I can’t comment on the schools, but I’d definitely pick Montreal if I were looking at cities. Being 5 hours from home but in a place which is bilingual, partly walkable, full of cool history, and has great food, all combine to make it a very cool place to be. Good luck on your decision, we’ll be glad to watch your videos no matter where you end up.
SEPTA Regional Rail has some major disadvantages when compared to The MBTA. I am speaking as a former resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Fitchburg, Massachusetts. For one thing, not a single SEPTA regional rail car has a restroom on it. This may not mean much to a person who is below age thirty, but, if you are an older person, or a Diabetic, then restrooms on coaches ARE A MUST. Additionally, none of the SEPTA rail lines serve Urban commuters who must travel over long distances. SEPTA’s longest line is 40 miles to Newark in Delaware, roughly the equivalent of the MBTA Worcester line. The MBTA rail line to Providence, Rhode Island is 62 miles. The MBTA Fitchburg Line (the one I used to commute) is about 54 miles to Wachusett Station. The MBTA is able to cover such distances because the trains do not require the extensive electrical catenary infrastructure SEPTA Multiple Units require. Catenary is the reason SEPTA discontinued its trains to Allentown, Reading which were original diesel hauled, in the 1980’s despite the fact, the demand for trains in these cities remains high. One last point; SEPTA trains routinely stop at stations too closely located together reducing speed resulting in greater travel time, even if Multiple Units have greater acceleration than diesel locomotives of the MBTA. SEPTA operates regional train service more like Interurbans, or, even worst, extended Subway, due to the restricted coverage of its Blue and Orange Subway lines.
Everyone has their own way of saying CP/KCS or CPKC...honestly i like saying the individual on their own because CPKC is a stupid name for a merged railroad and too long...
I would love for you to stay in Boston. But Montreal would be a good seccond option, I went there over febuary break. But follow where you heart take you. If you move out will it be staying as Boston by Rails or [New city] By rails?
Awesome Update Video! Stay in Boston. They have insane places to go.
I am quite familiar with the Septa Silverliner 5’s. Love them. Live Boston also. Being Irish, how can you not???????
Haha, true!
2:29 Honestly, The MBTA should by the ACS64’s when Amtrak gets rid of them
Hope you find your self well with college!
Great video! I haven't reached the point of "master" yet, but maybe someday...
