Fun fact: in a deleted scene in this episode, when lila and chloe are exposed, alya apologises to marinette and hugs her. I really wish this was kept in cause tbh she's been a lila defender since day 1 even though she's been tormenting her best friend

Honestly, Layla is just a D&D character who rolls too high on charisma stuff while not being played by someone who is charismatic or intelligent enough to pull it off.
As a teacher myself, I was especially appaled by seeing Ms. Bustier sending Lila and Chloé after Sabrina, after having witnessed such a meltdown by the latter against those two. I mean, WTF.
Ms. Bustier is a sweet woman but does NOT belong in a position of authority. She doesn't have the spine for it and is too gullible. I wouldn't call her corrupt like the rest of the faculty but perhaps she should be a preschool teacher or something. Maybe a daycare worker.
@@kainightshade5033 None of the so far seen teachers has a spine. Everytime, Chloe threatens them with her father, they break down and do, what Chloe wants. And Chloe's father let's himself bully from his 14 years old daughter.

They could also tone down the Chloe character bashing, i swear people say she is irredeemable more than they say it about Malty from Shield Hero and Malty is worse than her.
I despise Lila, not because she's evil, but because whenever she's on screen, the IQ of those around needs to drop to the single digits so that they'll fall for her lies. About the school system: I don't live in France but I have researched their education system for a project a while ago. So the kids from Miraculous are currently in "middle school" and as of season 5 they will graduate from there soon. After that graduation they will all go to different high schools (called "lycee"). The high schools are specialised in certain skill sets, which is why the students need to decide what their path in life will be so early. You could see a little bit about it in the episode "wishmaker" when Luka explained that he is going to a high school with a focus on music. Quite a few countries in Europe have a system of this sort. Usually the idea isn't that the children should decide early what career they want to take in the future. As far as I know they can often choose to just explain their interests and skills and then the teachers (and parents) discuss with them what path (which school) could lead them into the right direction. Then the kids will have much more time to decide what career they want. Though the amount of choices later will be narrowed down, because the students specialise in high school. Take me for example. I grew up in Germany and here... the school system is a little complicated to explain to Americans, but generally speaking there is a path for general education on A-levels, but graduating from there is a lot of work. If you know early what you want to do and the career you want doesn't need an a-level-certificate, then you can choose to go to a specialised school instead. I went to a school about arts, graduated there when I was 19, then studied design in a specialised college, and there at age of 22-ish I finally decided what career I want. Then I further specialised myself in college until I was 27: Today I am a UX/UI-designer with a master degree. Back in school I didn't even know that this job exists, but it's perfect for me.
My country has a similar system with the graduation from middle school to high school. With my marks on the finals ending up being much better than I expected and on behalf on the teachers' advice to my mom, I was enrolled in a high school that specializes in mathematics, natural science and (my class in particular) IT. Fast-forward several years later when I graduated from there and enrolled in an animation course at uni, because I've always been more the art kid, even all the way back in middle school. Just because I studied one thing in high school, didn't mean that I was set in stone to pursue that sort of career in the future. Then again, our city didn't have too many varied options to begin with, so in any case I wouldn't have gotten into an art school, because there wasn't really one at the time.
Seems like these decisions should be made between the teachers and students, and the class rep should have absolutely no involvement in this. Also, I'm sure the application process includes much more than just a form. This school has some really weird procedures.
@@empirestate8791 Oh yeah, I agree that the class rep has no business in those kind of important discussions and decisions. In German schools the only stuff that a class rep would do is hold speeches at events or help with organizing fun activities. I think they used to also carry "the class book" from the teacher's office into the class room everyday (a book where all teachers note down things like student presence and how students have behaved in class, if they did their homework, etc.). While this is an important document, it's not exactly life-changing stuff.
@@10Bendog Oh yeah, here in Germany you can definitely switch paths too, if necessary! However depending on which school you went to it could get difficult to switch paths, as often it would be required for you to repeat classes in a different school. If you're from a natural science school and you want to go into an art college - that would be less of an issue. But if you went to art school and want to become a doctor, then that's unfortunate. Because medicine is regarded as one of the higher degrees that require a graduation from the general-ed school with full scores in every subject (it's crazy). If you have graduated from the general school and don't have a full score everywhere, you can also work as a nurse assistant or as an ambulance driver for a while to get extra credits, but still the general certificate is mandatory to become a doctor in medicine. Here you can get a general certificate later in life as an adult too, with evening classes. But it takes so much time this way. That's why changing paths like this is not advised, unless you are REALLY passionate of achieving that other career.
In the end Ms. Bustie said "Chloe is irredemable. And there is no explanation to act like that." Okay Thomas. I think everyone get it. Chloe is the worst. Now please stop doing that because it's pathetic. Also no one say she is right. Even Chloe fans know her actions is wrong. They just say it has explanation. And she has potential. If you want to make her a villain. That's fine. But do it right. I never see a show that try to hurt fans.
Imo it was never really about Chloe getting a redemption or not, it's the fact that Thomas, a real person, is actively sabotaging his own show to make a fictional character look bad because he can't stand people not hating her, as if we're "supposed" to dislike Chloe more than Gabriel or Lila.
