I am a HUGE fan of this series Trevy! I am looking forward to some basic and advanced tactics videos. Like how to deploy correctly, what to do turn one, target priority, how to hide units and leap on objectives. Great work!
By far the best info I have gotten yet for starting out in warhammer. Tried to play a game the other night with a friend but we got to lost in the sauce to finish
Love that you did this. Super helpful for learning
Good lord these videos are a Godsend TYBG 🙏🏽
This Guy Gets It. Baller Bringin' FACTS. 🔥🤘😎👍🖤
Extremely helpful. Thank you 🙏
Thank you! Great video!
Very useful and clear! Excellent, thanks.
Glad it's helpful!
Nice video it will help , thanks.
Trevvy! I'm back for another piece of rules advice.
I dunno if you've read the new ork codex yet. Flash gitz can buy an ammo runt (I think he's called) for 5pts. This gives the bearer the ability to re roll their attacks when used. Is the whole unit considered the bearer or just one model? Its a bit ambiguous to me and a friend, I just let him re roll all of them and delete my unit, but I'd kinda like to know for next time.
I wish there was a pdf of the notes and charts he puts on these videos!!
Thanks. Please make a 'Playlist'.

I do have a question I don't believe is answered. If I have a tank model and it is engaged by enemy units, I can use all the weapons on it if the enemy unit isn't in line of sight of the weapon? As in if my model is facing north with a pintle mount on the front and I unit gets dropped south of me and gets within engagement range can I use the pintle mount to fire upon them or do I have to turn the model to face them?
Will u do a review of the thousand sons codex
22:51 can the exocrine fire at the chaplain if the Marines unit behind the wall had less than 3 models, for example 2. The rule book says chaplain has to be the closest unit but marines are still the closer unit despite containing 2 models ?
No; the 3 model minimum is for the unit within 3" of the character.
Once a unit of 3+ models is within 3", *any* unit (regardless of size, as long as it's not another character) blocks for the character.
Regarding Look Out Sir: if the closest enemy unit (the blocking unit) is in melee, does this still count (can I shoot the character if the enemy unit in melee is nearer and within 3 inches of him)?
Yes, it still counts
what about the impulsor assault vehicle ability. does that mean i can still move the transport and then disembark the units?
Yes
Hey Trevy, where in the book does it say units must arrive before round 3 ends??
I can only find the part where it says they must arrive before round 5 or they die.
GT2021, pregame step 10 (Declare Reserves and Transports)
"Any Strategic Reserve or Reinforcement unit that has not arrived on the battlefield by the end of the third battle round counts as having been destroyed, as do any units embarked within them (this does not apply to units that are placed into Strategic Reserves after the first battle round has started)."
Question about embarking. Can a squad of infantry move to a transport, jump in and the transport can then move? Or do you have to wait till after everything has moved then if your near a transport, you can jump in?
With aircraft. I play necrons. My doomscythe has supersonic. I know what it does but my question is do I "have" to pivot 90 degrees? Can I just move straight?
You can just move straight with the doom scythe, the turning is an optional thing, you are only allowed a maximum of a single 90 degree turn, and only before you actually mive
@@davidewing4046 ty. The wording on some of GWs rules can be very confusing sometimes.
@@eviljoshy3402 agreed man, I've done my fair share of googling trying to figure rules out haha
Question to Charge: If you have to Deepstrike/Reinforce more than 9" away from enemy Units, doesnt that mean you have to roll atleast a 10 to charge?
Units just have to get within 1" for the charge to be succeasful
So question would the Lictor or Ripper Swarms have to come in on turn 2-3 or could they turn one. And they can't be placed in the enemies department?
No models can be reserved in on turn 1, but the restriction on placing in enemy deployment zones only affects Strategic Reserves.
@@TacticalTortoise hopefully you'll see this but I had one more question Is the rule of 3 still in 9th and if so were can I find it.
ok so i have a moster that dose d3+3 damage what dose that mean?
Can you shoot an enemy unit through one of your own friendly units?
If the friendly unit blocks line of sight, no.
hi, where is this part coming from - "models with Fly ignore terrain ... (can move up terrain vertically for free)"? Natural interpretation of 'ignoring' is that you can move through something as if it weren't there. But if you land on top of something it's hardly ignoring isn't it (you might still be ignoring parts of other terrain you're moving through). The interpretation I was using is that you 1) move through all terrain as if it weren't there (like having breachable everywhere) 2) if a model ends up on a terrain you measure the actual distance traveled in straight line - this is on par with basic rules that no part of a model can move more than M characteristic.
It's not an interpretation; the Fly rule is literally:
"If a unit’s datasheet has the FLY keyword, then when it makes a Normal Move, an Advance or it Falls Back ...any vertical distance up and/or down that they make as part of that move is ignored."
@@TacticalTortoise that's right, thx
Look Out Sir! Clearly states that the character can't be targeted unless it is the closest visible non-character unit. So wouldn't that mean that the chaplain in your example would be an eligible target, since it the marine squad that is closer to the exocrine, is not visible?
Look Out doesn't require the character to be the closest visible target; it requires the the character to be *both* closest to the attacking unit AND visible. Important distinction.
So when talking about look out sir your text mentions closest visible unit but then say the closest unit doesn’t have to be visible.
My understanding was that GW didn’t get rid of the dumb rule that hidden scout units can screen for characters that are within lookout sir range of a second unit. You explain this but it’s contrary to the text you had up in the video.
Look Out Sir requires that the character be the closest unit to the firer... *and* visible
Not the closest visible unit; it's an important distinction
You missed titanic. How do they work? I know there's some stuff to them like they can be targeted anywhere on 5he battle field but I cant find all the rules for them. They seem to be all over the place
They can fall back and shoot/cast Psychic powers
That's the only special rule they have
@@TacticalTortoise so what about the obscuring rules? I'm playing imperial knights and I keep being told they can't hid behind obscuring terrain. Even if they cant see me.
@@amangonemad5117 Obscuring terrain does not affect shooting for models targeting Titanic units, LoS still applies tho. Also, Titanic units don’t suffer the movement penalty of difficult ground as long as the terrain feature is 3” or less in height. That’s in the terrain section of the Core Rule Book. Knights really need a new updated codex tbh
That's just because they're typically 18+ wounds
C'mon now, cut them down is great when you have 10-20 models in engagement lol.
How does hover work? And can non flying melee attack hover?
If you mean Hover Jet on aircraft; the answer is yes.
Aircraft aren't innately immune to non-fly; the Airborne ability makes them that way, which then is removed when they use Hover Jets (or equivalent). It's all spelled out on their datasheets.
Ahh ok cool. So I was looking at the movement change when in hover mode, does that mean that the hovering unit can stand still and pivot more than 90 degrees?
Also when melee units attack an aircraft hovering, could the aircraft switch back to regular flight and get out of melee?
How the turtle reach his gun?
with panache
Can I still fight in combat if my psyker is preforming a psychic action
given that (to my knowledge) there are no psychic actions that last beyond the psychic phase, yes you can. You are only disallowed from fighting, shooting, moving, etc. if the action has not been completed. Since all psychic actions that I know of are completed (or failed) immediately upon casting, they are resolved before the fight phase.
@@themos9751 oh ok thx yeah this is what I had in mind . Thx again
2000 points? But the power on the data sheets is no where near that
Huh
