When cats bond with humans, they are just as loyal as dogs. And it goes both ways. After over 30 years, I still miss my little buddy smoke.
"Just as loyal as dogs" ..... recalls story of woman that dies in an apartment with 2 pugs, and they ate her eyeballs out of her face after being locked in with her body for like 2 days. Meanwhile this cat starts the video with not having eaten in a month, with plenty of good food available, and no decision between starvation and eating her owner.

I've been missing my Calli since February 2011.
The saddest part is.. she doesn't even know that he is dead and would never come back... She might be feeling abondoned... I cried so much seeing this.. this is heartbreaking

"Seeing her is like seeing my son." That is the saddest and yet most joyous thing I've ever heard. The cat's love is a reflection of the owner's love. The son is gone, but his love remains in the cat. No one is ever truly gone while their love remains.

When my brother died he left two cats. We put some of his shirts on the bed for them too sleep on. After a while the came around. So sorry for the loss of your son. And having too watch his beloved cat grieving.
After my daughter died in a car crash her siamese sat in her stinky sneakers shoe box in the closet for a week, broke my heart even more. Yes cats can grieve
This was heartwrenching to watch. The cat became depressed after losing its owner. I hope one day the spirit of the owner will visit his cat just so she can understand what happened to him.

This story made me cry. Cats internalise their heartbreak. Some stop eating, some get sick. No doubt Meow misses Songcheol terribly and is waiting for him to come back. They also understand more than we give them credit for.
Sometimes talking to them about what has happened in simple language, showing a picture of their human can help them understand. Not all cats will, but a few may. I had one such cat who adored my Mum. When she passed away in hospital, Princess never saw her again. She would cry and wail everyday. She stopped eating too. Out of desperation, I got my Mum's picture and through my own tears, talked to her. I was so surprised when she recognised Mum and meowed in the way she used to around her. She put her paw on my arm and climbed into my lap. She was not a lap cat. Next day on she started eating a little by little. She died 18 months later.
I hope the father uses a leash on Meow, uses a pet carrier and takes her to where Songcheol is buried. She may be able to smell him, to help her understand and grieve. May God give you the strength to carry on after tragically losing your son.

This video is Heartbreaking! I am elderly, and my cat is a senior, everyday I ask the Lord to take me first because I would breakdown without my cat, she is 11 years old, an a Angel to me!
If you are the first to go don't you think it would be unfair to your 11 years old cat who will be abandoned by his master?

I wished that the departed father would have just put the cat in a carry to his funeral and placed the cat near the coffin. Then the cat would have smelled her owner and realized that he was no more... That poor cat will never know what happen to her beloved friend she must think that he had abandoned her...

All the chemicals that they use to preserve the body until the funeral, would have probably destroyed any familiar scent.
So very sorry for the loss of your son. Dad looks very upset, the cats distraught and doesn’t understand. He gives the dad something to do though to take care of the cat. They need each other right now. What a heart wrenching story.

17 years ago same happened to me. I move from a different country and my cat stay with my parents. From sadness he gave up food and end up pass way. I was very sad. Never had an animal after.

@@JustJ-Me When I was going to adopt my two cats from the shelter, my mom told me that I was not right in my head, because I knew that the cats were very anxious. She thought they would just scratch the furniture and I would have to clean up after them every day without even seeing them. She just couldn´t imagine to love a cat. Not even a year went by and she calls them her "grandchildren" (I was so confused :D) and now even cries, when the cats are "crying" because they are scared of being locked in the cat box in order to be taken to the vet. I also think that cats are incredibly empathic and gentle, that´s why it was so easy to build up a strong relationship to mine. Cats look straight into your eyes as if they´re reading your mind or your soul. They can express a lot of things with their eyes themselves. Fantastic, loveable, playful and loving creatures. I really love them.
Cats also have a good soul even better than humans.

When I had to put my dog "Rocky" to sleep, my cat "Baby" stopped eating. I ended up losing her too.
I've lost everyone now. My wife to brain cancer , my cat, my dog. I don't know why I'm even still here.

