MG217 coal tar shampoo and ointment are great! (Sorry, EU, I think it's still banned there.) I also use Dermarest salicylic shampoo for maintenance, along with MG salicylic moisturizer or Gold Bond psoriasis moisturizer. Cerave also makes a salicyclic moisturizer in a tub, if you can find it. I tried the Neutrogena sal shampoos but they just didnt work for me.
I have ocular rosacea YES it does itch I have mature dry sensitive skin and use prescription lotion The La Roche Posay products are most helpful THANK YOU❤
Here in Germany, coal tar is prohibited, unless prescribed by a doctor. It is considered mutagenic (causing changes in genetic material). The contained polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and especially their metabolites also have carcinogenic effects. With long-term use, the development of cancer cannot be ruled out. Preparations containing coal tar are contraindicated during pregnancy and in children under one year of age. Greetings from a pharmacist.
Great information. Coal tar smells horrid and my hair is so thick it’s hard to get the product on my scalp. Whenever I’m hospitalized or on vacation, my scalp psoriasis clears up entirely. Seems to me when I’m eating crap food (junk food) or am stressed, psoriasis gets much worse.
@@fluffytail6355Like all autoimmune diseases, it gets worse when under stress. A friend which her psoriasis went on after she was 50, she tried many medications and therapies ended up sorting out her diet and the symptoms went away. One of the things she stoped eating was diary products (milk, cheese etc)
What can be used on the eyelids? I have been having problems for a few years now. I Have used Vaseline but that doesn't help. Dermatologist told me to use hydrocortisone, that it was fine to use near the eyes. Hydrocortisone helps but the dryness comes back when I stop using it and like you mentioned, it's not supposed to be used all the time. Also, being on the eyelid, it's a very delicate area and near the eyes. My eyelid gets very itchy and I have keratoconus, rubbing the eyes is no good for that.Thank you in advance.
Yes, I get it from time to time in the lash line on one eye. I put in some Thera tears drops so that I don’t end up scratching my eyeball. They seem to give me a little relief. They have an extra moisturizing formula too. I prefer their individual little tubes.
Questions: What would everyday skincare routine for both body and face for psoriasis prone skin with koebner phenomenon (Even if you are in remission and you dont have plagues) would be like? What ingredients should we use for the body skin and what for the skin on the face? (For example: niacinamide? BHA? Urea? Peptides? Is Retinol/Retinal/Tretion okay? Snail Mucus? Shea Butter? Coconut oil? Caster oil? Glycolic acid? Panthenol? Centella asiatica?) At what % we should use them? What ingredients we should avoid to not trigger Koebner phenomenon? Should you NOT wear sunscreen when you have a flare up? Can you resume putting sunscreen once in remission? If UV rays are beneficial for psoriasis, do only UVA sunscreen exists? Or is UV only beneficial in phototherapy under doctor's supervision? What about tanning bed? What about red light bed/mask..are there any perks for psoriasis? If hot showers are not recommended, does the same goes for saunas and therminal mineral water pools? *I ask for specific ingredients as I'm in Europe and not all brands exist same as US. Thank you in advance, Dr. Idriss! Thank you for keeping us informed! ❤
I never had this, and pos up every so often in my early 60' I break out a bit .. doesn't last long. It's an auto immune bc of something else . You know I was surprised I added a Josie Maran whipped body butter, science have no earthly idea . But it cooled it for some weird reason and was gone in two days ....
Can you make a video on how to take care of your skin when you live in dry and cold areas? I live in Norway my whole life, and the last years my skin is dry, cane-prone and shitty whole year apart from summer 😢 BTW, "summer" here can be 15 Celsius degrees and rain. You're lucky if you get 2 weeks with 20 Celsius degrees. Thank you ❤️
I have psoriasis and dermatosis. What bother me the most is the redness on the face ( from the dermatosis). Any suggestion how to soothe it down? I am trying the tower 28 spray for now but not much effective
Thanks for talking about psoriasis! I found Derma-E colloidal sulfur with salicylic acid and it’s helped so much. I’ll check out these products. Is zinc helpful for psoriasis?
My scalp started itching a couple months ago in one spot. I can't tell if it's eczema or psoriasis. I'm using a SA shampoo and it's not helping. I'm assuming it's eczema? What should I do?
Can you tell me Why does my nose always has a dried out sorta crinkle texture that almost looks like its been sunburnt and feels, at times, like it too but has no redness. It always sometimes (especially in dry seasons) starts to peel? Im just getting into skin care at 21 and would love to know why this is happening and what products i can use to solve this. I dont have oily nor overly dry skin i dont think except for on my nose. It looks like the top layer os damaged, like how skin looks when its healing and going to eventually flake off. Please someone send help😅😢😊
I have psoriasis on my face and during this past winter my cheeks and sides of my nose got how you’re describing. Psoriasis is some kind of over production of skin. My derm said it was autoimmune can’t be cured and I’m pretty sure this doctor here said it’s related to FUNGI! My derm put me on a scalp steroid foam, a steroid creme for my face, and a 3rd type of steroid creme for my neck down. Using that much steroid all over me thinned my skin and made the spots worse cause I would scratch in my sleep and then I was dealing with open wounds / scabs on top of the flaking. I found moderate sun exposure 15 mins every other day made a huge improvement in the flair ups. That was about 4 years ago and since then it will show up on my eye brows sometimes my arms or legs. It sucks so bad when it’s on my face I worry about scarring. Anyways. Best to you! I’m still trying to learn more as well. I hope she answers you or someone with more expertise.
What helped my psoriasis the most ended up being a low fat keto diet and weight lifting - life changing
I would also love to know about shampoo for psoriasis. I only have it on my scalp!
You can get shampoo that includes either tar or salicylic acid
she has long video about it already, on channel.
You know you can actually use a mild face cleanser with BHA for scalp. 😂
Omg I came here to ask this. It's so bad for me. The day I was my hair, it's back by the evening. Idk, what I'm doing wrong.
Could you maybe do a video regarding chronic scalp folliculitis?

Try Laroche Posay Triple Moisturizing Cream.
Try castor oil, does not hurt the eyes, it's a real healer
My beautician grandmother always said to know pretty women's age you need to see her bones and joints, not her skin.