Unlike Thomas, I do believe Chloe has the potential to change if she'd like. However, that's not where she's at in life right now and it incredibly draining to see fans make her out to be this "fallen angel" that was done dirty. Chloe's character is an antagonist and always was! If she changes, fine. If not, also fine. If anything, I hope the write her off the show.
I would've really liked to see the scene of Alya apologizing to Marinette for not believing her after Marinette and Sabrina exposed Lila and Chloé with the other students also hugging Marinette as a way to apologize for the same thing and Adrien praised Marinette for finally exposing Lila. But even if it was cut I think it truly did happen, albeit off-screen. Perhaps they should make one of the future episodes show a flashback of that scene.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Not only does Lila have multiple mothers who are not aware of each other or what she is really doing, but she even has multiple fake identities? This girl is eligible to be on the FBI's most wanted list. At this point, I have no clue at all who she truly is under this mountain of lies.
Honestly, I’m getting CREEPY grown woman vibes from Lila.😥 For all we may know, with Lila’s constant lies, even her AGE could be a complete fabrication and she’s actually an adult woman trying to live out her teenage fantasy!
Lila is one of those characters that should have been a one and done antagonist, her constant involvement in the plot actively ruins the series, because in order to make her work you HAVE to make the rest of the characters morons with no long term memory in order for her to get away with lying time after time after time again. i'm happy she seems to be.... leaving the series for a good time as almost episode she has been a main part of has been some of the worst content in the series. Good riddance to bad, poorly written rubbish i say!
The main issue with Lila IMHO is that she is introduced, threatens to exact vengeance on the protagonist, then she is forgotten for AGES; then comes back threatens to have some major role, then is missing in action AGAIN for a whole lot of time... You gent invested in her arc(s) but then there's no payoff, or it arrives waaaay way later.
I get what your saying, I hate lila but to create a character do easily hate able is a accomplishment . It shows how the characters are immature and are growing up . Like Chloe knew Lila was a lier , Sabrina knew , Adrian knew , Alya thought some things wee said to lie but she's a nice person , But apart from that they are improving showing general character development. I believe everyone's knew someone's been bad but kept it to themselves in hope . Secondly Gabriel gave her spotlight on adds and a device making them want yo know what's real and not .
I‘m kinda disappointed tho that they cut out the apology scene from Alya and Ms Bustier…, I wonder why they deleted it🤔…, it seemed appropriate and necessary to me🤷🏻♂️…, the episode is still great, but that scene would have been the cherry on top…, and the scene was almost full out animated, which means that it was a last minute decision to cut it out…🤔 Off topic, but I love the animation in this episode…👍🏼
The ridiculous, over-the-top incompetence of adults in Miraculous has never bothered me because that's sort of a mainstay of many kids' shows and books, and I think it can be empowering for kids to learn that they have to find their own morality and not just trust that all adults have their best interests at heart, or mindlessly trust authority figures. So it's sort of a genre thing that I think just requires some easy suspension of disbelief. But the part where Marinette took apart a portable bathroom and manually installed her own electronically controlled switchable glass mirror kills a person's suspension of disbelief because it goes against the understood "contract" between the show and the audience of a program like this -- that the hero is using clever solutions that a kid could really pull off. As far as I can tell, regular "switchable glass" -- the kind that goes from clear to opaque electronically -- costs maybe $125 _per square foot_ for a small amount like Marinette has. So assuming that's, say, a 2 x 3 mirror (though it looks bigger than that), that's $750 just to buy _regular_ switchable glass. I can't even find pricing online for switchable mirror glass (which does indeed exist!), but I assume it would be even more, given how specialized the technology is. But I also want to know how Marinette got it on such short notice. It's not the kind of thing you can just buy at the hardware store, and transporting glass isn't fast or easy. Plus glass is.... extremely heavy for "normal girl with a normal life" Marinette to just be carrying around? I could've bought into this if they'd said that Max was in on Marinette's plan, because Max is apparently a supergenius, and maybe he could make switchable mirror glass in a pinch for Marinette, cut exactly to the dimensions of the portable bathroom, I guess. But nope -- apparently Marinette did this all on her own. Ah, well.
I've long stopped watching this show but Marinette has carried people on multiple occasions. She was never a "normal girl with a normal life". A normal girl doesn't go to school with the Mayor's kid, a tech genius, multiple rich kids, and a supermodel [all in the same class too]. A normal kid doesn't have the luxuries or strength she has.
Another flaw with this episode juleka learns to speak up , which is the same thing she learned in crocoduel did the writers forget that episode existed?
We now know why Lila always avoided playing sports: she was afraid her wig would fall off or get knocked off and she would be exposed. She goes by Iris Verdi (green iris) in season 6, although as Cerise she has amber eyes, so we can only guess her truths at this point. I feel her friendship with Chloe is more sincere than people think because with Chloe she gets to be her true villainous self and doesn't have to pretend to be who she pretended to be to everyone else. We shall see where they go with her from here. One thing is clear from what I have seen of Collusion and Revolution: Lila/Cerise/Iris will have a much bigger role starting in season six and that could mean that the writing for her will improve. Hopefully she becomes a better written villain than Gabriel ever was. I believe they are going with the Hidden Agenda Villain trope with her.
I just wondering, what took you so long, you damn idiots?! She's been telling everybody that lilla is a massive liar and honestly, they are easily falling into her BS.
There are few deleted scenes and in one of them Alya does apologise to Marinette and hugs her after Mrs. Bustier and later the entire gang hugs her and Adrien says to Marinette that she is incredible.

