Cal-Tracs, as others have stated is the quickest and most budget friendly fix for drag race wheel hop. There is another issue with the 8.8 rearend that you have, and that is the lack of a limited slip differential. There is nothing wrong with the stock Ford Trac-Lok posi style differential if it is in working order. Now, back to the video.
I can’t agree with you more!! I even said to get Cal-tracks in the last video lol
Leaf spring clamps work the best for a cheap way fix
@@ilovecuchi9457but will not be the most effective way to eliminate wheel hop and offers zero adjustability. An aftermarket traction bar such as Funkhouser Racecars, Nikky Bobby Inc, or the original, Calvert Racing Caltrac is hands down the best way to go.
Go to the Speed Shop and get some slapper bars or cal-trac’s…leaf springs are going to be your biggest issue…or copy what they do with 4x4’s, install a tube w/adjustable heim joints from the front of the leaf spring to the shock/axle/leaf spring mount on both sides. Guaranteed no wheel hop. 👍
Caltraks, leaf spring sliders, qa1 shocks
I wanna see yous do a Christmas day burnout .bless the block for your lovely Neighbors😂😂😂😂😂
just build traction bars or cal track with your welder and add your coilovers to make it stiffer
YO WHATS EATING UP THE INSIDE OF YOU TIRE SIDE WALL AND RIM ........ 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 STAY SAFE
Shocks are blown
Learning something new everytime. Tq brotha😅😅
Good Morning DB!! Sorry to comment on here about my order, I just wanted to see if it has shipped? I haven’t received any update.
Thank you for your time!! Much love from San Leandro Bay Area!! 💪❤️
That's definitely axle wrap bro.. all then blazers and s10s do it
You need some adjustable suspension
All the power is going to one wheel. Atleast when you get the other rear end in power will be to both wheels. Might help. You could go to coil springs. Weld on tabs to bolt them. Cal-trac hrlps alot
16:15 So after seeing this I have a couple thoughts but then again so does everyone else. 1. I was wondering about you pinion angle and yes, you are correct. For a drag racing style application you want negative pinion angle or, downward. It's mainly because once your horsepower and torque come in upon a launch, the rear end will try and rotate the pinion upwards. We've run a 3°-4° downward pinion angle in applications. You pinion angle should also be set at full race weight IMO. You in the truck, full of gas, etc. 2. Your driveshaft needs to be properly balanced. I recall you shortening it and don't believe you had it balanced. You might be getting a ton of higher speed vibration from it and that can also adversely effect you ability to provide proper traction without wheel hope. Glad to hear you mention Double Adjustable shocks and traction bars in your future plans. Once you get those set up properly, you'll see gains in body separation and traction as the tire is being planted into the ground. Also as I mentioned in last video, you also are probably bottoming your current shocks out and if you are there is no traction aid/device that will ute that. You need the proper range of travel for sure. Keep plugging away man. 🤘😎
Most definitely axle wrap(and the pinion angle changing drastically)from not having a full leaf pack, make some quick ladder bars for practice with welding/fab and do all the nice studd you have planned for the 8.8 and its may help get it sorted for then
On the launch-test video the rear wheel creeped forward in the wheeltub real bad, this causes wheelhop. Might be worn bushings.
Also.. What happened to the inside of your rear right tire? Maybe it's rubbing?
Get cal tracks bars and a pinion snubber
Excellent diagnostic work. Each time your getting a little closer to the cure all. You keep at it. Eventually the correct combination will be found. Decades ago the only way I eliminated this problem was with a 4 link set up. I just couldn't get the leaf springs to stop hopping. I hope you can
Try and balance the drivesshaft
You don't think your un balance drive shaft is making the shaking?
I think we all chimed in bro. But who cares do what you think is right. Dbfam strong
That shim is going to throw your pinion angle off so get ready to start chasing a vibration above 60
Sheet I use to get wheel hop in my 89 2500 Silverado 😂 anyway #dbfam strong boi 🤙
12:40 and keep in mind yall, when he puts in the new rear end he will be putting the mounts where he wants them so he won't need shims either
My lowering blocks came with the angle so I didn’t have to do this to mine
He don't listen caltracs, old school ladder bars, 4 link
Hell yeah. #DBFAM.
Caltracs are not the answer for everyone. In my case, I'm building my s10 to handle well so I'm opting for a torque arm to control axle wrap
If I remember right, you cut your driveshaft and welded it to make it work. Did you ever get it balanced?
Yessir #DBFamStrong #BuiltNotBought #WhoopWhoop
Should just save your time and get one of those sport rear ends woth the ford trac lock. Otherwise just gonna be one wheeler peeler still less u weld it solid then gonna be chewing tires up left n right daily driving it. Crazy what they charge for a rear end there. I can get them here n tx for like $125 with a 1yr warranty or like $105 without warranty. But we got no Honda's here almost ever n when we do they all automatics
@7:15 your tires rubbing on something my boy
Keep up the good work
YEE!!!
Is your lowering block cracked?
What is happening to the inside of youre rear Tire?
Weld the diff
Dbfam do work get it done
Just put a camera under the truck 😅to see what is happening
Shimmy
We need to go back to your ADD way with the rear end with paint & clean work!!! Do it once that you don’t have to go backwards!!! You are still funny as fuck,”great deed with saving the dog”!!!!
Just swap the 8.8 straight to the blazer. You don’t have to cut or welded anything
Might be me but it looks like the inside of your tire next to the rim is getting chewed up 😳
wouldn't some Cal-trac's worked as hell?
Go to ur original video of this issue , I told u how to fix it with 20$ ,
He doesn’t listen smh
Wtf happened to that right rear tire and rim on the inside? It's messed up bad
Let's go DB FAM 💪💪💪
Yo check p.o box sent u stuff
Shims don’t effect wheel hop
The pinion angle is not your vibration problem bro. It takes a fuck ton of pinion angle to cause vibration.
U need a good driveshaft bro thats the problem that driveshaft is the root of everything
Just put a camera under the truck 😅to see what is happening
