Your Dad is a gift! I know I don’t have to tell you not everyone has any person in their lives such as your Father. This whole thing was accomplished as a team and you are both so fortunate in one another! He must be VERY proud of you, his LOVE is obvious 😊😊! Im a new follower. 72 year young Memere here-It’s BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful comment and for watching! I'm so grateful for him and hope these lessons help someone out there who might not be as lucky to have someone like him as a father figure ❤️ Sending you loads of love! So happy to have you xo
Watching you with your dad makes me so happy. My father was like yours; he could build and do anything. I miss him so much. Cherish every minute with him.
Aw thank you so much for writing this darling. I'm so sorry you're missing him. He sounds like he was an incredible person and an amazing father. Sending you so much love
Watching you and your dad makes me miss mine soooooo much. He was so helpful like your dad and I miss him terribly. Treasure your special moments together! ❤
Love it !! & Thank goodness for "Dads" !!! My Dad built our home with a little help from us. But, he has been gone now for 25 years. He was actually in his mid 70s and also building their retirment home at the same time!!
I’m loving the father and daughter situation! Reminds me of my dad, he always comes to my help when I need it, and he’s so knowledgeable, just like your dad! So, here’s cheers to all fathers out there… We love you!
Oh this makes me miss my dad yours is lovely, I lost him suddenly 5 years ago when I was 30. Get as much footage as you can with him, I didn't realise until after there's nothing in the world with his voice on it ❤
Nice you show the problems and details that emerge during the process. It gives a more realistic perspective. The shopping is an essential part also. Nice work.
In time, you will look at this project and have awesome memories doing this build-in with your dad. Throughout the years, I’ve learned a lot from my dad (how to paint, tile, and build) while growing up and when returning home due to my mom’s bad health (sadly, she has since passed away) I had done with my dad (he’s now 89)and now I know things & pass down the knowledge I’ve learned from dad to my children. As I’m disabled, I talk and review with my children as to begin and complete their project(s). My children understand how to build items and are very creative (like I was taught by my dad, their grandfather)…these are the BEST MEMORIES!!!!!! !! You guys did an AWESOME JOB with your build-in project.
Aw you're so right 🥰🥹 I honestly already feel so much of this ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing so much of your story love I really appreciate it. And I'm so sorry for your loss with your Mom. Sending you loads of love and so happy you've been able to learn and pass these things on too ❤️
I was just telling my husband I want to do this in our living room. I absolutely love this. You are so adorable, creative and detailed. I love how you explained everything without being boring lol. You definitely make me feel like I can tackle this project. I’m so excited to try. I’m super excited to see all your other projects. I’m definitely a new subscriber 😃
Stunning room 🤩. Very sleek, elegant, and romantic. France comes to mind. Your Dad is wonderful. And you are a very sweet daughter. It’s also so special how you support your friends’ channels. Just love your sense of style, energy, & warmth 🌸.
Hi Amanda, Great to meet you i also live in Ontario, I clicked on your video by mistake but the energy you give in your video drew me in. I love what you have done in your bedroom it looks fantastic. I too have done built in in the past and i have done many more things as well, tiling, plumbing, electrical i have sanded down hardwood floors and refinished them and replace cabinetry and built my own book cases and i have built horse stalls and cleaned a barn that hadn't had animals in for over 20 years and everything was still left there when we moved in in October of 2023 and i mean everything Shavings hay and all the recycled material you could imagine, yep that!. As a woman myself, i have always pushed back when they say women can't do this kind of thing, when really we are just as capable as any man who can do the same thing. If taught correctly how things are done we can accomplish anything we set our hearts and minds to do and do it just as well as anyone else out there. Ikea is an amazing store and i could spend days in there looking around and find something i want to buy, but i have animals now and getting some more in the spring and i have to fix up this old barn to make better use of the barn. We need more women doing this kind of thing its inspiring and its fun too to create something yourself and it matches the vision in your head is an amazing feeling. I have subscribed to your channel and i would love to see more of your channel in the near future. God bless you for your inspiration and enthusiasm too, its electric for sure. love the light fixtures too amazing choice and very glamorous too.