I have no idea where the person who wrote the subtitles got it, but Juleka doesn't say that she wants to be a mortician. She says "Moi, j'aimerais devenir [inintelligible]" which translates to "Me, I'd like to become [unintelligible]". Whatever she says, it sounds nothing like "croque-mort" or "fossoyeuse" or any word that remotely resembles "mortician".
10:56 - Yes, Audrey... I can't get over the fact that, in "Adoration", we were shown that ALL OF SUDDEN she didn't care about Chloé anymore, AGAIN, to the point that she considered her interchangeable with Zoé. And now again, ALL OF A SUDDEN, she cares again to the point of pushing André to abuse his power in order to keep Chloé from being expelled. What, why? And why does Chloé care about being expelled from school, since she repeatedly states she doesn't care about her education?
What's happening is like the mayor said, letting the school not take the blame would "make the institution look bad" it has nothing to do with Audrey caring about Chloe.
@@ahmadalamin9431 but André wouldn't really care about that, and we're shown that it IS indeed Audrey pressuring him into bullying the school principal so as to avoid Chloé being expelled.
@@kainightshade5033 With all due respect, how can you think that abandoning his daughter and leaving her with a horrible mother like Audrey is "good stuff"? If anything, that only shows that he hasn't actually changed, that he's still running away from his responsibilities. Chloe is his and Audrey's responsibility. *They* should be held accountable for the way she turned out to be.
11:47 Actually, I'm starting to think that Lila (or whatever her real name is), isn't a teenager at all. Let me tell you about the case of Treva Thornberry, a woman who spent most of her twenties pretending to be an abused teenage girl who was taken in by many compassionate families. She also made several false accusations of being sexually assaulted by grown men; many of which were disproven due to alibis or witnesses, which caused her to get found out. And after she was found out, she would flee, pop up somewhere else in America, and repeat. She was eventually arrested in 2001. And after what we've seen, I can say Lila is based on Thornberry, except she decided to stay in the same city the whole time, which is very risky and stupid.
I feel like this episode (and the next one as well) has a lot of concept vs execution problems. In concept, this execution is great: Sabrina is being pushed too far by Chloe and Lila, so she helps Marinette set up a trap to expose Lila and Chloe for who they realy are. It works, but Lila sets up the next stage of her villain story. However, the execution of the episode was very poor: Chloe and Lilas plan to fake the career forms is stupid and should never have worked with miss Bustier and the other staff knowing the class well enough; Marinettes plan with the porter potty is also super ridiculous; Lilas way of just walking away after she's been expelled and just randomly becomming a new person is even more ridiculous. I get that they need to move the plot forward for the finale, but to do it in such an unrealistic and ridiculous way, even for Miraculous standards, is very disapointing to me
You would think the teachers would immediately suspect foul play on the part of Lila and Chloe for the career form messups, but somehow they're completely 2 dimensional surface level thinkers.
Not to mention how to doesn’t even make sense that Lila and Chloe got elected as class reps anyway, particularly because they’ve made it clear that no one likes Chloe. And the fact it’s literally 2 weeks before the end of the school year
Tbh, Lila could’ve just said, “I have a sociopath disease” like she once claimed to have a lying disease, and the idiotic teachers and students would have just believed her.
Why did it have to be the bathroom why couldn't Sabrina have just like, run into something else, like a classroom that is having "construction" done on it? The classrooms all have hall windows.
Did it seriously take this much for everyone to realize that Lila is a liar? But for real though, I’m so happy she was finally exposed, and hopefully the show will stop dumbing down the characters just to make another seem like this massive genius or whatever.
Fr she wasn't even that manipulative, like the pressuring Sabrina to confess scene was just everyone being dumb like not a single person there questioned lila's idea as if they didn't know mari for years & went thru sm w her & trusts this girl who transferred months ago gosh🤦♀️
I heard that at Mangafest in Spain, Thomas Astruc said that Chloé and Sabrina's relationship would improve notably in the future. But I found that hard to believe, especially after seeing this episode I really don't think that's ever gonna happen.
One thing that was a bit disappointed about this episode was there was a scene in the leaked version where alya appologise to Marinette for not believing her which was a bit weird but apparently they just decided to remove that bit.
@@Deen_Over_Dunya_Love I think she might become more interesting when her backstory is explained she is the main villain in season 6 so everything about her plan’s should be explained
My new headcanon is that "Lila" is 16 or 17, she just looked more mature with her actual haircut, I believe this is why she is so condescending and self-assured as well as the reason she has so much autonomy compared to how much the other students have to answer to their parents.
"Lila" being a young adult con artist who still looks like a young teen and likes controlling and manipulating others because she can would make so much more sense. But sense has no place in this show.
@@creativerealms it’s kinda like actresses who look young and are rly short that act as teenagers in movies. But like it’d be major creepy cuz she flirted with Adrien
As a french one myself, I can confirm that our school system isn't like what it is in this episode. We don't do application forms before our second year in high school (I've never done anything like that in middle school, but hey maybe today it's different, I'm 25 currently so things may have changed since I was 15 years old) and if we are undecided, a guidance counselor must precisely help us find the higher education towards which we could orient ourselves
How did Mari pull that off without arousing suspicion? Did they not investigate the students for the bathroom being rendered unusable? How did she buy the exact mirror without alerting her parents? Were there no security cameras to see her installing it? Surely it's easier and cheaper to just find an inconspicuous bodycam to give sabrina to wear than to find, pay for, and fit a whole 2 way mirror and mic. Plus, it would've been able to capture all of the details of plans made outside of school. Marinette and her overcomplicated plans and stalkerness.
Wouldn’t have been as idiotically dramatic, so the writers of Miraculous would never have done that. Also, it’s realistic, and the writers HATE realistic.
This was another example of… Such a GOOD episode, yet so CRINGE😂😂😂 I‘m glad they finally destroyed Lila… Great character development regarding: Sabrina Juleka Mr. Damocles

