Daughter on backing vocals, dancing and headbanging as her father delivers his iconic solo on the same stage-this moment feels like the perfect culmination of life’s journey
I knew that once David Gilmour stated playing more and more concerts that his guitar playing would shapen as well as his vocal cords which is amazing now, he was a little bit rusty in the first couple of concerts in Rome . I cannot believe that he is78 and a half years old now and can play guitar and sing like this it is amazing. I have been following pink floyd since 1969 snd David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist on the planet he can really bend those strings to get those notes, what a fantastic gift this man has. And to still tour and perform like this at his age is amazing.
This comment won’t really mean a lot to most people but I have to put it on here as I’m seeing so much positivity here in the comments. I was here on this show. I was on the very right of David almost behind the stage if anything. To be that close to GOD himself after a 15 year wait of me trying to get tickets simply meant the world to me. This gig was the best I’ve been too in all my 25 years of life and it wasn’t even close. The sound quality was fabulous and to have my first and probably last Gilmour experience here at Albert Hall was a genuine dream come true for me. I gods honest truth cried in the stand for 10 minutes after this solo finished. Thank you David
I cried too after this too, last night. I was lucky enough to see The Wall performed at Earls Court and was wearing the T-shirt I’d bought there last night. I was only 17 when I saw The Wall and didn’t realise how iconic it was at the time. Feeling lucky to have David performing and recording again. What a legend. The best.
Well I probably never get to see David gilmour live. Do wish I can but unless he comes this way up north. Sheffield Manchester Leeds I not be able to. Fantastic guy long may he reign
Romany is so Gilmour ..I love her talent and her energy..of course David is always a guitar god ...Guy Pratt is always a bass guy for PF..I wish I was there ..greeting from Canada🧡💛
I was there. Absolutely stunning performance throughout all the show. In a magically warm atmosphere. The public, the band, all was full of love for this man, shining, once again, with his guitar, music and voice. Romany absolute gem.
This night was so special - to be in the presence of a guitar god - those of us who grew up with Floyd from 60’s onwards cried because years of life memories flooded back to us- we were there with him every note, every lyric - hearing the RAH come alive singing along to this…. Glimpse of heaven…. God bless you David Gilmour for a perfect memory. Best of all my sons and grandsons were with me - carrying the torch - this music will never age ❤️🙏
@@dc.coversph 100% agree, when I first heard Gilmour was touring, looked for Guy Pratt and Steve DiStanislao's names on the band listed. Was surprised. The Pompeii version of Comfortably Numb is magical. Play it often.
For me, now in my 70s, this makes me nostalgic and happy to see David bringing Romany into the experience of performing (and obviously having a blast) onstage with him at this famous venue, at an age similar to his at the rise of PF from an esoteric little band to a major creative force.
I was there…probably the best musical experience of my life. A genius at his best. This was an outstanding performance and with the added bonus of Guy Pratt on bass I was simply blown away. So many goosebump moments, especially as I never imagined I’d ever hear Pink Floyd’s songs performed as they were meant to be heard. What a special evening!
Lunga vita a Re David Gilmour 👑 !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
There's nothing you can do but take your hat off to that god, playing like that at 78 years old is complete science fiction. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart ... 👌🎩
The rust is off. At 78 years old, he proves once again he’s still the best guitarist in the world today. What a freak of nature. Clapton must cry when he watches this bloke play guitar live. Makes me cry watching him on stage with his daughter, so cool
I said to a few critical commentators that it always takes time to get back to form after a long layoff as a vocalist, he will never be the same as age does impact on all of us but it is an honest performance , no autotune or lipsync like too many others, his guitar playing will also be sharpening up as well as the old muscle memory kicks in.
@@desant8028 You paid 5 concerts ?? ... Well, I was in Roma first one 27th sept, it was OK. I noticed some issues with his voice, but minor. Globally great great !
I took my daughter to this gig and it was a moment that will stay with us forever. Scattered was the best moment of the evening - it’s a belter of a song. Great crowd, great atmosphere and the best venue you could wish to see him in.
Unbelieveable! I have tears in my eyes. Thank you, Mr. Gilmour for the soundtrack of my live! And now, my 18 Years old doughter will hear your musik in the next generation of my family. She loves and knows your musik too! But first she loves Harry Styles...
Romany breaking character to absolutely ROCK OUT to one of the best of all time... her dad, brought a tear to my eye. What an amazing visual angle for whoever got this on camera!
Thanks for the post. I was there last night with my wife. I haven't seen Dave Gilmour since Pink Floyd played Earls Court on the Division Bell tour in 1994. Amazing night. As for the critics. David hasn't been out on tour for a long time and let's not forget that he's 78 years old! He still exudes the magic that he had when I first saw Floyd in 1981 playing The Wall. Beautiful night, amazing band and David is such a legend! 🔥 🎸 💥 🔥
I will be seeing him in New York on November 5th. Will be traveling from south Florida just for the show. Based on this, I can’t wait. I’m 64 and saw the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour at Giants Stadium in 1988. I still am trying to wrap my head around the fact that the last time I saw David Gilmour was more than half of my life ago.
Who remembers on this same stage the fans dancing as if they were playing drums or fighting with the crowd? Seeing Romany is so incredible, she represents people like the same fans from years ago, people like us. There was David Bowie on stage that day. Richard Wright too. Guy Pratt who helped immortalize a new layer of voices for this song in P.U.L.S.E, now makes us imagine Rick's voice, one calling to the other. As Gilmour would call him in Echoes, the most prominent proof of this relationship. But also Crosby and Graham Nash take us back to something near and far at the same time, it was the On An Island tour. So many memories!
Thanks for posting...this is may the first time I've seen the first solo played from such a advantageous view as a guitar player....you can see his technique quite well from your angle so thank you!
I was intending to record this all night but when the time came I just had to stay right there in the moment. It was truly magic. So glad I got to see such a great version of this song with my own eyes! Thanks for getting this. Great video
By far the best rock guitar solo of all time! Not technically very difficult but a master piece of emotions! And amazing how David Gilmour can still play like that!
Even filmed from someone in the audience with a cellphone that was fantastic! BTW, saw Pink Floyd at one of the 7 nights at Nassau Coliseum, Long Island for The Wall tour when the album first came out. Was in high school then and now a grandfather. Weird and cool at the same time.
Thanks for the video. I've seen a huge amount of bands in my 68 yrs both here in the states and in europe. Unfortunately, Pink Floyd and David Gilmour never coincided with my travels.

Luck and Strange
Strong fathers produce weak children
Absolutely I loved this what a beautiful proud father daughter moment
I don’t think headbanging fits to that epic solo
@ronsom1976 she can do what she wants to it. He is effectively handing her over to his fans to give some continuation of that unique DNA to music.
I have heard of this song a thousand times and I still have ghoosebumps when he starts the second guitar solo... Gilmour forever
100% this
Same... The best solo ever
Absolutely! It’s written in my will that it’s to be played at my funeral!
Yep...every time. I don't know of another solo that so perfectly compliments both the music and lyrics of a song to convey such a powerful feeling.
This man improves in every concert of this tour. Incredible! 78 years.
