I appreciate the brutal honesty you represent. I've been playing for most of my life and I can't believe how much companies are charging for clubs these days. Is there any chance you could get more of your high handicapper friends to try out what you're reviewing. A guy with your skill set could probably swing a fallen tree branch and still hit it further than most of us.
I like these kind of reviews. I’m newish to golf, never been fitted or taken a lesson. Getting into this game, and talking with others, the biggest challenge was affordability. Knowing clubs like this exist new is a good way to get newbies into the game
If you are just beginning quit now take up surfing or something. All golf brings is heartache. But it always gives you that one great shot a round that keeps you coming back for more punishment. Be careful lol. Golf is truly a wonderful sport enjoy it. It will become addiction
@@Lovetheducks My issue started at the driving range. Never really hit anything other than the crap clubs at the range before but used my mates driver one time and absolutely smashed it and that was it. Still never hit a drive that good in the 8 years since 🤦🤦🤦
@@Mike-yt7py so you love the sumo as well? I mean it was loud but even the sound I enjoyed as well. That could have been it annoyed those I was playing with lol.
I love that you do these reviews. I am a massive fan of finding diamonds in the rough. I always like having stuff in my bag that nobody has heard of. I don't think numbers stack up for this one overall. But keeps these kind of vids coming please! My favorite so far has been that Temu hybrid! I would buy that if I didn't absolutely smash the hybrids I have!
i have the iron set from a few years ago when i first started learning to golf and i feel like they are good for people just learning the game but 3 years in i think im ready for an upgrade
I'd recommend you and Chris test the Cavell golf balls James. Bought a dozen of the X's (4 piece urethane) for £24 and found the performance and especially durability amazing
I have been waiting to see you review this. I have been wondering about this one and the Lazrus. I kept going back and forth on the wedges. I went with Lazrus and I do like them. If you are able to review Lazrus hybrids, woods, driver that would be amazing.
I think for most golfers, a 260 yard drive would make most weekend golfers very happy! For me, I stopped carrying a driver, except for a few courses that I played that were close to 7200 yards. I found a 13° Yonex Super ADX 3 Wood that I loved...and I could consistently hit it between 260-270 yards, and I could hit it very straight. I did carry my 9° TI driver for Par 5's...and that was about the only time I used it to get the ball close enough to where I could go for the green in 2.
sounds like it would be better to buy a good used main stream driver with adjustable loft and then you can change shaft if need be easily IMO of course
Bought this last summer when I started getting back into golf. Not a bad driver by any means but definitely looking to upgrade this summer now that I’m back playing more. However, the 3 wood is a different story and I'm interested to see your take on the 3 wood. The 3 wood is gold for me. I crushed one onto the green from 220 out.
I played the Nike sumo driver for a couple of seasons and I would get crap for it sounding like explosion when hit but I loved that dang driver. I hit that thing so well. I don’t understand the hate that driver receives. There’s nothing better for the ego then high toeing one and watching it release.
How close are we getting to the cobra 3-D printed clubs? I have feeling you will love them. When you do a giveaway for them make sure my account is picked. Then I’ll tell you where to send them lol.
Enjoyed the review as always. However looking at Amazon there was no chance of buying the set as they don’t seem to do clubs for left handed. As is me.
this is what I like to see first and foremost on golf channels videos and adverts we see all kind of gadgets which are reported to enhance and improve your game?, BOLLOCKS they simply don't work if your an high handicapper and you honestly believe that by buying a £500 - £600 drivers its suddenly going to help you hit longer straighter drives then you should take up Knitting the only real way to improve your game and hit straighter is practice and before you even think of spending a fortune on a driver make sure that one your handicap is coming down and you feel comfortable with your game this Video is one I really like because James looks at budget products which for the beginner or high handicap golfers shows an alternative to the more expensive products, more of this please James
😆😆 Well James. I understand the point of this video, and your budget direction. So my experience with Bombtech. Great customer service. Wedges are decent and very comparable to the Kirkland wedges. Irons are good beginners clubs. The woods are too inconsistent. if you're a beginner looking to learn and get better at the game. These woods will frustrate you. You'll learn quickly that you wasted your money. That should be better spent on an older quality like a new M4, Sim 2 Max, Epic, or even Kirkland, or a good used second hand driver. Plus Lessons. I was against taking lessons. Because I was just out with the boys. But when I struggled so much I considered quitting. (Bombtech stuff in hand) I took some lessons. Best thing I did. I can't stress enough at how much budget can sometimes mean cheap and not worth your time or cash. If I had it to do all over again. New golfer. I'd probably go second hand or Tacoma, Stix, Robin, Adams, or Sub 70. And spend some time and money on a few lessons. In my opinion. These companies all represent good value and take care of their customers while providing an average to high quality product. Better than cheap stuff found on Amazon or others. Keep up the great work James. And please try Adams, and Sub 70. Even though it's not completely budget. These are Well worth the money. Also if you can find the Adams Tight lies from 3 years ago? (Mostly clearance now) That product was truly outstanding. I have 2 hybrids and a 5 wood in my bag. Best value DTC I found. With high quality and ease of use for the beginner. Cheers!
Nice video. I have an old yonex cyberstar driver (paid £10 off gumtree/ my whole set cost £120), it goes 250-270 and I play off 8. I think the new clubs do make a difference, but you need a bit of ability.
Stop try irons ramdomly. But go to Decathlon to test the last version of the Inesis 500. C’est bon ça ! There is no best proposition of power and forgiveness currently
Hi James Always watching your content, value.👍 I currently golf a Ping rapture 10.5 regular flex shafts also Ping that I hit very well around 200 to 220 meters what would you suggest as an upgrade ?
That is horrific…. Looks like a sports direct special. Looks like a £30 Slazenger. Compare it to the eleven driver with its premium shaft for £50 more with your discount code, conference vs premiership

I have a 7wood from this brand. I love it I hit it great off the tee and straight. I get anywhere from 210-220 out of it higher if I crush it. I use it on short par 4s all the time.
Clearly good value, as always residual value will be zero, so needs to be the driver for you. 2nd hand drivers in or around £150 are plentiful, and have proven workability, these will probably have dropped as low as they ever will, so use them and then sell them for what you paid. Used drivers are the safer bet….
Why do all the golf equipment reviewers go on about looks and sound when reviewing “budget” clubs? Surly it really doesn’t matter about that, if the performance is great. It could look like a pug and sound like a moose and I wouldn’t care if it went straight and long 😂
Ok so you're willing to use your own money to buy a complete trash driver from the next worse MLM golf company next to Warrior golf. Can you please gilve a Maltby driver a chance? For just a few bucks more, you can get a tour model driver with actual tech, worlds better shaft, full adjustability, and ball speed and distance to rival the big brands. Would 8 gram of lead tape just the front under side not resolve the high spin rate? Working the same as a sliding weight?
You ask if the color would put me off .. well that’s the same color as my car so…. No it wouldn’t 😂
Only thing is for 175 you can get really Ping g400/Sim2 etc type drivers and have a really solid shaft. So is it really worth?
Looks wise, the club does resonate! Thanks James
There seems to be an issue with your sim measuring club speed - one of the shots it shows 133 CHS. With all due respect, Rory isnt swinging that fast.

Please compare it to a Wilson Launchpad 2 driver. Or to a MacGregor Magtec X2 or Slazenger V300 driver.
Companies over charge way too much for there products. I haven't bought a big brand club in a long time.