This was the most satisfying episode. Sure, the writing was filled with plot holes, and that school is genuinely stupid, but it was very satisfying. Seeing Lila and Chloe both defeated was just awesome. Really wish more episodes were written like this.
Tbh for me it was not satisfying at all. I don't care if Lila is defeated or not,and Chloe...why did they do her so dirty. And Matinette's plan was so unrealistic brush.
While the charm shield moment with Damocles was epic in the moment, after giving it some thought, it comes off as a really poor scene, mostly because there was no buildup. The scene would’ve been WAY stronger if we actually saw Marinette try to find a counter to the Megakuma ever since it was introduced in Dearest Family, perhaps she and Alya could’ve searched through the ancient book to find a solution instead of Ladybug just handing out more. It could’ve even been the b-plot for a few episodes, letting us know that she was at least trying. Plus, with Gabe having most of the miraculous this season, it would’ve made a ton of sense for her to attempt to upgrade the charms as less akumatizations allows less opportunities to capitalize on his advantage. Now that they’ve introduced this concept of emotions increasing the charm’s protection, the writers better not drop the ball with it.
"It's actually getting me heated how inafficient school's are in the Miraculous world." bro, I wish you could see the American school system, you'd likely blow a gasket.
I know they are to fix things but Andre and Sabrina have done a lot of bad things and sometimes they really seem to enjoy what they do with other people, I don't know how to feel about this...
In Sabrina's defence it comes from a place of fear and overpowerment, if she doesn't do what she is told she jeopardises her only constant friendship but if she does then she is dismissed as an accomplice to the trouble. Her character finally got some development that she needed ages ago. She had very minimal development prior to Confrontation (only a little in Evillustrator, Darkblade, Anti-bug and Penalteam). She is a victim of being taken advantage of by others (kinda like her father) who were able to prey on her low self-esteem to satisfy their own means. What she accomplished in this episode alone was a very good and well rounded redemption arc when taking into account her position and the people she's been around. She sacrificed her only constant friendship with Chloe to stop the lives of other people from being ruined (even though the way that Chloe and Lila got that much power and responsibility over their peers is weird).
Honestly, this episode would already be bad enough, BUT THEN THERE'S THE WINDOW INTO THE GIRLS BATHROOM. WHICH JUST. ROCKETS THIS INTO *LIKELY TO BE BANNED* TERRITORY.
Let me clarify for you: Marinette gets a phone call from Sabrina informing her Chloe and Lila are forcing her to forge documents to fuck up everyone's futures. Marinette, being the rich crafty girl she is tells her how it's going to go down. They meet with Sabrina's father, the chief of police, to explain their plan. The girl's bathroom conveniently goes "out of order" and a temporary porta potty is installed. Marinette installs the mic, camera, 2 way mirror, and informs Sabrina. The mic, camera, and glass remain DORMANT! I'll repeat, remain DORMANT until the day of turning in the applications. Once the plan is in motion and Lila, Chloe, and Sabrina take off to the bathroom, Marinette activates the camera and mic. So yeah, while a morally gray plan, it was necessary as the alternative would mean everyone's lives would be screwed just because some assholes have it in for Marinette. This is why more reasonable and way more likely as opposed to Marinette staring at girls in the bathroom don't you think???
@@boomfanfic-a-latta8996 For Chloe maybe. Lila? Nah, she's too smart and would've never fell for that. Besides, this is Miraculous ladybug. Convoluted plans always reign supreme 🤣

Gabriel didn't black list her he just replace her and insulted her. If she has not reason to go after him that is to his advantage. they act like Lila is't famous, despite showing that she is famous like when she was talking to people on the bus.
Glad to see that Lila's true colour is finally reveal to everyone in School and apologise to Marinette for not believing her back in season 3 in the first place because she was the only person to see through Lila's lies. I'm also glad to see Sabrina has finally had enough of Chloe as she now knows that she was never really her friend in the first place since Chloe only used Sabrina for her selfish goal. Beside Sabrina deserved better and she also realise that she should have been friends with Marinette and the others because unlike Chloe they would never use someone to do their dirty work.
By the beard of Poseidon, Cyrus and Alloubel are going to have a field day with this and the next episode, specially with Chloe's character genocide by the writers.
10:18 for some reason they deleted the scene that was originally from the storyboard which is Alya Apologies to Marinette and everyone hugging her for some reason they delete it
The storyboards are always longer than the actual duration of an episode, so they have to cut some content It's probably why, but I still think it was a crucial scene and they should've saved time by cutting/altering something else

Actually, the French education kinda works like this. In the episode "Parcours +" is mentioned, that is a clear parody of Parcoursup, a platform where students send their forms and select 10 majors max. However, we only do this after the Terminale (High School, 17-18 years old) not this early in 3eme
Gotta be honest, when I first saw the trailer for this episode I thought that Juleka had gotten akumatized because she received a letter that said that something had happened to Luka while he was abroad And that the actual reason for her akuma was just her repeating the year felt a little disappointing I mean sure, repeating year unjustly sucks, but this is her *brother* Her *twin brother* who was forced to leave Paris to who knows where doing who knows what If that happened to me, of course I’d be worried sick constantly for him. And if I learned something had happened to him, I’d be devastated It would’ve made more sense and it would also serve for more Luka content even if he was forced to remain offscreen and would continue the plot point of him no longer being in Paris Because just because he can no longer be physically present in the series, doesn’t mean he can’t still be in the show in the form of a mention or something like that

