The containers lock together with what is called an ISO pin. It is a large"T" nut on the end of a 1.25 inch threaded rod with a large castle nut on it and a retaining pin that gos through the gap in the castle nut and a hole drilled in the threaded rod . The "T" nut is welded to the threaded rod and the unit is assembled then the hole is drilled in them At least that is the way that I have made them. There may be another design. The t nut is put through a oval hole on the container and the rotated . The castle nut is tightened on the threaded rod which is through a plate in the deck or another container, thus creating tension between the t nut and the castle nut . When there is adequate tension the retaining pin ir clip is placed through the hoLe in the threaded rod and a gap in the castle nut, preventing the nut from becoming lose or backing off of the threaded rod
