Damn, Austin. You are hands down, the hardest working content creator on all of RUclips. And you still take time to explain to your viewers why you did what you just did.
Man your attention to detail is remarkable. The way your prep your work is next level you do your due diligence. You do amazing work keep the content coming. Can’t wait to see this Tacoma build fished up.
I bought a 91 F 250 new that was damn near the same color. In the dark it looked black. I put aluminum American Racing wheels and 33" BFG's on it. That is one I should have kept. It had an injected 460 with 4:10.1 limited slip axles in it. It pulled like a tractor and the milage was not as bad as you might think, it just went and never had to get into the throttle.
Looks good. nice video. Next job think about using a sealer prior to your basecoat. the sealers can be tinted to get close to your final color. this saves on paint quantity and helps coverage. keep up the good work.
Nice Job! The amount of patience you have for paint is beyond my realm. I think you could have kept a positive pressure (or neutral with dual?) booth by flipping the filter to the back side of the intake fans. fans pull way better than they push (especially through filters) At my last job we had "swamp coolers" basically giant fans with hog hair filters (3 layers) that had a water bar keeping it wet and it filtered like crazy. Look into a used bouncy house fan that would probably pull enough air past those thic filters
Freaking awesome man, can't wait to see it once its done. Nice job! For the canopy i would try the thicker layer of clear on it. If it works, that's one spot that could use it, canopies catch all those darn tree branches! Lol
I know we're always our own harshest critic...but man, credit where credit is due. Give yourself a pat on the back, this truck turned out amazingly well!
Ya, the KIWAMI seemed to work better. Material was laying down really wet and smooth. Fog everywhere, even with your light it was getting really hard to see you lay down the clear. Final result looks really great. Scuff and buff is going to make it look amazing.
Looking great Austin! Can't wait to see it all back together and buffed out! Ready for you to put the lift and wheels and tires on it too! Are you doing custom heavy duty bumpers on this one?
Looks really good for an at home paint booth…. If you really wanted to make it look like a show finish go for a flow coat. Pain in the butt but you have a lot of clear left over and the finished product would be amazing! Either way this is going to come out sick when it’s done.
درود،با علاقه ویدیوهای شما را دنبال میکنم و تغریباً همه را دیده ام. بسیار عالی و حرفه ای کار میکنید و تمام قسمتهای کامیون را باز سازی میکنید. موفق و پیروز باشید.
I could tell it was getting foggy in there, but you made the best of it. Gotta work with what cha got! Turned out great though, can’t wait to see after the c&b.
Looks great considering you're not an auto painter, I have similar problems in my bouncy house inflatable booth. Once you get the fog of clear in the air, you're basically winging it and hoping you're pointing the gun in the right spot. I'd rather be a little light on the clear and have to wet sand/polish over being too heavy and dealing with runs and sags that take a lot more caution to remove.
😎👍looks great and stoked to hear that you're going to paint match and install the shell on it. I then invision one of your masterfully fabricated roof racks to go on top of the shell... This is going to be a great little truck. As for the booth yeah man it was a fog bank in there. Well it's something to work on for the future and I am sure you will find some answers. Great job and as always looking forward to seeing what's next... 😎 👍 A really cool roof rack would be one that fits on the bed rails. Using hoops that go outside/over the shell and the rack built onto the hoops. Allowing you to use with or without the shell on the truck. As well as being strong. But your fabrication skills will guide you... just a great truck. 👍
So, why not fans on the intake side of the booth, AND on the exhaust side? that way each fan is only pulling air through a single filter rather than both. this will also help with the negative pressure. You'll probably want more fans on the exhaust side still because as the filters plug up with paint they will get more restrictive.
I am curious as to why you did not carry the paint down to the bottom on the back of the cab? Would seem to be easier than taping it out as well as more uniform in coloring for anyone looking there?
Hello I like your videos, and I want to ask you something I m about to do the swap on my 1993 Toyota pickup 3.0l with automatic transmission and I have 2 options 1.-complete donor 1996 4 runner 3.4l 2wd WITH the ECM or UCMI mean non 4x4 , or 2.- complete donor chasis with engine 3.4l and 4x4 manual transmission no ECM or UCM On the option 1 do I need a ECM or UCM for 3.4l engine and needs to be automatic transmission 4x4 On option 2 if I go manual transmission a ECM or UCM 3.4l 4x4 manual transmission Or any 3.4l UCM or ECM will works for any option? Thanks
Should have popped the screen out, nothing better than a new windscreen on a fresh respray. That’s some crazy clear mist nearly need a fog light on the spray gun
I feel as if I have just completed a milestone on my truck! Ha!! 😁 Problem is, this isn’t my truck and I haven’t done anything at all except watch Austin work his bowhonky off! Although, I did like and subscribe… Does that count? 👍🏼
I use DeVilbiss ProLite guns, and for clear I use T110 cap and a 1.2mm needle. Think you said you use the TE20 cap, which I can't get to grips with for clear. Check out TheGunman on RUclips, he's an expect on the Prolite and gets glass like results with it. Also, how many turns out on the fluid are you? I run with 3 turns out max, I never run with full fluid.
Damn, Austin. You are hands down, the hardest working content creator on all of RUclips. And you still take time to explain to your viewers why you did what you just did.

I had my 93 painted last year along witha rebuilt R22 engine these old yota-s make grate daily drivers with a little TLC....👍
That thing is ready to welcome the Spring!
Can’t wait to see the rim/tire/suspension package you picked for it.
You took the words out of my mouth! lol
Coming after paint!!!

Thanks 👍

Most paint booths I've seen have floor exhaust. It pulls everything down and keeps the booth really clear.
you haven't been in many shops then. The majority still aren't downdraft.
your thoroughness pays off in the end man. Good job
Thank you!

Yeah I like the gun so far and for the price!! The fog needs attention haha I could have got a better outcome if I could see!! Time for a real booth!
Looking great Austin! Can't wait to see it all back together and buffed out! Ready for you to put the lift and wheels and tires on it too! Are you doing custom heavy duty bumpers on this one?
I can't wait as well! Yes I'm planning for some bumpers!!

Looks great Austin as always you do great work
👏👏Very nice, this is an awesome build
Looks pretty sweet, Austin! I had a few doubts when I saw that thick fog you were working in. Great work!
Yeah I can’t seem to get the “booth” to work! Thanks!
@@austinniemela you need a fan sucking the air out to help with the “fog”. There has to some negative pressure. Keep up the good work man!
@@kdbl007 I did switch the fans around to suck they air out and it isn’t any better. I think the filters plugged up quick

Yeah that’s true! I didn’t get a single run in the entire truck so far! Maybe I need to lay it in heavier haha
Going to look sick with some decent rubber

Yeah I noticed it worked good at first, by the some I got to clear the filters were plugged up and did nothing!

Not needed, factory doesn’t fully paint the back either it’s just dusted! No one will ever see it so why waste the material!? That’s my idea anyway
good job man. looking forward to seeing it completed back together

25 psi!

maybe you have friends that do HVAC and you could get a couple of those fans they've replaced, one in one out.

I used the 1.3 and TE20. I was full fluid and fan at 28-30 psi! I can get the Iwata kiwami to lay clear down better!