Speaking on the French education system, this is in fact how they choose what high school to go to. In fact miraculous actually has a much more casual relationship between students and teachers than the norm in France. Their teachers have to approve the forms to see if their grades and behavior through out collége (6th-9th grade) is good enough for them to go to that school. Most high school however are still general with classes in every subject but sometimes there’s a student who wants a more specific education and goes to a trade school for example. At the end of grade 10 the student picks a specialization which is essentially like a university major and that dictates what they study for 11th and 12th grade
What kind of world do they live in? A world where the teachers and the principal looks the other way when a student relentlessly bullies other students terrifying them then punishes the victim instead of the bully, a world where they reelect a mayor who is compromised multiple times because of his daughter, a world where friends and bff's refuse to believe when a friend says another student is a compulsive liar and professional manipulator even with evidence from heroes day slapped them in the face but conveniently forget that fact, a world where the writers and drawers are not consistent with facts from previous episodes for example Adrien knew Ladybug saved his childhood friend Chloe in Origins 2 and in Lady WiFi Adrien thought Chloe might be Ladybug no wonder people think Adrien's light bulb is dim but he is smarter than most of them in Desperada he told Ladybug he tried to save her for months 25,915 times he has a memory like a steal trap who else could remember that?! The drawers can't even keep his bedroom and door entrance in the same place it's as if they are fighting over constructive design they need to take notes and be professional with the design and what is said and done and stop giving the characters whiplash when shaking their head like in Migration I thought Bob's head came loose from his spine. That's the world they live in Oh, also a world where they can tell who is behind an akumatized mask but not a heroes mask and distinctive voice, I knew Gabriel was Hawkmoth the first episode they'd shown Gabriel talking to Adrien.
In my most honest opinion, Lila's lies should have been done and done with by the season 3 episode 'Ladybug' where it's purpose had been defeated since she had lied about having a lying disease just to get Marinette out of expulsion__courtesy of Adrien's pressuring. I mean surely their whole class and probably the whole school would have heard about the little defect of Lila to avoid future problems right? Getting every other character dumbed down aside for the main protagonists isn't really a good quality any character especially an antagonist should be having since they would soon be promoted to main antagonist, and the fact that her lies had only began to click towards the end since her debut ain't a good thing either. They should have made her main from the start so that the pain of her classmates a.k.a her friends believing her over Marinette would be more bearable and probably better since they wouldn't have suspected her from the start. The principal and the staff are really incompetent and it only gets worse from here.
@@nicolas._.2294 How? The definition of a Mary sue is a character that (usually) has a tragic backstory and as a result, is seen as perfect or flawless. How the hell is Marinette flawless? She's LOADED with flaws! The difference between her and other characters is that she's self-aware of said flaws and tries to learn and grow from them. Lila IS a mary sue. Her "flaws" are seen as perfect. She never faces consequences and is rarely called out on her BS whereas Marinette constantly is. Please use Mary sue in the correct context next time.
Though I am kinda shocked that she just walked out like she didn't care at all and had no investment in the school, it was like she was only marginally interested for some vague other reason. so she didn't get angry she just left. Also they didn't record it did they ? So it's just like when other people saw Chloe do crummy things it's her word against their's and the class are nobodies so no one would care what they say and Adrien wouldn't say anything unless he thinks he's already lost it all. Also "if" Gabe actually dies couldn't Adrien just ask his Aunt to help him process emancipation paperwork and move back to Paris himself.
It's gotten to the point where I get the notification for these videos before I get the notification for the episodes themselves. So I use these videos to decide if I want to watch the episode.
I was educated by the french school system and yeah, it does work like that... You can ask to retake a year (but normally that's the decision of your parents at least at that age). I believe Marinette is in 3ème (9grade or 10 year). The only difficulty at that year is one exam at the end of the year ("Brevet"), to finish the obligatory education. She is ending her "collège" (middle school or junior high). Anyone from then on could potentially work if they want. If not, then the decision they have to do is to enter "lycée" or high school. I can't really talk for all the schools in France (lived aboard with limited access to all the possibilities), but the potential choice they're making is to have a special education related to their interest. My school was general, so that ramification came one year later. You could choose between three choices: S - Scientific, L - Literature or ES - Economy and Social studies. Said "specialties" were for two years and were not really definitive. You only would have more subjects related to said fields and always had the possibility to change. That choice would really mattered if you wanted to study something really specific. Universities would more likely accept your application if you came from a related background. (There's also a kind of hierarchy, like if you took S you still could apply and easily get to another unrelated field...) And yesss the class rep is the one who defend your interest but that is also the job of the main teacher, in the reunion at the end of every trimester. Class representative would talk to you personally the day after, to explain the main points of said reunion, and what other teachers said about your performance. The teacher would later talk to your parents other day, with or/and without you.
