. The onboard verb is actually quite amazing. Bravo!!!!!
beautiful jay
Ahhh yeah Jay!!! Gorgeous, deep feeling…got that crispy sizzle…a pleasure for the mind and body. I love a good reverse ostinato❤
beautiful, as always.
wow, I wasn´t too convinced with the Take 5 demos I´ve already seen, but now I´m interested
same, they all fell flat for me - but hearing it in this context is great
I got literal goosebumps listening to this. What an amazing song!
I think of the journey into the unknown as I listen to this, and we successively become newly aware of where we are actually going and where we have truly been.
I wish you were involved in Blade Runner 2099.
Me too!
beautifull, chilling
My tAke 5 has never sounded this amazing... Well done Sir!! ✊👍

One of your better ones. You really get good stuff out of the Subharmonicon.
Really well done 👍
This is beautiful. I love the slow crescendo
Great work as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Majestic Awesome Hoskingianna ! 😧
Sounds absolute beautiful 😍🔥🙌🏻

The magic is in the simplicity.
Love your stuff man!
Lovely!
De toute beauté, bravo ! 🙂
Wondefull !
So good!
Thank you, this feeds my soul, it's like a delicious warm pie 🥧😋

how you getting on the the labyrinth? That and spectravox look fairly interesting and are on my "maybe one day" list of unecessary synth indulgences.
Bravo Bravo
I sold my Take 5 when I moved apartments cause I didn't wanna have to haul it. I'm totally missing it now.
Nice 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@Xenthara Yes, the Zen Delay is one of a kind. Truly my favourite performable effect.
Awesome tune and chords! May I ask what is making the staggering clock in lane 1 on the Subharmonicon? Cheers

do you have this song and the recent one with solar42 in Apple Music?

What can you say about Take 5?
It's really good.
approaching the black hole…thrusters 10 percent…kkrrrrttt….intercom open…loading sequence…brzzz…t minus 10….9….krtbbbzzzz…
I don't like the design influence Sequential has on Oberheim. TEO-5 should have looked closer to its bigger bros.
I had a bad day today, but now it is alright.🫶
Nice chords!
