The good thing right now, most schools are waiving the GRE! Also, ask schools if they accept applicants on a provisional basis (required to have a 3.0 the first semester into the program). Some schools have certification programs that will allow you to take the 5 main core classes of the MHA/MPH program and as long as you keep a 3.0 GPA then you can transfer those classes into the graduated program......I know this b/c my GPA was even lower than a 2.9!

These tips are valuable. I graduated with a 3.1 GPA from a mediocre college and ended up at Georgetown University for graduate school.
Don't get complacent. GRE or not, it's going to take a heavy dose of motivation, eagerness, patience, and persistence to pull this off. But for those who had a low GPA, it's still possible to get accepted into a top-notch program. I'm not bullshitting. It's real.

What did you do to improve your chances of acceptance into a good school if you didn't have a high GPA? I'm in my senior year at a pretty bad university (New Mexico education system). There's not much I can do to improve my GPA and I just got a bad grade this semester that tanked my GPA even more. I had hopes of grad school and now I've been crying all morning thinking my chances are ruined, but seeing this comment and video feels motivating.

@@anastasiamarie8222 Work experience. Be patient. Good things take time. I would send an email to all the programs you’re interested in, and build up from there. Ask questions. Know the curriculum. Get an idea on their admissions decision factors. Most of these programs are open to everyone that visit. They need to make a good impression on everyone.

WOW, I should have seen this video before I applied to grad school. I have applied to like 2 colleges and they have just blown me off as soon as they look at my low GPA.the first time I applied and I was so excited and then months later was told through an email that they could not offer me admissions at that time due to my low GPA. I was so discouraged that it took me a year to try and apply in another grad school. But as I sit here and watch your video, I can’t believe that I had not seen this a year ago. Anyway, I want to apply again for the spring2023 in more than one school and I feel nervous, stressed and anxious. Thanks for the info and I will check out the links of questions they can ask me.

I graduated 2 years ago with a major that I wasn't really interested in (and rather have low understanding in classes) and performed bad, hence lower than 3.0 GPA. I want to go into grad school for something different but have been very discouraged by the minimum requirements for majority of schools. I think i'm gonna give it a go and use your approach on addressing the reason behind my low GPA and hope that with some work experience and motivation, I could convince the admission office that I am not the same person back when 19/20 years old but now ready to work hard to succeed in the program.

Then I earned a Master's degree with a 3.5 GPA, a 750 GMAT, 10 years of work experience, 2 years of fundraising for UNICEF and other NGO I also published research in a scientific journal.