Also adding, the class representatives are kind of definitive after the election for the school year 😅 Also note that repeating one year is mostly done when you need better grades to choose a "filière" (S, L, ES). I've never seen other cases really...
Mike Wazowski: Well, I don't know about the rest of you guys but *I* spotted several big mistakes. Lila Rossi: But-but how did, I mean how did? Mike Wazowski: Y'know what let's watch my favourite part again, shall we? *Mike rewinds the recorded footage of Lila confessing the truth about her true nature* Lila Rossi: I had everyone believing that Marinette pushed me down the stairs, I had everyone believing that I was halfway around the world so I wouldn't have to go to school. And if I wanted to I could even convince your own father to put *YOU* in jail, and that's what's going to happen if you don't hand over that proof!
The episode was alright. Not good, not bad. I like the fact, that Lila and Chloe are finally exposed as liars and Sabrina also finally stood up for herself and not wanted to be the slave of Chloe anymore. But... what is it with the political system in this series? You can't tell me, the Mayor of Paris alone can decide, who to fire and who not. And in the real world, there must be someone higher ranked then him in the political system. So if i would be the Director of that school, my comment, everytime Chloe wants me to bow to her father, would be: "Alright. Go tell your Daddy, that you want him to fire me. But if he does that, without consulting his cabinet, i will go straight to his superiour and tell them, what you and your father do in this city. And unless you don't want me to do this, i suggest, you go back to your class and learn something useful. Oh and by the way... you get a warning in your school file. And now get the hell out of my office!"
7:22 - OMG exactly! How did they identify the right Reflekta? I guess, just like they identified the right Ikari Gozen in "Multiplication", or the right giant in "Transmission"... =___='
I actually rather enjoyed this episode and the last, even if there are flaws. The overall idea of framing Marinette for something so drastic - I guess it wasn't so believable in execution, but it was still a step up from Chloé's solo MO in any case... On top of last time, where Lila as Hoaxer was actually quite fun to see, especially in how she schemed against Gabriel too In any case... I've actually been mildly impressed by S5 in some ways. I really thought the reversed love square was going to be a long-term thing, but they actually (loosely) resolved the romantic tension. Even when it inevitably breaks apart, there's still that gratification of seeing Marinette and Adrien doing things together, at least for me. It's the sort of stuff I would usually like to see in S2 or S3 of a show, just a shame it took so long to get here...
Imagine the other girls just taking a shit in the port-a-potty and Marinette just catches that all on the mic 😂 or if someone pressed the button to make the mirror see-through and everybody saw you on the toilet. I'd be mortified 😱
Wow Ms bustier is even worst than before. In season 3 and 4, she listens to her students and punished Chloe. Now she let her torture Sabrina AND allows her to be the calss president even if the lady knows Chloe is a bad person? Ms bustier let her and lila stayed in school and fired the principal, that's so rude! This adult is a terrible teacher, she should be fired! Giving no punishment to bullies and let them fight the other students is really stupid. She has a girlfriend and is pregnant but i don't care. Her attitude is still illogic and unfair for all the nice students.
I really like your videos! I was just talking to my friend about how it is so hard to find people you can actually have constructive discussions about the Miraculous story with. Most people in the fandom either think it's perfect and have no flaws and dismiss any criticisms that you have about the story, or they think that it's the worst thing on Earth and exaggerate the flaws. I like how you talk about the show as it is - both the pros and cons of the writing, story and lore. As an autistic Miraculer who's been way too obsessed with this show for seven years yet my brain cells can tell the flaws as a future films student, I really enjoy it and wish that there were more people like you in the fandom
This show has become such a garbage pit for stupid retcons, idiotic and convenient logic, wasted plot lines, static characters, and main character syndrome. It is shocking how a show with so much potential and fan support managed to avoid giving fans any of what they asked for. This childish show is still structuring every episode around an attack. Takes up half of the episode to even set that up. Maybe it would have time to actually DEVELOP characters, relationships, and dynamics if it allowed itself to have episodes where less physical action was happening. But, of course, nobody tells Asstruck what to do. Honestly, who cares what happens to Marinette or Adrien anymore? They’re already together (and in such a stupid and rushed way too). Felix has been forgiven and allowed to keep the Miraculous despite what he did. The whole Sentimonster plot was set up and then chucked to the wayside, as was the Guardians plot. Su-Han did nothing and then ran for the hills. Alya is barely relevant despite knowing Marinette’s identity. Ditto with Luka. They’re no closer to defeating Monarch (the Challenge Rings are bullshit). And no compelling antagonist even exists anymore because they’re never allowed to even be the slightest bit likable or understandable. This show effing sucks. Where did Marinette’s fashion interests go? Where did her interests in reading the Grimoire and learning about the Miraculous go? Where did Adrien’s desire for freedom and acting go? Where did Nino’s music interest go? Where did the great dynamic between Chat Noir and Ladybug go? Why don’t they get to spend any time with each other outside of battle anymore? Each and every character in this show either went from developing to regressing, or they were never much to begin with. The writers of this show have either become tired or lazy; they don’t seem to care about making this show realistic or properly written or even sensical at all anymore. Even the few triumphant or funny moments can’t make me like it anymore. The Fanfictions are soooo much better.