I think the poor cat askes why his owner is not coming back, and maybe even thinks that the owner abandoned him... it is so painfull to think that it was so painfull to her... that is why animals are vornable - we can not explain to them like humans.
My 1 year old kitten had a heart failure after sugery, and i rushed her to the hospital. They put her in an oxigen cell, and when i saw him, he was so afraid that he did not move ! My cat loves me very much, and when i tried to show him i am in front of him he just stood with his and eyes open wide...
I was sure that if i left him there he would die with stress, and the doctors toled me he could die at home, but in my gut i prefered he was with me, safe and not afraid.
When the put him to his cage and he saw me - he was my loveble cat again, he was so huppy. I love him so much, and he knows it. Maybe that is why he did not die that night.
I took him to the vet the next morning and we are giving him medications for his heart and kiddney to remove fluids.
The thing is - i felt what he was probebly feeling, and i knew my cat does not understand why he was brought to anoder place and without me. I just felt him.
This pure cat has no where to turn....

I feel really sad for this family. I just adopted a cat that's under a year old. His previous owner also died suddenly. It took about a week for him to feel comfortable in my home. It's going on 6 weeks now and he's doing great.

I feel her pain. Around 9:30 pm, June 16th 2021, my best baby, my soul cat, Vader had to leave & all the joy & happiness in my life is gone with. I'll never be ok again. I'm devastated. Momma, loves that sweet baby, my precious gift from God. There's nothing left in my life to wake up for. I just want to see you in the yard sunbathing/shade basking, I just want to hear what he has to say when I ask him, "Where is that best baby?" or "What's that best baby up to?" He was only 8, so young, I didn't even get to say goodbye. I'll never forgive myself for losing someone as amazing as you. I wasnt ready for this & can't bare to accept it. I'm still waiting for this misunderstanding to be cleared up because...he can't just be a memory. Because of him, I know unconditional love is real. Vader, I hope you don't have to wait much longer to come pick me up because I miss you so much it hurts my soul that your not here, knowing you don't have your momma with you is tortuous. Being here isn't worth it without you, little love. I can't stand the thought of 1 more wasted day missing your sweet face when I look to my shoulder. Why aren't you there for 1 more, "Hopup". What I wouldn't give to clean your smelly poop after dinner or give you wet face when I'm taking a shower or wake up to you settling on my head for a cat nap or chauffeuring you around on my back/shoulder or watch you jump on to your rolling chair so hard you free slide across the floor or call for you to come in for the evening(which I still do every evening) or listening to you whine shortly after that for up to an hour later or tell you I love you right before I walk out the door(which I still do) or being greeted at the door everytime I get back home with a stretch & a bow or telling you I love you before I go to bed(which I still do). I'm gonna miss missing you when I'm away. Your still my best baby, you always were & always will be. I'll be here waiting for you to come pick me up so hurry, please. Your momma loves you, Vader.

@@jacquelynpowell7964 my Great Aunt lived alone and she had adopted a little black cat a couple years before she passed. She had never had children so she spoiled her pets and treated them like children. She lived 5 states away and was very independent, and had plans to be buried when she passed and let the family know afterwards. She worried people would get hurt rushing to see her body laid to rest. She also worried about her little cat, and arranged for a family with a young girl to take her cat and take care of her. My Aunt loved the little cat, when it got bed time she would go to bed and the little cat would follow her. She would sing to the little cat every night. My Momma spoke to the people after they called to let us know Aunt had passed. They told Momma that little cat was sad and didnt do alot just grieved. But she went and slept with their little girl, and they said it was strange, the little cat sang to the little girl every night while she was laying in bed. Our babies love us and remember us, that little cat sang to the little girl like my Aunt sang to her.
Recently lost an old orange tabby I rescued from a hard life 10 years ago. I did my best to take care of him and show him love. He grieved when we lost Monkey and I started giving him treats so he got overweight and it was hard on his hips. Eventually I brought in a feral to keep him company and maybe make him excercise. He was not healthy and he lost use of his hind legs I took him and let the vet try and save him but ended up having to hold him too while his little soul left him. That little feral was grown and he grieved for old Puss for two months. He still looks sometimes for him. I miss him too, he always showed me he was glad I helped him and loved him. Always laid on my when I watched tv when Monkey died he started watching guess he saw me hurting and he would reach and touch my face real easy. Always slept by me or on my chest. I feel I let him down he had such a short little life. He was so quiet when he was here, but it is so much quieter with him gone. Miss my boys.
Iv got to siamses they wouldnt handle it. But they are best cats iv got bad depression my 6yld has been threw alot with me. The 3yld is just starting show effection but hes just as good as older one

