Where can I learn more about IFR navigation? VORs, Radials, etc., like you talk about in this video?

There are a lot of ways to learn about using instruments. Maybe the easiest is to pick up the "On Instruments" add-on to FSX... you can buy it on Steam for $20. It comes with charts, pretty detailed PDFs containing explanations of how to fly the various procedures, and let's you test what you've learned in-game with a Cessna 172. It's a bit dry, but not too bad. Probably good for 20 hours of careful learning. Good luck!

How do you “pop up” the trim like you did?

      Ian:
There are two ways. The first (and not as good) way is to use the numpad: 1 for "up" and 7 for "down". The better way to go is assign it to a key on your joystick. On your main FSX window, go to settings, controls, buttons/keys, and scroll down to Elevator Trim. Set left and right trim to two buttons by double clicking on the joystick column entry and then clicking the button on your joystick. You can assign aileron trim buttons there also, important, but not as important as the elevator trim. But helpful!
I think setting elevator trip on your joystick is the most important thing you can do in setting yourself up... in both the simulator and real airplanes you use pitch trim constantly to relieve pressure on the yoke. As you may know, it's easier in a real airplane, as you typically have a roller wheel or an electric trim button that allows you to do fine grained adjustments to trim... in FSX and X-plane 11 it's harder to hit trim "right on".
      Hope that helps!

One more suggestion: if you are doing anything other than straight or level flight, you should be adjusting elevator trim all the time to relieve yoke pressure. To illustrate the importance of elevator trim, try flying patterns at night out of an airfield near the ocean. It's REMARKABLY easy to over control if you don't have your trim set correctly. It's a bit shocking! Try Kalaupapa Airport in Molokai (LUP).

It would also be cool if you did a more condensed walkthrough, maybe cutting the playtime to 1/3? Just a suggestion.

Not a bad idea, a more advanced version for more advanced simmers? I may do that, and post a link here. Stay tuned!

This is done, please check this URL: ruclips.net/video/3U3PqIXNRaw/видео.html
video time is 42 minutes. It moves very fast, so decent FSX skills and some knowledge of the airplane are probably required. Good luck!
