  • I wash my hair once every two weeks, with an all-natural product straight from mother earth. How did I go from shampoo junkie to this? Check out the video to find out!
Going vegan is a beautiful process. It starts with upwatting what you eat, and ends up revolutionising most other areas of life, too.
(Any questions for Chloe? Contact her directly at: www.chloedunn.c...)
So, our beauty regimens receive a much-needed overhaul. After all, what we put on our body goes straight into our bloodstream. Add to that the (still woefully common) practice of animal testing, and you’ve got yourself a solid argument to continue down that road less travelled.
Growing up, I was fascinated by the myriad colours and smells of conventional beauty products. To me they symbolised a coming of age, making them all kinds of intoxicating. But over time, I realised with indignation that these products were just plain toxic.
These days I find nature intoxicating, and I’m having a love affair with a daring tome called ‘Renegade Beauty‘. This book is magical - I’ll leave it at that for now. Suffice to say this isn’t the last time you’ll hear us expound on the joys of making healthier choices for your beauty care products.
Because the thing is, while an iridescent L’Oréal shampoo might give you shiny hair on the first use, it doesn’t have your longterm beauty and wellbeing in mind, i.e. it strips your hair of its natural protective sheen, and leaves behind a slew of gunky nasties. And when we pare down and use 100% natural and kind products, we rediscover the beauty that lay within the whole time.
An extra perk that I forgot to mention in the video is that travelling becomes a breeze when you only have a couple of jars of simple beauty care ingredients to take along with you and when you don’t need to wash your hair every other day.
Ok, so I get a few funny looks going through security with all my white powders, but hey. That’s the price of being a hair renegade.

Thank you for this video! I’ve been transitioning to minimalism and swapped to natural shampoo bars... Unfortunately, they still made a bunch of my fine, thin hair fall out. I’m going to try the baking soda and ACV rinse before using clay, instead! I so appreciate you talking about this. 🙏🏻

Hi! I really liked your video. I took the "opportunity" of the quarantine to try the no-poo method, using water only which is not yet a success for me. I might try the cocoa powder for the bad days! :) As an alternative was thinking of trying Rhassoul clay, but a part of me wonders of the environmental impact of clay harvesting. Adding to that the transportation from Morocco to Canada (for me)...it just feels wrong. I'm still looking for other options. However, I'm really happy to watch this video and read the comments and see that more people are interested in stopping the release of products that hurt mother nature. Thank you!

have you ever tried kaolin clay in hair? ive been using it sort of as a dry shampoo, like how you use the cornstarch but I put quite a bit more on and then shake out the excess and leave it overnight to soak up the oils and I wake up with practically grease-less, volumized hair. I don't know if using clay in this way is a bad idea long term as I suspect It could lead to things like build up and clogging or whatever but ive found its a good way to extend periods between washing by a day or two.

But I do spend about 10€ every 2 months for their shampoo xD but it is worth it! It doesn’t have any silicone or parabhens in it and I did saw in the beginning that my hair would grease more and I wasn’t blown away by the results. After a month or so... I’ve found myself buying it again and ever since. I wash my hair once a week and it looks more and more shiny. I guess I could still do more but - baby steps.
