Imagine setting off across the Pacific like the Polynesians, in handmade canoes. The Pacific looks like a pretty unforgiving place, with no room for error.
I can understand sea sickness because in fast motion the ship makes the humorous illusion of spinning in a circle towards the left headed Eastward and right headed Westward.