That is so utterly sad.0 my one cat died and sister was crying for 4monthes. Now she still cries because she's afraid of being alone.animals do feel sorrow.
I agree- they absolutely do feel sorrow. If I hadn't moved back to live with my dad to take care of my mom's cats after she passed I'm quite sure they wouldn't have lasted as long as they did. They would run from my dad and anyone else, but trusted me, thankfully. My mom's biggest concern when she was dying from ALS was her cats being taken care of AND LOVED.
When I was working a lot and my cat was often alone she started pulling out her hair and the vets explained it was anxiety/ depression- based. I started spending even more time with her and actively playing with her and her toys and eventually she stopped pulling her hair out. (I had a very needy Snowshoe breed that HAD to be touching me in some way, even if it was just her paw resting on me when I was around) They're more sensitive than a lot of people care to acknowledge.
Now I'm in tension.. I have to go for college after a month and all my 6 cats are very much attached to me.. how will they live?
Facetime with your cats so that they can see and hear you. That is what I had to do for my bird while I had surgery & rehab. My friend cared for my bird who refused to eat. The day after my surgery we did a video chat from the hospital, my bird started singing & ate when he saw me & heard my voice.
@@lindaa2437 You are so right! I had to have emergency surgery and was in rehab. My poor was crying and barely eating even though my neighbour came by every day. So we did a videochat. When he heard voice he went crazy and started to talk to me too!

My godfather passed from covid a couple months ago. He had a cat for 6 years, I’m now responsible for her after his passing. Took her a month or 2 to get used to me. She’s still super distant but I can tell she still has some trust for me which means the world. I just don’t know how to tell if she’s grieving or anything. She’s always been the type to lay around the house all day even before the passing. I don’t know I’m just super worried I’m not doing the best for her, I want to be there for her in hopes of building our bond. She didn’t have to move homes, me and my family moved in to my godfathers home and I took over my godfathers room so hopefully that comforts my cat a little more. I don’t know she’s been thru so much change in the last 5 months My heart breaks for her I just pray I’m doing everything right for her.

This is one of the most heartbreaking videos I have ever seen. Cats and dogs have a bond with their human parents that is sometimes stronger than humans have for them. I love cats! I was a pet parent to a beautiful calico cat named Tina. We were inseparable. Every night she slept on my pillow right next to my head. I really miss her!!
Years ago,I had a female Siamese cat. My ex shook me during an argument and my siamese leaped through the air with a loud growl and landed on him. She scratched him up pretty bad. He bled for the rest of the day.

My boyfriend passed suddenly, behind he left his family, his furbaby; Kuka, and me. Kuka was my cat, but truthfully, Dennis was her skinpa. She also waitied at the window for him for months, but he can't come back. When someone enters the garage, or our driveway, the look of excitement she gets when she goes running to the window to see him once again, is always followed by her sad disappointment. Ever so slowly, she is realizing he is not coming ever again. My heart aches for her, and is broken over his loss. She just feels abandonment from the person she loved and trusted most. Soon we have to leave the only home she's known, and any link she had to him. I sincerely hope this isn't more traumatizing and devastating for, but rather, that it will be a positive experience and help in her confusion. She is now my furever kitty, and i will do whatever needs done for her, until we are no more as well.
I was not planning to cry today. The fact that animals does not even understand the concept of anything, let alone death just made this more heartbreaking.

