    AOS was purchased on Amazon. Just do a quick search. I also recommend purchasing the 'L' shaped rubber tube that goes on the bottom of the AOS. You're down there anyways and its one less thing to worry about later.

    Are you saying that if there IS vacuum on the oil cap the AOS has failed or if the AOS is functioning correctly there should be vacuum on the oil cap?

    • @norcal9874
      @norcal9874  11 месяцев назад

      Great question. In my research at that time, if there is a strong vacuum on the oil cap when engine is at idle, it could be a sign the AOS is failing. If you don’t have a manometer on hand, it’s something you can check. Combined with clouds of smoke, oil light, and/or a ticking type sound. Checking the vacuum at idle on the oil cap is just one possible indicator.

    Norcal: thanks for the excellent video. Question about the T section plenum. How do you remove it? I loosened all 4 hose clamps, but it still won't budge. Please help.

      Ray Just got your comment. For some reason we did not get a notification. I apologize. We have not taken off the plenum. So, I don’t have an answer for you. You might DM @dwraysgarage , @bakers_garage77 , or @flat6.jay on Instagram. Hope this helps!

    it"s easier to remove the bottom hose the other side,then remove the AOS, because the two bottom of the AOS return pipe is the same angle, and the ring you cracked just use to open the two locks, don't need to fix it ,it still can lock up.

    • @norcal9874
      @norcal9874  2 года назад +2

      For sure! It still does lock up fine. I’ve had no issues. Great informative information! Thank you for your comment and added info! Every little of bit of tricks and tips from everyone makes life easier for the next person!

      just did one yesterday, before I start I know they only have the new AOS, no hoses at all, so I need to very careful to remove all three hoses, and hopefully all the hoses still soft and this my first time. 😅

    How was your engine running prior to this?
    I just checked the air intake (same as you did @3:50 in the video) and I also have oil...does this mean my Air Oil Separator is bad and needs replacing?

    • @norcal9874
      @norcal9874  4 года назад +3

      It was actually running pretty good. I’ve heard mixed reviews about oil lining the intake. Some say it’s normal, some say it’s signs the AOS is gong out. Here’s my two cents; if you have a ton of smoke coming out your tail pipe on start up (it’s normal to have some on high mileage engines) AND it stays that way as you’re driving down the road for a few miles, I would replace it. It’s pretty cheap and easy. Got mine on Amazon for $110. Hope this helps! Thank you for the comment🤟🏻🔥

    after replacement did you look into your park plugs for oil recalculation ?

    • @norcal9874
      @norcal9874  5 лет назад

      Midnight Legends No, I didn’t check the spark plugs at that time. But, about a thousand miles later I did replace them and they were pretty shot. Quite a bit of deposits, but no strong sign of oil deposits.

      @@norcal9874 Hello, thanks for this video. So the bad AOS isnt too bad on the spark plugs? My car eats oil and has oil in the aos hoses. Sparkplugs were changed last year, so im asking if i sould change them right after the aso or if it has time.Thanks

    • @norcal9874

      512 TXS A lot of smoke at startup and at normal idle. Leaving the neighborhood would leave a trail of this smoke in the air.