I just realize that. Isn't Ladybug the creator of magical charms? How did she don't know this ability(shiled)? How did she don't know the thing she create? Did she give that ability accidentaly? Because as far as I know magical charms is not an ability on their own. If it is, it's make sense. It explain why she didn't know everything about this magical charms. Also Ladybug miraculous is feel like created for anti butterfly and peacock mriaculous. Defeat them if they us their ability for evil purposes. Because in "Dearest family" Plagg explain that Cat miraculous is created for solve for problems caused by holder of the ladybug miraculous cause. Maybe Ladybug miraculous is created for solve problem caused by holder of butterfly and peacock miraculous holder. So it make sense that she have specified abilities about akumas and feathers. And also it explain why she didn't create over powered weapons. Because she basically don't have power of create everything. Only has the ability of creating magical charms. It's just a theory.

1:40 : I'm french, our school system is like this. I don't know what else to say, but yes, they do expect us to know what to do as adults at 13-14 y.o (it's almost never the case, we don't know). At 14 I "wanted" to be a teacher because my mom said I would be good at it, teachers said I should pursue studies in the language field as I was the best student from my year and I wanted to get more money than my mom so I could help her as an adult. It wasn't about what I wanted, because I was a kid, and I ended up following for years this path thinking it was my choice when it has been what others wanted from me since then all along. Really, asking young teens what they want to do, pressuring them to know right now, to choose right now... I think it's not a good idea, and I was one of the people this system did hurt (not that bad next to some other students, but still, I lost years in a field people told me to follow as a teen because that what I thought I should do, not understanding that I should have always thought about what I wanted, even if the answer was "I don't know for now, I need to experiment much more things before") The reality isn't as drastic as in Miraculous Ladybug, like... reorientation is a thing, and there are studies you can do without closing to much doors for yourself if you're not sure. But it's still very close, and even in highschool you're expected to narrow down once again what you want to really study even though you're 15-16. It's a tad bit more dramatic than reality, but it's actually still close.
10:32 I tilted when you said « the federal government » talking about France. Appart for that I agree with everything you say about the episode. Good job :)
Fun fact: in a deleted scene in this episode, when lila and chloe are exposed, alya apologises to marinette and hugs her. I really wish this was kept in cause tbh she's been a lila defender since day 1 even though she's been tormenting her best friend

Oh, I my country it's the same
My country has a similar system with the graduation from middle school to high school.
Did ms.Bustie ever had that baby yet or is it still baking?

Especially with he hitting on Adrian
Lila is one of those characters that should have been a one and done antagonist, her constant involvement in the plot actively ruins the series, because in order to make her work you HAVE to make the rest of the characters morons with no long term memory in order for her to get away with lying time after time after time again. i'm happy she seems to be.... leaving the series for a good time as almost episode she has been a main part of has been some of the worst content in the series. Good riddance to bad, poorly written rubbish i say!
Couldn't agree more!! 👏 👏
and her becoming the next Gabriel just doesn't seem right.. it's so forced
Only way I can think of making her work as is would be if she was really a senti monster or something, who's power is to make everyone nearby dumber.

@@brien. if something had to be cut for time they could cut the boiler room part
apparently Thomas had no idea it was cut.
Not only is Lila a Villain Sue, I think she has one of those medical conditions where she looks like a teen but is really an adult.
Spoilers…
You know I should feel glad that Lila’s been exposed and the class are apologizing to Marinette. But it’s just too little too late.
Yep that basically this whole season, too little to late
Marinette shouldn't forgive them very easily
@@epicmike2055 they are trying to rap up all the plot points from the start of the show season 5 is also the final season with Gabriel as the villain season 6 is a a new start with a new villain and everything happing with Lyla is leading up to season 6
Oh yes, that's true, and Ivan doesn't want to be a stay AT home dad ("père au foyer") but a "auxiliaire petite enfance".
Thanks for clarifying that, reading that she wanted to be a mortician took me by surprise ngl
Andre was supposed to publically divorce Audrey and adopt Zoe this episode. So much good stuff was cut out 😭😭
It's probably just an ego thing for Audrey. It'd be shameful for a person of her stature to have her daughter be expelled from a public school.
If she really is much older, that would make her debut episode much creepier, since she spent the majority on it flirting with Adrien, who is fourteen
I hope that isn't true because that would ne disgusting
She has 3 mothers that don't know about each other, I I starting to think you are right
I feel like this episode (and the next one as well) has a lot of concept vs execution problems.
It’s utterly ridiculous you could say.
Everyone in Marinette class just catches the smooth brain virus whenever Lila is in the room.
They're high as shit if they're that stupid.
I heard that at Mangafest in Spain, Thomas Astruc said that Chloé and Sabrina's relationship would improve notably in the future. But I found that hard to believe, especially after seeing this episode I really don't think that's ever gonna happen.
Tommy Astruc is a good ideas man (or at least a good concept man) but he doesn't belong in a writer's room.
These kids didn't even plan they life out yet, and all of a sudden they want long lasting relationship FOH
Maybe that was just his way of responding to the backlash he got for trashing Chloes character arc and replacing her with a mary sue
You know by lying
Maybe he meant that this is technically an improvement over what they used to have.
Thomas Astruc has gone back on his promises so many times though so likeee
The plot conveniences in this episode are on a whole other level.
One thing that was a bit disappointed about this episode was there was a scene in the leaked version where alya appologise to Marinette for not believing her which was a bit weird but apparently they just decided to remove that bit.
Is it weird that I think “Lila” looks cuter with shorter hair?

My new headcanon is that "Lila" is 16 or 17, she just looked more mature with her actual haircut,
I believe this is why she is so condescending and self-assured as well as the reason she has so much autonomy compared to how much the other students have to answer to their parents.
"Lila" being a young adult con artist who still looks like a young teen and likes controlling and manipulating others because she can would make so much more sense. But sense has no place in this show.
@@creativerealms it’s kinda like actresses who look young and are rly short that act as teenagers in movies. For example Sadie Sink in stranger things she’s in her 20s playing I think a 15 yo (I forget how old max is)
So “Lila” might as well be like those actresses. But like it’d be major creepy cuz she flirted with Adrien
Marinette crossed a line and no one criticises her for it cus, plot armor
also: Chloe needs help! someone help her!
Mary sue power, some Lore Olympus kore type nonsense
Wouldn’t have been as idiotically dramatic, so the writers of Miraculous would never have done that. Also, it’s realistic, and the writers HATE realistic.

Actually Markov may very well be the true villain as quantum masking can only confuse human minds (special new york) so Markov might just be waiting for the right moment to get the miraculous for himself. And. He even went against Hawk moth.

This was the most satisfying episode. Sure, the writing was filled with plot holes, and that school is genuinely stupid, but it was very satisfying. Seeing Lila and Chloe both defeated was just awesome. Really wish more episodes were written like this.
Lila isn't defeated yet though. She's got a lot more in store
@@kainightshade5033 yep and she is also important in season 6 with season 5 being the end of Gabriel as the villain
I would aim to go to different high school if I were Marinette, and then find new friends.