Oh my goodness Tracy this made my week! Thank you for putting so much love and thought into this comment. Truly so kind of you and I loved hearing a bit about your story as well! ❤️ So grateful to have people like you find and join my cozy little nook of the internet! Best wishes
Love the transformation of your room and the chandelier is soooo gorgeous! Your dad has been a gem helping you with your project transformation. Well done!👍🏾🥰
Hi thanks for watching and for the comment 🤍 Part of sharing these DIY videos with my Dad, is my hope that his wisdom might help someone who doesn’t have a father figure or craftsperson in their life 🤍
Oh the plastic finger thing is brilliant, I filled a house a whole house plus repaired plaster wedding cake clings and it all was by bare finger tip. Gruelling. Thanks
Great job!! Dads are the best! As for art, seek out a local artist (or me) to get just what you prefer, to have something original, and to help a fellow creative!! So many people go the route of cheap mass produced work when a local artist's work is so much more meaningful. I'm an artist and I have been getting more and more commissions over the last few years because people want that person touch and unique work. Good luck!
Yes!! This is exactly what we want! Something that means something to us. Didn't find something at the big box store because nothing had soul. Definitely on the hunt for artwork with a little magic and heart 🥰
Wow you look so beautiful and tomboyish in those overalls! ☺️ your a hardworking DIY worker in them! 😊 you did an amazing job on this IKEA Build! Your a true hardworker in those overalls! ☺️ great job on this video! 😊
Excellent effort. As someone who designs millwork you need 2-3” filler on the ends of the cabinets to move them away from the walls, looks more intentional and expensive, especially behind the curtains, even a 4-6” filler or drapery recess. Also. I would have done cord management and hid the cord next the right cabinet inside the cabinet. Lastly, that crown is so ornate. A large simple cove on top of a fascia, touching the ceiling would make a better statement. You guys a cute though.
I LOVE Canadian content !! I knew you were Canadian because your comment about ,Rona. Truly Canadian. Live your content too. Love &Blessings from Nova Scotia, Canada 🇨🇦 xo
SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU HERE!!! I loveee having fellow Canadians apart of this cozy nook of the internet 🥹🥰 Plus bonus points for being from the east coast haha! Everyone I've ever met from the East is just the most wonderful, warm kind of person❤️ Thanks for watching!
This is great, thank you! I loved watching you and your dad, and thank you for explaining along the way. I may have missed it, but can you describe how you mounted or secured the bookshelves and cabinets to the wall?
Hi love! The one I have is too tall but I know there are really beautiful half sized ones that would work perfect! (Like this one from Structube: bit.ly/3IdBJBZ)
Amanda, This is the first video of yours I have watched. Love, Love, Love it!!! For a great piece of artwork to enjoy above the fireplace, might I suggest Michael Fratrich's Ten One Gallery in Lamberville, New Jersey. My son treated me to a weekend there last Autumn. We chatted with Michael - this is truly one of my very favorite galleries. His art is so calming and just lovely. Hope you can take a look. Carry on!!!!
Oh so grateful RUclips brought you to this cozy nook of the internet! I will be sure to check out that gallery. Sounds absolutely perfect 🥰 Thanks for the recommendation!
Amanda could you put the name of your friend Emma's channel. I absolutely loved this bookcase build. You and your dad's relationship that we see is so adorable. ❤ It tfs
My wife and I got so motivated from your video that we decided to make this built-in ourselves😊 How did you attach the Billy-bookshelf to the Havstad unit? We also need to cut the Billy-bookshelf😊 Would really appreciate some advice!
Oh my gosh that's so exciting! I'm thrilled to hear you're going to take this on. We secured the Billy to the wall and I just used Alex Plus DAP to fill in the connection between the BILLY and the HAVSTA. It creates a seal and doesn't move. And then to cut the BILLY definitely use that tape trick so it doesn't split 👍🏼 You've got this!
Amanda, check out Fusion paint. It’s acrylic resin paint from Canada. It has primer and top coat in it. Check them out. Great colors and the paint is marvelous. For future projects. Great job my dear.