Dear Father of Sungcheol,
I am very very sad that your wonderful son has moved on and is now waiting for his loved ones (people and pets). It is extremely obvious that you raised your child and surrounded him with deep love and support. I am sure that you never imagined he would be away from you so young and so soon.
Please understand that your words of his sudden departured from this life to be with God was profound and heartfelt. Still as much as I love and appreciate the meaning and loyalty of pets overall it's very obvious that your wonderful son was a special and / or spiritually connected person. In fact I have the sense that he was a very rare human being. And I am sure that he possessed a gift in which his presence among others, both people and animals, had a calming or comforting effect on those within his presence.
You may ask, how can a complete stranger know anything about him?
Well, the fact that you described the deep emotional effects that your son has made on the behavior of his cat.
Overall, this story about him and the emotions his absence has evoked in his beloved pet are very obvious in the cat's daily behavior and life.
Therefore, in my limited observation of the life of your son your story is completely telling. When missing the amazing effects of one person on those around him it is highlighted by the enormity of its connected, comforting, and special effects others notice once they are gone. As the old phrase states, " YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU GOT UNTIL IT'S GONE ". I have been exposed to this phrase for my entire life and I think that your story about your wonderful son says it all.

Thanks for posting. I had my "Angel" for 20 years. Cats are so loving and smart and have so many emotions...they're little souls that will be in heaven with us one day.

As a cat lover myself and a Christian I'll share a personal information about some of my life experiences with pets: I once had a friend who had several cats who lived in a large residential gated community, she always had the cats indoors but over a 20 month period there were 4 instances where one got out and my friend spent hours searching for it to no avail and then she called me on my cellphone as I was driving. I prayed with her on the phone for a minute while still in the car, and within 5 minutes she called me back saying that the cat suddenly ran home to her. I've come to understand that God loves our animals as well as humans so when I pray for pets has God to heal them as they are party of the people's family. I've been blessed to see how God answers my prayers and did instant healings even when I prayed for them on the phone or without seeing or knowing them.
Concerning this cat in this video, I would simply ask God to send one of his angels to speak to the cat so that it can understand that it's owner has left for good and that the cat will be over it's grief and release him and be comforted in his passing.

My uncle‘s father‘s cat did the same.... it stopped eating at some point wandering the house looking for him crying... my uncle put a jacket his father used to be wearing into a corner of the house and the cat started eating again but it’s still laying on the jacket and searching the house. It’s been a year...

The same happened with someone I know, he had a Dog, after he died, the Dog also stopped eating, waiting for the owner, and because of less care from the wife. Unfortunately the Dog also passed out sometimes after he died.
I feel so sad and angry when I think about it, and we live in a Rental house where dog is not allowed since there is no place for the dog to play, or else we would have took the Dog to us.

I cried when i saw this as i love animals and. feel Meows pain as i still miss all my boved sons and daughters , cats and dogs alike I lost them years ago one by one as i raised them as a loving little family and i have their memories in my heart forever as i just have to think abou them , look at their pictures and hear certain songs and tears weell up in my eyes as i long to hold tgeir sott warm sweet cuddly little bodies in my arms petting and caressing and loving them saying their names and playing with them . Animals and humans form a very strong bond of love with each other that can never be broken because its given by God to our hearts when we love our little animals , our beloved pets like our children and i will never stop loving and missing their precious little lives . I still miss my dogs Samantha Ginger and Lucy my cats Spanky Floyd . These were my mothers pets and mine also. I still miss my beloved pets Buddy , my sons ,
Ruddy Guy , Grace mommy girl, & her daughters ( Grace s' and Buddys own ) all my own daughters UD Juniour Lady and Grady .Cali girl Shorty boy Zity my son Abea and Dusty my daughters Scoiter Shorty nd Tiger , my sons and Skippy my daughrer and Dusty my daughter. I miss Fluffy Beloved little sister of Pookie as i lost her August 28th 2019 to anal cancer 2 malignant tumors under her tail the vet couldnt save her .Pookie and i are heartbroken and having it very hard but at least we have each other and our loving .memories of Flully so i fully feel Meows pain and anguish l and and can sympathize for hef .and i hope shell eat and drink her water and get well in time as i know we we will see our beloved pets by the rainbow bridge one day as i have this hope in my heart as i pray time and love wi heal Meows heart . My friend's father passed away. He and his cat were always together. Sat on this chair and watched TV. The poor cat was so sad he walked around with his head hanging down and wouldn't eat. One day Michelle's boyfriend came by and sat in her dad's chair. His cat came around the corner, jumped, and ran to the chair! When he realize it wasn't Dad, I swear his face fell, and he walked away with his head hanging down. Everyone cried.
