  • My name is Erik. I’m a digital nomad traveling around the country in my Subaru Forrester and today I’m escaping normal life in Pennsylvania. My first stop was the famous town of Gettysburg, where one of the bloodiest battles in all of the Civil War happened. I then continued on to Leigh Gorge State Park, the town of Jim Thorpe, the Poconos Mountains, Nayaug Park Gorge, Wenzel's Treehouse, Brooks Coal Mine, the Archbald Pothole and I attempt to swim at 7 Tubs Recreational Area.

I wish you had stayed longer in Jim Thorpe. Its absolutely ripe in history. The Molly Maguires, hand print in the old jail. So many inventions - lock system, macadam - Josiah White. Its called Jim Thorpe because he is buried there. Town used to be called Mauch Chunk but when the town agreed to have a burial location for Jim Thorpe, they changed the name. Great coal mine museum in Lansford, PA and you can go down into the mine. Its about 15 minutes from Jim Thorpe. So much history. So many beautiful nature spots too. I grew up there and was my stomping grounds for many years. You want a view and a bit of an adventure, ride the train and when you go over the trestle, you’ll be in awe.

Hey, I am planning my own trip across the country after seeing your first video on it and it's cool to see you go to my own backyard. I've been all over Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and I feel like can only see the same few places and small 1500 foot mountains so many times before I start to get bored of it and want to get out. The Poconos are great, but they're just not really comparable to what is out West and a lot of people never realize it until they actually see some of those places out there firsthand.

      hey!
yeah, the Poconos were nice. i’m glad i went, however, i’ve been lucky and been out west and even more north- so it wasn’t the kind of mountains i thought i might see. nice area though.
Good luck on your trip! it’s a biiiig country. lots to see! enjoy and escape normal life while you can!

Great to see a video from you Erik. Sorry you missed out on the Seven tubs, that sounded amazing and I even stopped and looked it up. The only thing I ever really knew about the Poconos was the abandoned hotels/resorts that are there. I agree an Amish market sounds amazing, I know there are others in Ohio, Illinois and Iowa you can also check out. Or revisit Pennsylvania at some point, it doesn't have to be a one and done deal as you drive through. I think Pennsylvania is a beautiful state and look forward to exploring it someday myself. Enjoy your time in New York state. Its incredible there, definitely take all the back roads and enjoy the quaint small towns/old citys.
Look forward to your next video.

fair question- it’s the term given to anyone who works remotely (online) but doesn’t live in a house or apartment