Gabriel didn't black list her he just replace her and insulted her. If she has not reason to go after him that is to his advantage. they act like Lila is't famous, despite showing that she is famous like when she was talking to people on the bus.
Having teenagers read and judge the personal writing of their classmates feels like an invasion of privacy

However, we only do this after the Terminale (High School, 17-18 years old) not this early in 3eme
Gotta be honest, when I first saw the trailer for this episode I thought that Juleka had gotten akumatized because she received a letter that said that something had happened to Luka while he was abroad

That's the world they live in
Oh, also a world where they can tell who is behind an akumatized mask but not a heroes mask and distinctive voice, I knew Gabriel was Hawkmoth the first episode they'd shown Gabriel talking to Adrien.
Well the woman in Hawkmoth's locket is the same one on the dining room wall so that kinda gave it away too.

(There's also a kind of hierarchy, like if you took S you still could apply and easily get to another unrelated field...)
And yesss the class rep is the one who defend your interest but that is also the job of the main teacher, in the reunion at the end of every trimester.
Class representative would talk to you personally the day after, to explain the main points of said reunion, and what other teachers said about your performance.
The teacher would later talk to your parents other day, with or/and without you.
Also adding, the class representatives are kind of definitive after the election for the school year 😅
Also note that repeating one year is mostly done when you need better grades to choose a "filière" (S, L, ES).
At this point I don’t care if the writing is bad but I’m glad is moving forward 🤷♂️
The writing might improve now that the truth about Lyla is out as well
That is actually how French school system works 😢
I think marinette would be likely forgoven given the fact lila threwten to expel multiple students. In mari's case multiple times.
Out of all of the students, I can't believe alya doesn't rsje her best friends side even after finding out she's ladybug
I actually rather enjoyed this episode and the last, even if there are flaws. The overall idea of framing Marinette for something so drastic - I guess it wasn't so believable in execution, but it was still a step up from Chloé's solo MO in any case... On top of last time, where Lila as Hoaxer was actually quite fun to see, especially in how she schemed against Gabriel too
In any case...
Yeah but 6:04 wasn't for the teachers to read, it was for making Chloe and Lila jealous for later
"Surely this isn't how the french education system works" as a french, unfortunately that is accurate
Agreed
I feel like at this point, the entertainment value of this show is "How much more can Astruc screw this up?"
10:09 Like marrinette isnt already a total creep
She's a kid..💀
@@mladybug6620 Congratulations what do you want to win with this statement.
@@mladybug6620 So what? 14 year-olds know the implications of putting a secret MICROPHONE in a bathroom AND changing the mirror to one you could see through at any moment. It's weird asf. Just that
@@Ligytdr Kids don't think before they do something, she was under pressure too,and she exposed Lila so.
@GalaxiaPLAYZ Nah i rather stay defending her from shitheads like you pookie..😘
let people have hopes and dreams. let people be themself. rich people are diverse, there not all the same. love is not pathetic. the tiger is julika’s power. again let people have individuality. it’s for a good cause. yet again let people have individuality.
Well Chloe and Lila just get their in trouble and they have to pay the price
With the amount of magical elements in this show it honestly wouldn't surprise me if dragons and unicorns existed.
@Blitz Vibesz that's right
In the french education system are after middle school, I think, three different high schools with different graduations. And I am pretty sure that the students can choose their high school for themselfes.
0:29 Me: Hey, School, I'm feeling a bit lost. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
School: Is that my problem?
Me: Well, it might be if I end up becoming a professional procrastinator.
Thank you, education system.
If you look close, ladybug head did a 360 when she captured the akuma.
They dropped two episodes back to back IN ORDER surprisingly
This episode is so disappointing , i wanted more from that lila being exposed! Like her own mom gearing this and plus the idiot teachers who let this happen FIRED😡. I mean fanfics do a much better job at this then the writers and the creator of this show!
Apparently Lila's family situation is a lot more complicated than we know and it feels super sinister.
I don’t think her mom is even her real mom the show even has episodes with different moms
Wait wich one of her mom? She has 3
@@nicolas._.2294 what if her real mom passed away and all 3 are fake
Ok, everyone already said every single flaw and bullshit of this episode and the series as a whole so let me say one thing no one seems to be talking about...
POOR JULEKA MAN.
Well, everyone else's lives are also ruined but her's was just so fucking personal! They all know she repeated a grade already, why the fuck would anyone want to do that again?! That's way worse compared to everyone elses!
Who i their right mind thinks "well if it's what she wants!" Did no one consider to confront her or her parent?! This just makes my blood boil.
I think it's not a good idea, and I was one of the people this system did hurt (not that bad next to some other students, but still, I lost years in a field people told me to follow as a teen because that what I thought I should do, not understanding that I should have always thought about what I wanted, even if the answer was "I don't know for now, I need to experiment much more things before")
The reality isn't as drastic as in Miraculous Ladybug, like... reorientation is a thing, and there are studies you can do without closing to much doors for yourself if you're not sure. But it's still very close, and even in highschool you're expected to narrow down once again what you want to really study even though you're 15-16. It's a tad bit more dramatic than reality, but it's actually still close.
To be fair i'm french and thats how exactly the school system works, it's really stressful because you might get rejected
10:32 I tilted when you said « the federal government » talking about France. Appart for that I agree with everything you say about the episode. Good job :)
Hey, Chloe may have not gotten character development, but Sabrina sure as hell needed it, and to push away Chloe. Glad to see that at least.