Definitely! Couldn't have done it without him and so grateful to learn along the way 🥰 Because we secured both units to the wall I really only had to Dap them in together. But it's always an option to add a bracket just like we did to the top!
Wow! Amazing, I think I will subscribe while I am here!! Yep just subscribed. You and your dad is quite the team! Awesome! Cots. Finger cots to keep your skin/nails and all delightful!
So I love it you’re definitely a DIY beginner with as much as dad has done in this room and that’s OK I’m not a beginner but I’m not a professional either so I’m just the slightest bit jealous because dad is helping only because my dad was still alive. lol he would be helping to, but it’s looking good I’m awaiting the change of the light😊
Aw I'm so happy to have you here! I LOVEEEE the UK! Went to London for the first time last year and it was one of the best trips ever! ❤️ Thanks for joining this cozy nook of the internet!
Aw thank you so much! I searched for sooo long for a warm white like this. It's called "Westhighland White" by Sherwin Williams. When the afternoon light floods in our bedroom it's absolute magic! ✨🤍
Hi, the link for the fireplace just takes me to Wayfair home page. Do you happen to know your brand/make? I want to get one, and it’s helpful knowing you’ve had it a long time and are still happy with it. Thanks!
Hi Barbara! Great catch thanks so much for flagging that 🥰 So this one is the updated version of the one we've had for years (bit.ly/3u9pWl7) Let me know if that link works. We've had it so long that I even painted it through this process. Hope that helps!
You are so cute and the video was really good. wish you wouldn't look into your view finder when you are using your mirror, so much more engaging when you are looking at us and not at the view finder. Also thought your Dad was really sweet and had good advice. Defiantly want to come back and see more of your projects.
Thanks so much for watching! The view finder thing is definitely something I'm going to work on this year haha it's so hard to know where is best so appreciate the feedback 🥰 Can't wait for our next project!

Oh the plastic finger thing is brilliant, I filled a house a whole house plus repaired plaster wedding cake clings and it all was by bare finger tip. Gruelling. Thanks
Oh wow that would have been a lot!! Well done for all that work! ❤️ So happy it helped!

Just watching 1st time today beautiful job it looks very elegant , you & your Dad are a great team ....Thank You
Aw thank you so much Patricia ❤️ I am so grateful to have a Dad like him 🥹❤️
The shelves and unit separated from the fireplace is excellent.
Thank you! We love that fireplace so much! It's travelled with us from home to home!
I have the same crystal chandelier in my living room but in seven layers with three different tones of light. White. Yellow and vintage warm.
Your dad should have his own DIY channell!!!
Agreed!
Alot of outfit changes & hand & hair flips lol but like how simple it turned out♡
Though it looked like it was a straight week this Reno actually took place over months so naturally there were outfit changes 😂 Thanks!
Yeah I had to fast forward through the outfit talk and all of the talking in the mirror. The project turned out great…your dad did an amazing job!
Excellent effort. This is great, thank you! I loved watching you and your dad, and thank you for explaining along the way.
I may have missed it, but can you describe how you mounted or secured the bookshelves and cabinets to the wall?
I want that BeautiFULL gold framed mirror on the mantle 😊.. is it too tall?
Great video, great Work, great Dad✨️💖✨️ Congratulations & Blessings ✌🏼💙✊🏼
Hi love! The one I have is too tall but I know there are really beautiful half sized ones that would work perfect! (Like this one from Structube: bit.ly/3IdBJBZ)
An ornate oval mirror will be perfect above the fireplace ❤
Your skills are so impressive! 👏👏
Amanda, This is the first video of yours I have watched. Love, Love, Love it!!! Oh so grateful RUclips brought you to this cozy nook of the internet! I will be sure to check out that gallery. Sounds absolutely perfect 🥰 Thanks for the recommendation!
This is very impressive! I love it.
Amanda could you put the name of your friend Emma's channel. I absolutely loved this bookcase build. You and your dad's relationship that we see is so adorable. ❤ It tfs
Thank you so much for the reminder I knew I forgot something 🥰 Just popped her Instagram and RUclips in the description! You'll love Emma!
