I purchased the same cabinet, but white and also added the marble, it looks great. Thanks for this tip, the cabinet definitely needed something and the marble/quartz definitely added some pizazz

I love it! We homeschooled as well, so I know the importance of having a space for all the supplies BEHIND closed doors. The marble addition definitely added so much character to the piece.

Wish my brain had an ounce of your brilliance. NEVER would I have come up with that! Your creativity is LIMITLESS. Love the homage to Highclere Castle. In fact:

Great hack! May I ask how you attached the marble and how it’s secured to the wall?

This looks great! We're doing the white version with ikea's karlby white oak type counter.
Did you do any extra securing with the upper or lower cabinets?
They come with a hole in the backboard, which are spaced so I'd have to go through drywall instead of a stud. I'm a bit worried about that from a childproof standpoint, though the backing is thicker than I've seen on other ikea stuff.
    Thanks!

I loved this video and wanted to do this for our Homeschool room. I just went to Ikea and was turned off because theirs were all chipped up horribly. I know their displays and get abused, but I wanted to ask how urs have held up if u don't mind sharing. They aren't cheap so would love some piece of mind before buying.

HI! Oh, I know what you mean. I don't know how IKEA sells stuff because their displays can look so bad! I've had them for a year now, and my kids have actually not been very gentle on them. I am thrilled that they still look amazing. Hopefully that will continue to be the case, but I actually feel like they are great quality. Thinking about more for my next office space!
