The player base complained, rightfully, that the F-16 wasn't winning dogfights that it should have been. Predictably they blamed the wrong thing saying that Gaijin was using an overly strict G limiter when that wasn't the issue. Since then Gaijin has been slowly rolling out a nerf of the elevator pull of aircraft in game to make them closer to realistic. Before the F-16 was added to the game aircraft were allowed to pull what Gaijin wanted to let them pull with no accuracy regarded and no consistency between aircraft. Some aircraft had little to no elevator buff (Hornet) while the A6M was, and still is, the worst offender in having the largest elevator buff relative to history.

One hit will not shred an aircraft unless it hits something that will cause extra damage from something like an explosion. A lot of players seem to want get a hit get a kill or instant serious crit when that isn't what it is like in real life. No, the game isn't real life and I don't want it to be real life damage either (over 300 rounds with lmg caliber weaponry just to bring down a small fighter and 2000+ to bring down a medium bomber like a 111? No thank you.) but that isn't the key issue here. The key issue is a lack of a standard from Gaijin. They keep arbitrarily buffing guns to the point that they border on one tap territory and then nerf them to about half way between realistic and one tap territory and then go back to buffing again with no consistency and no real reason.
typical lmg round is 7.62, you are are comparing an Ak-47 round to something that is almost the size of the grenade launcher round slung under that ak… with substantially more velocity than the 7.62, and almost as much explosive as the grenade. I agree getting one shot all the time would be annoying, but it should at least do something. 30mm on props blows the wings off of massive bombers with 1 hit, but a much better one can’t even injure something less than half the size in 1 shot?
@@norske_ow3440 I wasn't comparing a LMG to a 30mm. Don't know where you got that idea from. "30mm on props blows the wings off of massive bombers with 1 hit, but a much better one can’t even injure something less than half the size in 1 shot?" 1. Large bombers losing a wing from one hit is complete Gaijin fiction. Historically it took ~8 hits for a German 30mm to take down a heavy bomber. 2. Just because you get a hit doesn't mean you didn't injure a plane. 3. 'Much better' is a baseless assumption on your part. Just because a 30mm is on a jet doesn't mean that it is instantly much better than a 30mm on a prop. 4. Comparing different guns in completely different settings when you don't know any of the specifics of what is going on (in terms of in game gun performance and vehicle durability) is completely nonsensical. I get where you are coming from but your assumptions are completely reliant on some form of gun damage consistency on Gaijin's part, which it doesn't have, and consistency in aircraft damage models, which Gaijin doesn't do. Gaijin does both completely arbitrarily. What Gaijin thinks they should do is what they do. This is why the A-26Bs and Cs, despite being technically the exact same aircraft, have drastically different damage profiles and react completely differently when hit by the same gun/ammo. The Cs are much tougher than the Bs because "bomber" vs "attacker".
@@rainsilent that 30mm number is way off. It was 3-4 as per the luftwaffe. 20mm took 20-30. Of course, the Draken uses different ammo - arguably worse as last I checked it had way less explosive mass. And I do agree that gaijin has zero damage consistency - the MG151 has gone from mid, to the best 20mm (for props at least), to mid-bad. The japanese Type 99-2s have gone through the exact opposite, from regular onetappers to quite bad, and now to very reliable one-burst killers; this all being before RealShatter, immediately after, and currently. This makes zero sense.
@@reinbeers5322 I was going by US and UK reports that calculated based on hits of survivors and post war German camera footage for kills wherever possible for the slow 30mm. US and UK reports for the 20mm 151/20 say 16-20 hits on average. Our numbers are at least close. The issue is that Gaijin doesn't establish a baseline to go off of. They just go by feel I presume and just make everything up. Case in point realshatter and the associated frag damage was not the way WW2 era HE ammo did most of their damage. It was through raw blast power. When realshatter was introduced they buffed frag damage and nerfed blast damage. This is why the 151/20 has been suffering the most as it did the most blast damage and least frag.
hello mr defyn. I have been grinding sweden on and off for about 2 years now and I have finally gotten the Gripen (I have the J35A to thank for that, an incredible plane that is overlooked due to its ass missiles and lack of tracers) and I have some trouble even sustaining a fight. I am stock so I have only 2 RB74s but the main problem I have is where to go on the map to actually survive. I find myself getting ultra-targeted by radar/AIM9-Ms/R73s and when I try to dpgfight I always find myself getting knocked out due to Gforces. Do you have any tips? Also what control scheme do you use? I still use mouse aim and that makes me feel like im at an disadvantage but im probably just dogass
not defyn, but have a full swedish aviation tree and love playing them. with the gripen, it doesn't have BVR or ranged engagement so the best thing to do is to hit the deck and go off to the side, using the terrain for cover. like, dodging trees and rocks type low. this is how the swedes really plan to engage an enemy force. go into any fur ball low and aggressively passing through and taking shots of opportunity. drop a lot of countermeasures and fly defensively while doing it, do not get caught up chasing a single enemy. the cruel joke with the gripen is while it could be the best turn fighter, resist doing it in most cases. between passing out on every high speed turn (it's not you, that's how good the thing is) or bleeding out too much speed and becoming an easy target, it usually results in death either way. use that speed, defensive maneuvering abilities, and all those counter measures to pull away and lead them to your teammates when someone gets behind you or until you're far enough away to safely turn - and remember stay low to the deck, always.
I'm genuinely so shit with this thing its unreal. I can't work with it at all; which is my fault as she's fine with other people. Bought it to help grind the Swedish air tree to compliment my completed ground tree and I just get slammed hard every time I'm in it. If anyone's got any recommendations I'd love to hear 'em. Mayve rockets and just base bomb?
Speed and patience. Try to stay at least .8mach and don’t take a dogfight if there are people around. You have 6 missiles with pretty decent range to get kills with, so early game stay on the outskirts and try to put yourself in a position to use that. Then you can start isolating people to dogfight after it has thinned out.
No, don’t base bomb if you want to do that play a bomber. Go fight in this thing it’s easy I average 2-3 kill games per match and I’m not even using my guns