Ps. I truly won the lottery having a Dad like mine ❤️
Great shout! Thanks so much for the tip 🥰
Loved what you did
You gave me an excellent idea!
So happy to hear!!
Fantastic!
A very great one, Amanda!❤❤
Looks great and so helpful to have such a handy helper!! Wondering how you secured the billy to the base? Thank you!
Definitely! Couldn't have done it without him and so grateful to learn along the way 🥰 Because we secured both units to the wall I really only had to Dap them in together. But it's always an option to add a bracket just like we did to the top!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much! 🥰🥰
Wow! Amazing, I think I will subscribe while I am here!! Yep just subscribed. You and your dad is quite the team! Awesome! Cots. Finger cots to keep your skin/nails and all delightful!
Aw so happy to have you here!! Thanks for joining this cozy little nook of the internet 🥰🥰
Looks awesome!!
Thank you so much Kathy!!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much Suzy! So pleased with how it turned out 🥰
Whenever needed IKEA will help you load wagons and your vehicle. Is the nail polish Mila? What is the color, looks like a part of their holiday set.
We are using 36" wall kitchen cabinets we got at an Auction, putting small feet on it to use as a base, then bookshelves
Oh that's going to be amazing!!
This is absolutely stunning! Where did you purchase the trim above bookcase from? It.s beautiful!
Aw thank you!! I bought it from RONA 🥰 it's a polyurethane trim
Thank you for the idea of having a fake fire place. And how you put the bookshelves
My pleasure! It was a game changer for us getting the electric fireplace 🥰 Thanks for watching!
Hi, I'm a new subscriber I'm from the UK.That looks amazing. Xx
Aw I'm so happy to have you here! I LOVEEEE the UK! Went to London for the first time last year and it was one of the best trips ever! ❤️ Thanks for joining this cozy nook of the internet!

Love it all.
Aw thank you so much for watching!
Love this video and your Dad. What breed is your puppy?
Thanks so much for watching! Rosie girl is a mini golden doodle (an F1B) 🥰🥰
How did you connect the Billy bookcase with the Havsta cabinet? Wood glue?
Great job!.what kind of selling do you have in your room? It is so beautiful.
Thank you so much! I'm not sure actually it was like that when we bought them home 🥰
Why not flip it and use the kick plate for the crown box?
Looks amazing Amanda absolutely gorgeous ❤ love watching your vlog ❤🎉
Thank you so much for watching!! ❤️❤️
So nice! How much the cost for everything ?
Amazing
Thank you!!
I have the same Havsta bookcases and need to put the gold door locks on like you have! Can you provide a link?
Oh lovely! Yes absolutely 🥰 bit.ly/3vWMTZ7
Great transformation but what kind of multi tool is your Dad using as I have a Dremel and it vibrates terribly and I can't get a straight cut.
I'm going to see him tomorrow I'll ask! 🥰🥰
The crown molding should go all around the room, it will complete the room.
Definitely an option! I just wanted it around this builtin for this one 🥰 Just a personal choice
Good thing your dad is a pilot! What do us who don't have a pilot to help us do?
What color are your walls? Its so light and calming!
Aw thank you so much! I searched for sooo long for a warm white like this. It's called "Westhighland White" by Sherwin Williams. When the afternoon light floods in our bedroom it's absolute magic! ✨🤍
I swear, Amanda, like me, you act like you were gifted the very last daddy on the planet, and I LOVE it! Us girls and our daddies. 😂🩷
Hahah it's true 🥹 So grateful for him! Love that you have that relationship too!
Love this! Where did you get the fireplace ? ( btw, new subscriber )
Hi! So happy to have you here! It's from Wayfair and I've put the link in the description box 🥰 We've had it for over 5 years and we still love it!
@@AmandaWeldonyour description box is not showing. We only see your transcription . TY
What will you do when you want new carpet? Can you easily dismantle the built-ins and remove the carpet underneath them?
It would just be cut! And then the new carpet would go up against the builtin ☺️
@@AmandaWeldon perfect! This is actually one I was considering.
Thank you so much! Just discovered you, and I’m subscribing.
P.S. your hair is fabulous ❤
Aw thank you Ann!
