    These are easy things you should take care of when building a structure in Minecraft.
    I'm not a huge fan of simple tutorials. So I decided that it is much better for people to rather hear what I'm taking care of while building, than just to know how a specific structure is built.
    I hope you agree and that this will help you ;)
    Summarized steps:
    1. Find a style and stick to it.
    2. When dealing with big surfaces use a) decoration or b) structure to make the whole thing look less boring.
    3. Play WITH the landscape, not against it.
    4. Use different kinds of materials and slightly change the forms of buildings.
    5. Use different roof designs.

      Hehe, well let's say for back in the day my advice was pretty okay. For nowadays standards this video is pretty sh*t xD

    @Madnes64 The reason I think your structures look so good is the fact that the now have texture to them. It's not just one bland flat color or idea. Great video.

    i just thought i'd say, i am in the middle of building a mainly wooden mansion in my minecraft world, and having watched this video, i have picked up so many useful tips - my buildings will never be bland again, cheers Madnes64 :)

    Man I remember watching this video as a ten year old and religiously taking notes. Now I'm a little older and I'm an infinitely better builder than madnes is in this video. Kind of funny to see how your style improves when you see what good building looks like. Now I kind of think of this video as a joke because everything in it is so ugly, but it helped me back in the day.

    very impressive i must say we think alike, im always getting asked how can you make everything look so modern. Really its just the approuch you take on a structure itself and the way you think, but your video does explain it beautifully very achitectual.

  • @MegaUchihaSaske
    @MegaUchihaSaske 10 лет назад +1

    thanks for this tutorial it really helped me a lot, though i was searching for a modern town design i found a better thing. Just one thing : you could add more colours and more materials, idk maybe that's my style , but it'd look really great if you play with the lndskape and colours at the same time

    It was indeed helpful. I never really cared much about exterior buildings, because I prefer an Mountain Fortress (a giant pillar-like mountain,with a staircase down the centre, and rooms out here and there).
    But with that, I think I can build some nice houses.

  • @Quokomoyo
    @Quokomoyo 12 лет назад

    this really helped cause i'm a VERY creative person and i build almost all the time, but my creations always have too little of that little trim, or then too much of it, and that makes all my creations look like crap, but this video taught me how to use it just the right amount, and what it should be. thanks!

    No Madnes could or could not be better than Jamziboy it depends which style you prefer. Madnes uses default, where as with Jamziboy he has to use a texturepack.
    I love them both so it's no competition for me really. :)

    Everyone likes different builders. no one is the god of building. just let people like who they like, don't say look whoever up. just let them like who they want to like. i think Madnes is great at medieval building because his buildings are unique. but i also love Medieval.

    skyrim came out After he built the city. it came out Nov. 2011 hes been building for a good while before that. you could say hes inspired by Elder Scrolls, but Elder Scrolls is inspired by reality so in the end hes not copying anyone. hes just making what he feels is appealing and semi realistic.

    So questions. Obviously you've spent a lot of time on your structures/towns (Just take 5:00 for example) but with how that landscape was, did you just find a spot from the original world layout or did you just shape the land around your town? and how long does it take you to build such a thing? do you plan it all before hand or roll with it as you go?