@@MrQuackios personally for me it's the versatility in both GRB and ARB. Good missiles, great speed and acceleration, great air to ground load out and super manoeuvrable. Whilst the load out is functionally the same, the F-16 gets the AGMs and the Paveway IIs with a laser designator. I quite like the F-15 as a bomb truck and make a good bit of cash from that but I like the '16s speed and flight characteristics over the others. typical lmg round is 7.62, you are are comparing an Ak-47 round to something that is almost the size of the grenade launcher round slung under that ak… with substantially more velocity than the 7.62, and almost as much explosive as the grenade.
"30mm on props blows the wings off of massive bombers with 1 hit, but a much better one can’t even injure something less than half the size in 1 shot?"
Swordfish video when? 😂
@DEFYN wouldn't that be the Ranch dorito the Cool Ranch 😁
Defyn could daddy get a video on the spitfire mark 24 so I can know if your opinion on it is the correct one
what else can they nerf on the Gripen without making it horrible and super unrealistic?
Play the B-239

I am so glad you didnt just spend the entire game base bombing in it. Like why is that a thing
Especially when it can’t even carry bombs 😂
Naaaaahhhh the Javelin is the cooler dorito
How do you rate the guns now we have tracer rounds
Why don't you use the IRST? Slaving the missiles feels pretty helpful when I play, is it just a placebo?
The situations he showed didn’t really have any need for it. I would imagine he did use it in some situations that we didn’t see
Talisman JA37C>>>>>
Better choice probably
Well if you have that already you shouldn't be buying this
Good day
Is it worth spending $70 for it? or should I look at another nations top tier premium? I already have the J35A
No
Wait for the sales instead if you don’t like crushing your own balls
Is the f15 or the f16 a better plane to get as your first tier 8 in US tree?
F-16, hands down.
@@combatwombat2134 thanks! Could you also just explain why? I’m still not sure what the big differences between the 2 jets are in game
To boot, I don't get QUITE as conscious of SPAAs in it whereas when I'm in SPAA I'm always on the lookout for some high flying F-16 with ordnance.
Also say the F16. plays into the meta better being smaller, more agile and harder to target.
This thing is the worst thing I’ve ever tried to use.
i definitely feel this..
Why are you not using the IRST ?

i have the saab and sometimes its ASS and sometimes i love it
grippen is ONE of the best planes in the game? what beats it?
a shell going into the cockpit
F-16AJ or ADF is my guess. Maybe F-15.
Things beat it in certain aspects definitely, as for whole game effectiveness SU27 could be argued to be better
@@DenkmaldrubernachtSu-27 slaps right now 'cause of player inexperience basically. R-27ERs are excellent and so are R-27ETs but what's even better are all the players flying like 500 meters off the ground thinking they're safe.
@@derkaiser9881 not gonna disagree with any of that
Best 10.7 jet I'd say
Worst 10.7 jet i'd say.
